Would give this place 6 stars if I could. The staff here are incredibly professional and kind. Our whole engine had to be replaced due to a leak, and they were very communicative and prompt. The texting feature was very helpful when trying to plan when repairs were getting done and an estimate for pick up. Also, great place to go if you purchased your car from Carvana, as they are in network and we only had to pay the deductible of $100 plus a shop fee of $35. Just picked up our BMW and couldn't be happier with the results. We had a tree fall on our entire back of the car and crash the window, ruin the bumper, break the lights, etc. They not only entirely fixed the damage, but detailed the insides, took care of some extra scratches around the car, and filled up our tires and checked everything. All relatively reasonably priced as well, as they knew insurance didn't cover storm damage so they really took care of us. I highly recommend High Point for both body work and mechanical issues. We have a 2016 Honda van that's been retrofitted with a ramp to accommodate my wife's disability. That involves complicated issues. It was hit by another car and required really major work. High Point did a great job on the repairs, did them as promptly as they possibly could, helped me deal with the insurance company, kept me informed every step of the way as to exactly what was going on with the car. They really understood how important that vehicle is for us. They have done other work since and continue to do excellent work. With COVID it took some time to bring it back but when I did they had all the notes on file. I explained that I was leaving for a vacation so we would have to do it before or after a certain time. DO NOT GET A UHAUL HERE. I reserved a Uhaul truck and tow dolly over a month in advance. Confirmed, reserved, all good. It was super convenient because I lived just a couple blocks from here. I scheduled it for early in the morning and planned my whole intense move day after that. Then, literally the NIGHT BEFORE the reservation date, they impersonally notified me that they had moved my reservation to the evening, and changed the pick-up location to a store in another city entirely. What??? Turns out they NEVER had the kind of truck I had "reserved" and moved me to some other random store that did. Then why give me the option to reserve it in the first place? Why confirm it? They did nothing but flat out lie to me and then did nothing to make it right. This is a terrible, terrible business that I hope goes out of business soon. Avoid at all costs. read more

He was kind, thoughtful, and explained everything he did on my car to me. He showed me pictures of my completely warped tires (I brought it in to fix a flat & get a tune up) and happily answered any questions. The price was absolutely reasonable, and my car runs AMAZING! The difference between before and after is incredible. Please bring your business to Fred, he's a good man. I'm a 23 year old woman and he didn't try to rip me off or treat me like a buffoon. Before this experience, I actively avoided anything car related because I'd get treated, talked to, and looked at, like an idiot in car shops. And rightfully so, honestly, I know nothing about cars. Called these guys up at 6 PM. on Saturday, June 1st--one of the busiest moving weekends of the year looking to rent a 10' U-Haul truck the next day. Surprisingly, Fred, the owner answered the phone! He answered all our questions and confirmed availability. We reserved our truck online. Showing up the next day and the place was busy with many trucks coming in and going out. Sam, one of the other employees, got our truck ready and went over the entire exterior with small stickers to mark dents and dings they already knew about so we weren't liable. After a few quick pointers, we were out the door in 15 minutes. Returning after posted hours, Fred was still there and took the truck off our hands. I received the invoice later that night and it was within $5 of our estimate. End-to-end service was excellent and U-Haul makes renting a truck a breeze. The truck itself was fine and easy to drive. The two employees we worked with here, Fred and Sam were great and didn't give us any grief for the last-minute rental. Only con, and not worth a downgrade to 4 stars is that the location is tiny and on a fairly busy street. I'm glad we didn't have to get the truck into the lot after hours! Overall: great service, no-hassle, would rent from this location again. read more

I rely on yelp for finding the best businesses based on people's reviews but I never felt the need to write my own - until today. I made a reservation with U-Haul on 7/5 to reserve a truck from this location for my move on 7/25. I received a confirmation the same day stating my reservation was made for the time-slot I requested. I got a call today from Fred at High Point saying that my reservation would be for HALF the amount of time I was previously confirmed. I need the extra time I was previously confirmed for because I have a bad back and need to be careful while moving. When I called him to tell him that I had been previously confirmed for the amount of time I originally requested, he began cutting me off repeatedly on the phone, yelled at me, and even HUNG UP on me! It took another 3 times calling him to try to get him to answer my questions and he said he didn't care about my previous confirmation and hung up again. Fred was harassing me and said he would not honor my reservation but said he did not cancel it, so now I have to call U-Haul to get everything figured out so I don't get charged for services I won't be using because Fred wouldn't tell me if he canceled my truck or not. Do NOT give this shop your business. Fred runs this place and is extremely rude. No customer deserves to get yelled at and berated for something like this. read more

