went to get a coffee next door and noticed this really cute food spot. this vegan restaurant has a ton of yummy options to choose from. the inside is big and it was pretty empty for most of the afternoon. i ordered a spicy ranch chicken sandwich with fries and my total was $17. i was excited to try it out. my friend got a burrito with chips and salsa. the inside is really nice, very clean and spacious. we noticed only few people come in and order. we did wait for a while even though it was not busy at all. i'd say after a good 10-15 minutes we finally got our food. the cashier was nice and brought it to our table. the coleslaw that was in the burger was delish and so were the fries. the actual vegan patty was not my favorite but maybe i'm just not used to the taste. my friend really enjoyed her burrito so i probably just would order the same thing she got next time. this is a cute spot to have lunch at but i think i'll stick with the options that don't include the vegan meat. read more

*happy sigh* I've loved this place since it used to be Zephyr's, Ahimsa, and what it is now! Their food never disappoints, and I wish I had photos of everything I had ordered before. The food is beautiful and vibrant, fresh, clean, and delicious! I love the mellow atmosphere and the nice lighting along with the beautiful art and the decor as well. Great another vegan spot that has something for everyone. I noticed on the menu there are a lot of chick'n options and I normally wouldn't order chicken anything I chose the orange chick'n bowl. Brown rice, Cauliflower, carrots, red peppers and the chick'n. The sauce is really good, not to sweet or thick. The meal itself is shareable a large portion for one person for sure. When we did ask she was very nonchalant about the wait time. The open floor plan is wonderful giving you a warm and clean vibe I was struggling to find something on the menu to eat since I was hungry not that they were limited options however I do have a nut allergy the cashier Hector went out of his way to really go through the menu book and ask the right questions in the back kitchen to help pointing in the right direction. Ringing a bell tells me you don't want to be upfront to talk to me when I/customers walk in. I felt like they only wanted to capitalize on the namaste/wholesome aesthetic. Their service was trash. I got a rose milk tea. TELL ME WHY it was handed to me with the boba syrup dripping on the outside of the cup. There was no care into how it was prepared. I recommend going elsewhere or even to the coffee shop on the corner (that place looked busy which is always a good sign). Good service deserves just as much recognition as bad service. This is the BEST vegan burger I've had. I got the spicy ranch and they hands down have the best crispy "chicken" recipe I've tried in my 8+ years being vegan. The buns were nice and toasted and the sauces mixed so perfectly with everything else on the burger. I didn't take a picture of my smoothie but, the staff were super friendly and patient since I was being so indecisive and they helped me slightly tweak the date shake smoothie to my preference. 10/10 My main problem is that I wanted to try everything on their menu!! Has a strong nut flavor (peanut oil maybe?). I could barely taste the buffalo sauce unfortunately. Also wish it had more leafy greens instead of just carrots and tomato. Ahimsa is my go-to in Long Beach. They aren't a vegan joint that deep-fries everything and pushes food out the window in the name of speed. On the contrary, their food taste like a homemade meal (but better) fresh, healthy, and made with love. I've been vegan for years now and have shied away from ordering things that are "cheesy" because they're usually a disappointment to me. Not only do they have mozzarella sticks (which is rare), but they're so darn good! I think they're even better than the real thing and the sauce tasted homemade and was still warm when I picked up my order :-). IMO, Ahimsa has perfected the recipe to tofu/tempeh. The Thai Temple bowl is the perfect ratio of sub meat, fresh veggies, rice, and sauce. You can't go wrong. Every time I eat/cook tempeh now, I feel disappointed because the recipe does not compare to theirs, so I like to pretend I'm eating theirs in my mind.
