I have only been here a few times, and after my last experience I remember why. I ordered the Hawaiian Pizza special (just a slice), and it was honestly a struggle to eat. It didn't taste fresh at all. It seemed like something that made days ago and then reheated--and even then, it wasn't particularly warm when it reached the table. My wife's experience wasn't much better. She ordered the Grilled Steak Wrap, and the meat was inedible. The fresh cut French Fries were the only highlight of the meal. If you are looking for a bar only - they have a good vibe on that side with great entertainment and a place to hang out and drink with friends. We have been going here for years, either with family for Friday fish or with friends after golf. Always a good experience. It seems they are going downhill fast. My wife and I took our daughter and grandkids for dinner last evening. On the plus side, our server, Aiden, while new and young, was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the experience was not his fault. He brought drinks and took our order. Being in Niles and loving the cheese puffs at the Mt Carmel festival, we often order them and they are always tasty. We ordered four. Two were fine but two must have been dipped into the oil and done. the dough was raw and the cheese wasn't melted. Aiden said he would get two more. They never came because someone else took them and now they only had one left. The clam chowder we ordered never came because it was burned. My wife ordered the Italian fish and I ordered the pan fried. By the time we got them they tasted like they had been sitting under heat lamps for a while and were lukewarm at best. Our grandson said his burger was good but the fries were awfully salty. Our granddaughter had spaghetti. The meatball was fine but the sauce was bland at best. I genuinely wish i could give zero stars. I have never had such awful service from a restaurant before. We walked in shortly after 6, first thing I noticed was how hot the restaurant was, understandably it's one of the hottest weeks of the summer. Once our drink orders were taken, it was close to 15-20 minutes to get the drinks. Mind you, the restaurants HOT, you're breaking a sweat just sitting there. The chairs are all torn up, so you sweating and sitting on cracked uncomfortable chairs. Our drinks were finished before she even came to take our order, not from us drinking fast either. It was about 20-25 minutes later when we were able to finally offered refills and our order was taken. Our food took 45 minutes to come out, when it did finally come out, it was steaming hot thankfully but the wings were horrible. You had to rip the rubbery meat off the bone and the wings are tiny compared to other local restaurants. So they're gross, soggy, tiny wings at $0.80/piece on Thursdays (not the best deal in the area). The burgers that were ordered medium well came out mooing, probably because they were killing the cow in the back as we waited for the burger, which is the only explanation as to why it took so long that I can think of. We asked for our checks when she came to see if other refills were needed, if you guessed that that took forever, you'd be correct. We sat in that hot, uncomfortable restaurant for almost 2 hours, just to get mediocre food, terrible service and rage from the experience. I will genuinely never walk back into this restaurant ever again, I don't know if it's terrible management and understaffing or if our waitress was truly that bad but either way this is a problem that should be addressed. read more

We came to hear our friends, The Berry's play live music on a Friday night and it was our first time eating here. We walked into the tavern side and got lucky enough to find a table because they were filling up quickly. We were greeted by our server almost immediately after settling into to our table. We put in some drinks and appetizers because it was happy hour and it was almost over. The drinks came out in seemingly a blink of an eye and the appetizers soon enough. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and the hot peppers and oil with flatbread dippers. They were both prepared fresh and tasted flavorful. For our entrees I ordered the fried bologna sandwich and fries and she got the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap. Both were tasty and made to order. The service was great by both our server and the manager. They were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There were moveable barriers between the bar seats that could be adjusted as needed and everything seemed properly sanitized and social distancing and mask wearing were both being enforced . We will definitely return here again and try some other dishes and hope to have another great experience. read more

One half of this building is a family style restaurant and the other half is a bar. This dichotomy serves the public well, as there is something here for everyone. We visited the restaurant with another couple that are good friends of ours. I ordered the fish dinner which was very good. It came with French fries and a large side salad. My wife had the Veggie wrap and fries. She liked the wrap but said the fries were greasy and limp. The other couple ordered a mushroom burger and a Chef's salad. They both enjoyed their meals. The food was good and so was the service. However, I thought the menu prices were a little high for the value of the food. 1st time there was on a Sunday and it happened to be during a Browns game. It was noisy of course, after the game was over it got easier to talk. The food was typical bar food in a typical bar. Good - not great, not terrible. I got the High Pointe burger. It is huge. Very tasty, but I live in Newton Falls and I am used to great burgers (Big D's). Service was kind of slow - probably because the waitresses are busy supplying drinks on game day. I didn't know the restaurant side is closed on Sunday or I would have definitely suggested someplace else to get a meal on NFL Sunday. Ordered pizza. They say it takes 35 to 45 minutes to make one which would have been nice to know before we ordered. Pizza burnt on the bottom and we're told that's because they don't put it in a pan. We ordered dinner, my wife ordered chicken franchise and i ordered a sausage sandwich. It took almost an hour before we got our food. The chicken was tasteless and over garlicky. Let me start off by saying the food is fantastic. The 'High Pointe' Burger is to this day one of my favorite burgers, and I'll go out of my way to get it. That being said, the service is severely lacking. My husband and I (with our two year old in tow) arrived relatively early for the lunch rush, with only one table ahead of us who was already dining. We were sat, and a few tables were sat after us. We waited maybe ten minutes or so, as the other tables (older folks) were given drinks, and had their orders placed. One table even had two waitresses approach them to take their orders before we were even acknowledged. They politely let her know they were taken care of before she walked off. Eventually our orders were taken, and the food came. I noticed what must have been the manager making rounds at the tables asking the other diners how their meal was, and he just so happened to skip right over us as well. We sat for maybe 25 minutes or so with empty plates waiting for the waitress to reappear and she never did. I eventually ended up waiting outside with my toddler while my husband found her and paid. (Another 15 minutes or so after we'd left) I mean, sure. We're a younger couple with our baby but we deserved at least basic service. We're typically amazing tippers (I spent many years as a server myself) and this was definitely an awful experience. If you want High Pointe and you're younger than 45, order it to go or you'll be ignored. (We noticed another younger couple in a corner booth getting the same 'excellent' service as us) The food is great. The service? Not so much. read more