I'll agree with Taylor B. that the check out was unorthodox but it actually made it more friendly. The van I got was brand new and I had no troubles at all. Read a lot of reviews before I moved to pick the right Uhaul dealership. High Point was rated the best, and after renting from them I agree with the reviews. When you place the order online at uhaul.com, you'll get a 6 hour moving window. This wasn't enough for me, so I called. Fred from High Point had no issue adding 2 more hours to my rental. Then when I was still not going to make it by closing time, they gave me instructions for dropping it off after-hours with no fee. Now, all that is pretty normal at a Uhaul. I've rented a few before. But the nice thing about this place is it's an auto shop, not a Uhaul store. That means they aren't going to try to sell you a storage unit or try to make you sign up for a million things. They also don't have a ton of trucks, so you won't be standing in line instead of hauling your stuff. No complaints. A+ read more

Initially I had a great experience here with an oil change and a Uhaul rental. However, when I went back for my next oil change the owner tried to charge me $64 instead of the $25 fee written on all the flyers around the office. This made me uneasy. The next time I went to get my oil changed at the actual car dealership they told me the oil pan bolt was stripped and that it was going to cost $500+ to replace. I've been told that this stripping can only happen by incorrect removal and replacement of the oil pan. I will not be going back and would not recommend to others. read more

I assumed around $50 plus mileage and gas - in other words, even assuming almost a 100% markup I still was charged $100 more than expected. I've used this location twice for contracting Uhaul services, mostly due to the proximity to my apartment. Both times I was disappointed with the quality of customer service and friendliness of staff. The first time I rented a short truck and was able to get the truck on time and in a clean condition. The customer service was lacking, however. Because I would be returning the truck after hours, I was quickly told to throw my key in a dropbox and pointed to a gate where I could enter a code to get in and leave the truck in the evening. The staff member rushed through the whole process, even when I asked clarifying questions to make sure I would do the right thing in the evening and have no problems. He seemed annoyed that I didn't immediately see the drop box and in a rush to get back to sitting at his desk. Later that evening, I had trouble with the code that I was given for the gate to the lot. There was no number to call after hours in case of difficulty and several other passersby tried to help me get in the gate with the code I had been given to no avail. I ended up having to take the uhaul back home with me and return it in the morning, missing work in order to do so. I could not have been met with a more rude response. The staff member tried to charge me for an additional day and for the level of the gas tank and extra miles I had used. He did eventually agree to not charge me for the gas, but I still paid the extra mileage I had had to drive in order to bring the uhaul back for a second time in the morning. No apology was given to me for the issuance of an incorrect code and the staff member made me feel "stupid" for not having been able to open the gate. I was assigned this location for my most recent uhaul pickup. I had some reservations, but decided to give them another shot. Customer service was more or less the same - they are in a hurry to get you out the door, don't explain insurance policies, and quickly rush you through checking the mileage, condition of the vehicle and checking the gas tank. When handing over a $50,000 vehicle to a stranger, I think they could be a lot more thorough and customer-oriented. As contractors for Uhaul, they just don't give a crap. There are better places to pick up your Uhaul. The staff at Uptown Uhaul is so much nicer! read more

I called on a Friday afternoon because I heard a horrible noise from somewhere under the hood of my car. I had never been here before, and I felt like I was in good hands because Fred asked who I was and said he knows all of his customers. He was very concerned and asked if I could leave my car overnight so he could diagnose on Saturday morning. He called me the next day and told me the issue and how it would need to be fixed. He was able to fit me into the schedule, order the parts, and complete the work by Monday afternoon. When I arrived to pick it up, he showed me the damaged parts and explained exactly what happened and why I was hearing the noise. He has MANY years of experience and knows cars inside and out. He is kind, courteous, and will not BS when he reviews your car and tells you what it needs. He kept my car running until I decided to purchase a new one ( Chevy Cruze... a SUPER CAR!!) when it was first introduced on the market.
