A salad that took 1 hour and a half.
    Katelyn P.

Don't come here unless you want to wait over an hour and a half for food. The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet we still had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. Several people had to ask for refunds because they had been waiting hours for their food. They had people with to-go orders, DoorDash orders, and dine-in customers all waiting for hours. People after us are getting their food before we are. On top of that, you still have to pay for street parking while you wait. The service and wait time were completely unacceptable. Definitely won't be coming back.

Higher Taste is 100% Vegan! I got the Ahimsa Burger and my parents and I shared a peanut butter cookie. The cookie stole the show- I could not believe how GOOD it was. The burger was good too, and I was impressed by the quality bread! Some part of the burger tasted like it had mint in it, which was odd, and unique, but it worked! So food was definitely a 5/5!!!! The one worker we saw was doing a great job helping everyone out. It is also self-order on an iPad, but she was able to come out and answer an ingredient question we had. I'm not sure why, but despite ordering "for here" (eating in) we were still served single use plates/bowls/cups/utensils/napkins. That was a bummer because it's so wasteful! It was extremely hot inside too, I honestly thought I was getting a fever until I commented on the temperature and my family said it was really hot too. As soon as we stepped outside, the outside temperature was much cooler! I wish the decorative plants were real, they were very obviously fake. Good and service were great, but there are some spots for room for improvement in the dining experience (mode of serving, indoor temperature, decorations/look).

We live in LA but were in Long Beach for a concert and were very happy we landed at Higher Taste. The Ahimsa burger was incredibly delicious! We also shared the Thai Temple Bowl which was also delicious. I don't know how they make that tofu but we loved it. That was plenty of food for 2 people, but then we got a raw cinnamon roll and it was very strange but very tasty. The ordering was lengthy as each of us had to order from the one digital pad and people were waiting to get to the one pad which is a little.....annoying, I hate to say. We rang the bell and yelled to get a person out in front to answer questions and she was super nice, and delivered our food timely and nicely. I get that they need to keep overhead down, but ordering from a real person is so much more engaging and enjoyable and everybody knows that the experience counts a lot.

Really bright and charming spot for a laidback meal. We had the spicy ranch chikn burger which was very filling, but i would recommend getting it with no cheese as it is a bit overpowering (this coming from someone who loves cheese). The crunchwrap supreme was so crispy and textural, bursting with flavor. The tortilla chips were fresh and cripsy and the accompanying sauce was spicy like chipotle, but thicker. FYI there is a 2.9% gratuity charge on all orders.

Their food is really good. Their cheesecake is simply scrumptious. (Don't compare to the dairy version of cheesecake, come on we are vegans for a reason!) Hemp Kale Bowl was also very tasty, loved the tempeh too. Their staff is always amazing and friendly. The only disappointment was mindless usage of plastics everywhere including throw away water cups. They have done nothing to reduce plastic waste nor do they have recycling bins!

A delicious vegan restaurant with lots of seating inside. Self-serve water station and easy to order electronic system at the counter. Of course you can always ask one of the employees if you have any questions about the menu. The food is (still) great and the Vietnamese Spring Rolls are still my fav! Crunchy and fresh. I just love the freshness of the vegetables. The Thai peanut sauce is a great accompaniment. In addition to ordering our favorite bowls we also ordered an Ahisma burger and an oh-so-delicious protein power shake! I am definitely going to order that again and again!

Got the 'Purple Dragon' to-go and was disappointed it didn't have goji berries as mentioned in the menu, which was the primary reason I ordered it. Toppings were light for the price. Seemed more like a 16 oz than a 24 oz. Probably will just make one myself next time. The guy working there seemed like he really didn't want to be there.

Five stars for the amazing message the owner sent me!!! I truly look forward to trying another crunch wrap and chicken tenders. We all have our off days, however it's so super duper rare nowadays to have people that actually take responsibility for it. Truth be known I wasn't having the greatest day either and after reading the owners private message I felt bad about my review. I don't want to hurt anyone's business. The customer service and love I felt thru his message uplifted me more than any meal ever could have. So support this business please...because owners like this are rare and a gem to the community. Especially in this horrible trying times where it seems we are all so angry and disconnected. Peace and blessings to anyone that reads this...

Açaí Bowl , soooo delicious 10/10

Tried their Açaí Bowl and it was delicious, the base was so thick and creamy , topping are also fresh and crisp.

I came here randomly and decided to try it out although I am not vegetarian and vegan. I ordered the Thai Temple Bowl which was amazing. The sauce that comes with it is delicious. Great location. Parking might be difficult to find depending on the time your are coming.

Are you always open on Wednesdays? We are planning a special going away luncheon for our Vegan loving friend (4/22/26).…

Yes we are. If you let us know how many are in your party and when you are coming, we will make sure to reserve space and serve you nicely

What soup do you guys offer on sundays?

