I ordered 3 burrito bowl online. The only substitution I made was hot salsa instead of mild salsa. Just got home my bowl is missing salsa, sour cream, and cheese. How do you miss 3 ingredients in a bowl that's on the menu, not a custom anything? I don't think my bowl has ever actually been made to order. My friends surf and turf bowl had uncooked shrimp and the last bowl tasted terrible and might as well been dog food. We ordered take out last night from the Blackhawk location. We've always been fans of HTB and wanted to give it a try. We want to support some of our local eateries during the shut down. I'm only giving it three stars; the food we ordered was so-so. The biggest disappointment was the guy who took my call-in order. He couldn't have been more bothered. Honestly, I would think restaurants and businesses that are struggling would be more appreciative of folks who continue to bring them business. We'll try another place next time. read more

I generally really do like the burritos at Hi Tech. They have a good variety of fusion burritos and bowls and the food is definitely on the healthier side with lots of vegetarian options. This location has a big plus over the location in Alamo as it actually has seating inside. Yay! However, our last order from this place seemed messed up. We never figured out what it was my husband actually ended up with (he ordered the curry vegetarian). It didn't contain rice which was what he requested but definitely was not a curry burrito. So they got his order half right I guess. They were also very slow with the food. Maybe because we ordered for 4 people? We've never had an issue with an order at the Alamo location and we've been there many times. read more

The last 2 times we've tried to eat here, we saw cockroaches on the bench seats in the bar area! We told our server and she acted like she already knew! It was mid day and roaches don't come out during the day unless there are HUNDREDS....Reported it beginning of last year, went back a few months later and saw another cockroach in the bar area again! A friend mentioned they went about a month ago and told us they saw the same thing!! Have always like High Tech in past but this time they got it wrong. Ordered the Southwest Salad to go. When I got home I saw they forgot the avocado. They used the grilled chicken but covered it in too much BBQ sauce. It was salad with BBQ sauce as dressing. There was a tasty dressing that was on the side . Couldn't taste it as BBQ sauce was overpowering . Generous portion of chicken but next time I will order the salad with plain grilled chicken and look at the food before I leave to make sure I get everything included. read more

I went to this place today after receiving bad customer service at Another restaurant. Me and my husband enter inside the building the cashier did not great us with a smile even though we are wearing mask you can tell when someone is smiling. I noticed that after we order the cashier greeted two other couple with a smile and had a more up beat personality. After receiving our food the shrimp tasted like it was sitting in water over night you can taste it in the sauce mix they had with it, it was very fishy tasting. Ok not going to lie, I was very skeptical after looking at the menu and reviews. HTB Came off as a knock off chipotle. I Was just going to go to togos next door but went against my better judgment and was willing to roll the dice with H.T.B went for the Godzilla burrito since that is the only pic on Yelp lol she asked what meats so I did steak n shrimp for $1.50 more food was ready fast. And let me tell you this is no chipotle lol the burrito was huge, juicy and flavorful. Didn't need no salsa or salt or lemon it was amazing. The meat was chuy and thick the shrimp was endless, must have got at least 1 in each bite lol. Reminded me of a place I love to eat when in San Diego. The burrito had a puddle of juice at the bottom that I spilled all over my pants and shirt ‍ I guess I deserve that for underestimating this place lol can't speak for the other food but that Godzilla burritos with shrimp in steak is can't go wrong. read more

I came here with my dad to bring dinner home for the family. You receive a fountain drink when you check in to yelp! My father had a free burrito he earned by using his points. The only way he could redeem that is if he went back on his texts from weeks later to give the code to the cashier. They can't look the code up the same way you receive your points- by your phone number. After that, they have to put in the code and the machine takes a whole to profess it. It is a bit ridiculous how the system works for that. I ordered the Godzilla but didn't find anything too amazing about it. It was a boy soggy. We live close. Like walkable close. But we've never tried High Tech Burrito before. So yesterday I was heading to Safeway and decided to stop for lunch to check it out. I saw super hungry and Mexican sounded quick and tasty. Mistake. While not busy, it took a long long time for everyone who ordered when I was there to get their food. I waited over 10 minutes after completing and paying for my lunch. I assumed that meant it was going to be good - fresh and made-to-order. I was wrong. I ordered the "surf and turf" bowl which was supposed to be steak and shrimp, rice, black beans, salsa, lettuce, and sour cream. When I got up to get the bowl at first I thought it was the wrong thing. My first impression was that it was a bowl of chilli, followed quickly by the thought that it looks like Alpo dog food. I questioned the cook and he said "yeah, that's the surf and turf". Well ok then. It did have all those ingredients in the bowl I guess, but it was all stirred up together and looked incredibly unappetizing. Hungry, I was still optimistic that it would be tasty. Wrong again. It didn't taste much better than it looked. The shrimp seems undercooked and the "steak" was stringy, with fatty bits and small pieces of some kind of beef. I was hungry so I managed to choke down about 1/2 of the bowl before I gave up and tossed the rest in the trash. Maybe I picked the wrong thing and should have gone for something more basic on the menu. But I doubt I'm going back to give it another chance. read more

I love the H.T.B special with chicken and steak I get it every time. I tried to get High Tech Burrito to cater my party because they had mentioned catering before, but when I asked over the phone they denied it. Ugh one more HTB-less party for me :( I really don't like the time they close it's SOO early my mother and I went to go get dinner and they were closed but it was only 8:18! I was upset! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they've messed up my order a couple of times. I am addicted to the curry shrimp burrito. The shrimp is always plentiful and fresh tasting. I don't know of anywhere else you can get a large burrito with (what they claim) has only 400 calories. Although I can eat a whole one and not feel totally bloated.
