Customer service was excellent, the cashier was very pleasant and patient with me. Immediately greeted me and gave me a welcoming vibe when walking into the establishment. Being my first time at this establishment, my cashier was very informative and friendly while helping me through the menu. I did not feel rushed and I was able to pick out the items of my choosing and got to be completely satisfied with my choices. My food was amazingly, hot and fresh. Finally tried to give this place a try after hearing about their crispy chicken from a friend. Wow! Did not disappoint! The chicken was scrumptious and the bbq was really good too. Quick Tips: -Parking sucks in this part of Long Beach. You will probably have to pay for metered parking. -Roomy and cozy vibe. One 12top, nine 2tops inside, three 2tops outside, a sofa, a 4top, a piano, and wifi! -Come check out their Soup of the Day -Order at the counter, take a number, and they bring it to you. -They provide many vegan condiments like mustard and Liquid Aminos (coconut-esque in taste) COMES IN HANDY. -Wraps are in a red pepper tortilla Taste 3/5 So the wrap is probably best eaten HERE and not for Take out. My Mediterranean wrap came out promptly, yet poorly wrapped: quinoa (apparently tabbouli), cucumbers, greens, tomatoes, unevenly placed olives, and the strangest hummus I've ever had in my life. Came in here to pick up a quick dinner after spending all day at a convention. It was about a 6-minute drive from the parking structure to the restaurant. It was easy to find parking around the corner and it was a very short walk to the restaurant. The place is big and spacious, but I was surprised that only one large party was sitting down to eat since it was dinner time. I had visited this location before about a year ago and remembered how tasty their fiesta nachos were. I decided to order those to go. I ended up paying about $13 after tip for those. Once I got home to open the box, I was surprised, it looked like I had opened a box full of salad mixture. It took me a while to realize the chips were buried underneath. I got the salsa, guacamole, and sour cream on the side and I know they did that so the chips wouldn't get overly soggy, but with all of the ingredients on top of the nachos, the chips were already soggy so there was no point in getting 3 plastic containers full of condiments. I would appreciate if they just had included those on top of the nachos and reduced the plastic usage. As for how they tasted, I am not vegan, but the only reason I came was that I remembered how flavorful and lemony their "cheese sauce" was and how good they were. However, since the "cheese" sauce was drizzled on top of the lettuce mix the greens had absorbed all the sauce and the chips were left with none. The nachos also included some black beans and veggies and the flavor was great but after I finished the chips, I was left with about 2 cans worth of just black beans. So, the toppings were not proportionate to the chips. I would still recommend the fiesta nachos but with the tip of asking for no lettuce mixture on top if you are ordering to go. You order and pay for your food at the counter prior to sitting, and then wait for them to bring you your food. On a Friday night, this place was pretty empty, but that doesn't say anything about their food. I got the Ahimsa Burger while he got the Tempeh Reuben sandwich. Both came with chips and salsa on the side, and the salsa was delicious!! The Ahimsa Burger had great flavor, a nice toasted bun, and house made patty. Tempeh Reuben sandwich also had well toasted bread, tons of sauerkraut, and thinner slices of tempeh. Parking is street parking. Not difficult to find parking on a Friday night. read more

I love this place, but an hour for pickup??????? I ordered through Yelp which is done through Grubhub. They marked my order as ready and then told me it wasn't. I had to wait an hour for spring rolls and a juice! I am in complete understanding that they might be short staffed due to covid, but an hour for pick up!!!! Unacceptable! Not only did they take an hour. Not only did it take an hour and they marked my order ready when it was not... They made my simple spring roll order wrong and I specifically wrote no peanut sauce and sub the tahini sauce. I'm allergic to peanuts and they gave me peanut sauce!!!!! This service is not ok during these times of being lucky that you're still open and still have the support from the community. I definitely will not be ordering from here for a long time. He was not present when I was waiting 40 mins after my order's projected initial time and was changed after I got there to a later time when I was 3 orders in bc I saw the order receipts on the counter as the cashier pointed to my order. He is also lying and telling me that they can not mark orders as ready, little does he know that I am far to familiarize with the grubhub portal bc I have worked in restaurants who use the grubhub iPad portal. Ahhhh Ahimsa!! What a bitter-sweet relationship we have going on. I love the vegan friendly fare and the variety of choices when it comes to bites, beverages, and bountiful desserts. They absolutely serve some pretty tasty stuff! Their seitan has a soft texture when hot and their tempeh was sliced thin which allowed the soy beans to have a light crunch. Ahimsa also crafts some killer juices & smoothies. While the eclectic ambiance fits their clientele, their sense of urgency and overall efficiency is pretty close to 0%. I've called in an order from Compton and made my way to DTLB & literally waited another 30 minutes for my food. I swung by another time for a juice & a smoothie and the 15 minutes I had on the meter ran out and then some. They were far from being slammed with customers on both occasions. Ahimsa, seemed like a good fit. You walk in here and you just feel like you're in a "cool" place. Gorgeous hand painted murals, tall ceilings with brick walls, large open concept industrial feel. This place is filled with color and with life. Ordered the ginger mint lemonade, the Thai Temple bowl (with vegan chicken), the pakoras, and the Avocado Jalapeno burger. $21 something total. Awesome! -Pakoras were great, crispy, and the fruity chutney was the perfect complement to the salty pakoras. -Thai Temple bowl came with this peanut sauce that I couldn't get enough of! Definitely a filling dish -Burger- loved all the elements- spicy jalapeno, creamy vegan cheese and avocado and soft bun. I wish I had ordered some fries to go with it! It was definitely a creative burger, especially when done vegan style. -The ginger mint lemonade is a MUST. I've never had anything like it. Plus they do refills! Pros: 1. There is metered street parking but good news is try to go on a Sunday parking is free all day...like, I like it...FREE. The place is wide open, you are not really packed. Seating is 1 to 2 feet next to someone like most restaurants. The menu is on the wall along with other earthly murals and decorated items. A GREAT incentive, If you take a picture in front of one of the murals and #hashtag it you get a FREE drink. We ordered our food, took a number for our table and the food came out pretty fast. There are difference odd table settings here, plus there is even a piano, a couch, outdoors seating, free WIFI, no T.V., plus there is no alcohol sold here. I tried the Thai Temple Bowl which was very good busting with lots of flavor, also ordered the spring rolls - didn't like them too much, too much unflavored vegetables... way too much green veggies. I also tried their berry smoothie, very delicious. We were very impressed when the manager came to our table to check on us, asked if everything was o.k., found out it was our first time there and then came back with a FREE Cheese cake for us! They have fabric face masks next to the register for sale for $6. Today I ordered the cauliflower buffalo wings and my husband got the aloha beyond burger. Both were really good. It is a bit expensive which I've noticed is a trend with vegan spots. The flavor was really great and it didn't take long to get the food. We ordered to go because the outside seating got a bit crowded while we were waiting so we didn't feel comfortable being that close to so many people.