I give 5 stars only because I'm trying to put positivity into the universe, but this was the worst pizza I've ever had. First time trying food from here. FaceBook said they had a good pickle pizza so we thought we'd give it a try. Looked up menu on website to order a second pizza. Breakfast pizza was listed on the menu under the specialty pizzas but lady on the phone said that was just a special that they offered a while back (then why is it listed on the full menu in the middle of the list? It's covid19 quarantine, 2 months deep, the online menu for pickups should be accurate...I mean you have plenty of time with no patrons in the restaurant). Pickle pizza had like 5 pickles total on it so you were lucky to get a half a pickle on your slice and you got about an inch and a half of crust (long ways not width). Looooots of crust. Noooo flavor. Ended up choosing chicken bacon ranch instead of the unavailable breakfast pizza, blaaaah too much crust. The staff was nice enough, the kid who makes the pizza needs to not be so stingy with the toppings since people are paying 30 bucks for two pizzas with a 20% tip. read more

This is a dirty location. Does not look like they use the vacuum cleaner in quite some time. The entire establishment can use a deep clean. The first table they gave us was very sticky. My family and I tried this restaurant because I bought a deal ($25 voucher for $10). I probably would not have tried it because it looks more like a bar than a restaurant from the outside. But ... The fries were hand cut too and outstanding!!! My other son and wife both tried a pizza. This was really good. Note: You do NOT need to order extra cheese. They put plenty on their pizzas. My son ordered extra cheese and it was INSANE how much cheese they used! LOL! The crust was really great. They needed to use a bit more sauce tho. We stopped for lunch on a Saturday and were warmly greeted by the owner. We perused the menu and found a few things that interested us. I got the chicken walnut and cranberry salad. Tons of walnuts- yum! And was pleased they served dressing on side because I didn't need it all. It would've drowned the goodies in the salad. My mom order soup and 1/2 sandwich. I hate that the name of this place is mis-spelled. But despite that, they have some really good food. The menu consists of mostly American fare, (burgers, steaks etc.) but there are a few Italian dishes on there as well. The pizza here is very decent! I highly recommend the seafood pizza or the 4-cheese. Portion sizes are huge and the prices are actually pretty fair. If you're looking for something to do at night, High Pointe has a great bar and some excellent entertainment. Sunday night is Karaoke Night with Simply Ed. Every other Wednesday, Singer/ guitarist Mark from The Rage plays Acoustic. I like High Pointe and I definitely recommend going there whether it be for food or for a good time or for both! This is my favorite place to go for happy hour. They have half off appetizers, drafts and well drinks every week night until 8pm. It may even be 9 now as I thought I heard someone say that. Monday is wing night. The appetizers are just fantastic. We always get chicken strips (you get 8) 4 huge potato skins, a delicious jalapeño cheese filled pretzel and lastly a delicious cheese puff. If you have a cheese puff here you will wonder how you ever thought Mt. Carmels were good. The service is always good too. There is no waiting. The draft beer is fresh and tasty too. When I go to other bars I always compare that first gulp to this place. I've only eaten in the dining room one time and that was about a year ago. My daughter got a cheeseburger that wasn't so good. It tasted like a meatloaf but I still think they are worthy of 5 stars for the bar. read more

The best chicken parmesan I've ever had!!!! We also had the bang bang shrimp and jalapeno pretzel which was delicious. The restaurant has been upgraded during time closed from covid 19 and the place looks great! Service was excellent. We love visiting this restaurant and our 8 year old loves the food as well. We felt safe and that they take extra precautions during the covid 19 to protect customers and employees. This is a nice little dive bar in Niles. It has typical drink prices and typical drink selections, but the service that comes with it made it a little more enjoyable for me. My wife and I went today with the main intention of trying something new. The burgers are huge and done to perfection, the BLT great. I was a little disappointed with the chilli and the wife's fries were a little too well done. Server was okay, but twice I had to get up and search for her.
