The reason we brought our vehicle in for a repair was to have a working DVD player in the back for an upcoming trip. Our DVD player is not repaired. The radio system did not work, so they told me they had to install an aftermarket radio to get it working. A few hours after dropping it off I was called and told that they had to open up the roof because the DVD player was not working after installing the radio. I okayed it and expected they would call me back to let me know when it was working. No one called me until it was finished and time to pick it up. I assumed it was all fixed since they told me to pick it up, but when I was shown the new system the DVD player was not working. Someone should have told me that it was not going to be working when I picked up the vehicle. I likely would have not had the aftermarket radio installed if it wasn't even fixing the problem I wanted fixed. When I picked it up I was surprised at what I got. We knew it would be aftermarket, but no one explained to us that it meant we would have cords coming out of the car now to connect our phone, and to use the phone on bluetooth from a wired speaker before they installed it. The phone even has trouble staying connected when plugged into the cord, so the music and phone calls continuously disconnect. The bluetooth also does not work all the time. To fix the DVD problem I was told we would have to get one from a salvage yard. They do not do the ordering for this part, so I had to do it myself. The guidance that I received was inadequate in obtaining the correct part. The part that the salvage yard sent from the information they told me to tell them was not compatible with the new radio they had installed. I left my car with them all day (for a second time) and was told at the end of their working day that it was not compatible. I was out of time to get the DVD player working before our trip. I left the shop having nothing fixed the second day, having wasted the whole day without a vehicle, and with a part that I had to return back to the salvage yard. (Which was not easy to obtain on time in the first place. I had to make special arrangements to get that part to them to do the repair on time.) I am unhappy with how much money I spent, and that now I am left with more problems than solutions. Promises were made to us which were not kept in fixing the problem in a timely manner. It was not a timely manner, the problem we wanted fixed was not fixed, I had to do too much work to get all the necessary parts to them on time, and we spent way too much money. Their shop was recommended to us, and unfortunately I cannot recommend them.

After they had finished putting everything in it sounded good and then I left, but on the drive home is when I heard all the problems. My front left speaker wasn't playing any sound, the sound wasn't clear, and there was a lose wire somewhere and when I would drive and hit a bump my speakers would go quite or just stop playing all together. I went back and they listened to me and fixed all the problems except for the sound, when I asked about the sound the guy at the front told me it's supposed to sound like that even though he didn't even listen to it. After that I went home to look at the amp and they had it on the wrong channel, after I fixed it they sound good. Then after my right rear speaker starts clipping and cutting of then I went back to tell them the problem and they tell me my speaker is burnt up and that my speakers were just bad. I had these installed and all of these problem with in 2 weeks and they tell me my speakers just burnt up. I don't turn my speakers up loud or have the bass all the way up and they tell me it was my speakers and that they are trash. Like another review I saw on here "great prices but terrible technicians they don't know what they're doing".

This repair shop was the best before Billy retired. But now a new crew is in charge. Tony is the…read morelead guy and he is dishonest. I dropped my truck off for them to diagnose a problem I suspected was a timing chain issue. Tony called me back and informed me that I did need a new timing chain kit and it would cost ~$2300 (parts/labor, less sales tax and "shop incidentals"). I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic and when I picked up the truck, Tony charged me $65 for the diagnostics. I asked him if he had performed any diagnostics on the truck and he said no. They just listened to the truck and agreed with my assessment. I told him that his "diagnostics" fee was unfair since he had done nothing to confirm the problem. He simply pointed to the sign on the wall ($65 shop fee). I told him I would never use his shop again and he said "I'm glad". That afternoon, I stopped by another shop. The lead mechanic listened to the engine and said, "Well, I can't confirm it's a bad timing chain unless I briefly run the engine without the serpentine belt in place." I agreed for him to proceed and his diagnosis confirmed the timing chain was ok. The water pump pulley was bad (making noise). He quoted me $750 to replace the pump (parts/labor).. In Summary, Lowery's Automotive (with Tony calling the shots) did NOTHING to confirm the engine problem and were prepared to charge me over $2300 for a timing chain I did not need. We've all heard the stories of mechanics/shops charging for work that's not necessary. Well, I experienced it firsthand and I'm lucky I did not allow Tony's gang to work on my truck. STAY AWAY FROM LOWERY'S AUTOMOTIVE