Shucks, I don’t know for sure. Ok, I checked it’s tomatoe base, with mixed veggies, abd a Mexican spice blend :)

Does the restaurant use nuts at all for dishes ? If so, are they careful to accommodate someone who has nut allergies (including dairy and egg)? Thanks!

    Yes they do

Do they still have the raw nori rolls? Any other raw dishes (excluding the dessert)?

    I had another dish there.

Is every single item on the menu at this restaurant vegan?

Yes all vegan! If you’re vegan, lucky for you! If you’re not vegan, go out on a limb and try it! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

I love their food but have grown more knowledgeable about healthy oils. Do they use veg, canola, corn or anything not considered healthy? And do they use GMO produce?

hi there, i'm radhi, the owner. thanks for your query. our olive oil is organic and so is our coconut oil. about half of our produce is organic (it rotates every week based on what's available in the market, but nothing is ever gmo). all of our dry…

Had the perfect balance of a crispy outside and a soft juicy inside. Goes great with the dipping sauces. Lowkey some of the best zucchini sticks I've had. Southern Fried Chick'n Sammie - 4/5 Pretty good! Chewy and flavorful. Tasted like a chicken sandwich. The bacon was alright but overall a good sandwich. Bread was a little thick. Tater Tots and Salad - 3/5 Tater tots were cooked until crispy, but these are your standard tots and salad. Pastrami Sandwich - 1/5 Not a fan. I would skip this and get another sandwich next time. It was way too buttery and the pastrami did not taste like pastrami - texture and flavor were not similar. Their vegan pastrami also had a weird taste (maybe seitan?). Vietnamese Coffee - 1/5 Did not taste similar to the real thing. The mixture also did not dissolve well so I would skip this. Service was friendly, but the wait time for the food was quite long, even for drinks.

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

But the menu is huge and I've made a real dent in it: the eggs benedict croissant, steak and eggs, honey prosciutto pizza, and the beef bulgogi burrito have all been excellent. The pastries deserve their own paragraph. Strawberry croissant, Dubai chocolate croissant, almond croissant, cheesecake, cookies -- I've had nearly all of them and they hit every time. But the guava danish is the one. If you only get one thing from the pastry case, get that. There are days I come in purely for the pastries and skip the meal entirely. Service is quick and friendly. Parking is the one tricky part. We've been lucky finding a spot right out front every time, but give yourself a few extra minutes. They had sports playing on the TVs and the interior is pretty small. It's more of a casual vibe good for a chill night out. It kinda feels like a place where you order at the front and get takeout, but they have someone who will wait on your table if you choose to dine in. I came with a vegetarian friend and we had a fun time sampling the different taco meats and rating each. Here is my ranking: 1. Asada - I hate to be basic, but this was good for what it was. It tasted like they might have used mushroom meat, but this takes place as #1 for me because I think it could be a general crowd pleaser for any non-vegetarian. On the contrary, my vegetarian friend did not like it because she found it too dry. 2. Barbacoa - A very, very close second. The only reason it places behind asada is because asada is a classic. Barbacoa has good texture and I could eat a lot of these too. 3. Chorizo - This was the closest to tasting like its actual counterpart. I could eat a bunch of chorizo. Crumbly meat with lots of flavor. 4. Tinga - I'm not as familiar with tinga meat, but the pickled red onion that went with this taco gave it a savory taste. Good to try out but you're not missing out if you choose other flavors. 5. Chicken - Tasted like tofu meat? Not bad - I don't usually pick chicken for taco meat so this might be a personal preference choice. 6. Pastor - Sweet, but did not taste like pastor. Had a little trouble distinguishing between the pastor and the tinga at first, but came to the conclusion the pastor was the one with pineapple on it. I mostly prefer savory meats and while I don't mind the pineapple, the pastor I usually have is not sweet itself. If you like sweet meats, this might be worth getting. 7. Potato - Everybody can skip the potato. It's a fried potato taco, but the potato they use resembles a breakfast hash. The crispiness is nice, but the texture is flaky and the sauce doesn't save it. Even my vegetarian friend was let down by this one even though she had high hopes and usually likes potato tacos. Overall the server told us most of the taco meats were soybean based (not the pastor). I think the chorizo might be falafel, but that's a guess? Ended our meal with the Tres Leches as a dessert. Frosting is buttery and sweet (maybe a little too much frosting) but the cake goes super well with the milk. It sits in a soy milk bath which is a first for me. I wish they had added more soy milk! The menu is huge though. I was very tempted to try other stuff on the menu so I am very open to coming back and trying the breakfast platter (or getting more tacos again, yum).

The crepe had a lovely pillowy texture and was so heavenly, both the chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse were so rich and decadent and had me wanting more! I loved the freshness, sweetness and juiciness of the berries! The coconut whipped cream really took it over the top and added a nice airiness.
