This is a review of an order that was delivered. WORST plate of pasta (Fettucine Alfredo) I've ever had. Literally a brick of noodles, jammy and stuck together. Inedible -- even after I tried warming it up to loosen the noodles (which didn't work). I don't live far from the restaurant, so it wasn't a matter of time. And the only reason I'm giving one star at all is that the Yuzu deviled eggs arrived just fine. The other part of what makes this so disappointing is that I immediately called the restaurant to ask that the pasta charge be refunded -- and got voicemail, which assured me someone would call back. That was Friday around 6, it's Sunday now and no one has called. I've eaten in the restaurant once and it's a lovely space -- but given this complete lack of quality control and customer service, I'm not going back. read more

I've been thinking of visiting this place for a while, the atmosphere is great and it's very pleasant to be there. I was initially thinking of the place as a fancy coffee shop by day and a bar by night. The coffee is terrible, believe me. It's very watery if you drink iced coffee or too milky if you prefer a latte. They use a cheap type of crushed ice that melts in a minute. The service is also fine, but the food I ordered was not good. In the photo, you can see what was supposed to be a falafel. It was hard as a rock so I couldn't eat it. I asked to try to remake my order. Without saying sorry or something they just made it again but it wasn't great either. I guess falafel is not the house's special... Considering the prices and my overall experience this place is out of the list forever. read more

It's impressive they have bacanora (and not just tequila or mezcal). -Martini ("night I'm shabuya " or something like that) is just plain gross. I came to Highly Likely to meet with some friends for dinner last night and we will definitely be back. When I entered it felt familiar and relaxed yet elevated. The wooden walls indoors made for a cozy feel and was an interesting textural experience. The outdoor area was so tranquil and well designed. We ate indoors but I will be back to enjoy a table outside. The menu had plenty of vegetarian options and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable! Our server, Garret, took the time to inform us about the sustainable practices of the restaurant and was incredibly welcoming. He was calm and positive and never made us feel rushed even though the restaurant was quite packed! He even brought over a staff member who spoke to us about the sustainability practices of the restraunt's bar program which I really appreciated. The food was fantastic. The Wild Mushroom Picatta was so flavorful and the meat eaters at the table said the chicken was insanely tender. It's right there in the middle of the action in highland park so it would be a great place to get dinner before a show or have an afternoon cocktail outside after thrifting. read more

We had dinner here recently, and it is a place I am already looking forward to returning.  I had the salmon with a creamy tarragon sauce, and it was, in a word: exquisite! It didn't come with anything else, so I also ordered a salad, which was fresh and crisp. My husband had the burger and the pasta bolognese. He loved the pasta. The burger was just OK. The fries that came with it were, unfortunately, cold but did have good flavor. Greg was our server. He was very friendly and helpful.  The ambiance is absolutely amazing.  They also had a beautiful bar area. The tables are very closely arranged, so be prepared for some noise. Highly Likely is the kind of place that's so wonderful, I almost don't want to tell you about it... but I'm feeling generous today. Not only is this charming spot the perfect place to go for breakfast/lunch or just to to chill out with a coffee and work in their gorgeous backyard, by nightfall it turns into the most stupendous, cozy, candle-lit date spot with a relaxing yet elevated energy. The staff members are SO incredibly kind, hilarious, helpful, and interesting, and treat you like a dear friend of theirs from the moment you set foot in the place. As a queer person, it's so cool to see people like me reflected in a local spot--and the loving energy runs throughout the whole place. Visually, the restaurant is totally energizing and inspiring, with light pouring in from all over. And the FOOOOOOD... don't even get me started on the food--the food is so damn delicious and incredibly well executed--you can absolutely taste the heart and soul that goes into cooking each dish, and feel the level of thought that goes into planning every component. Everything about this wonderful place drips of great heart and intention. My only complaint is that I don't have enough time to come here as often as I want... if I did I'd be here 3 meals a day. My Food Shoutouts: * Their Mediterranean eggs -- one of the simpler dishes on the menu, but it's quite literally a perfect breakfast and many days I choose to look no further * chilaquiles -- YUM * Bodega sandwich -- legendary cheesy goodness. Let me start by saying this...I have never been kicked out of a restaurant in my life and to this day I am not completely sure. This location is one of the most overrated and rudest service I have ever experienced. Never in my life have I been so uncomfortable from the service staff. She was rude as hell when I asked if there was an outdoor table. I came bc of the instagram vibes but this place was not vibes at all. She said you can only sit outside if you order food...I said okay...so we proceeded to the tiniest table. I asked again if there was an empty table she said no. There were a million empty tables. We moved to an empty one bc we thought it was like a cafe and were working on our laptops and as soon as 5 rolled around a guy came straight to me and asked me to close it. I said okay...and he continued to stand there. He then asked in the rudest way possible are you going to order and we said yeah. Then he continued to stand there making me feel so uncomfortable I asked why are u targeting me. Why are you just standing there? Why have you not asked anyone else to close their laptops? Never had I felt to disrespected and uncomfortable bc everyone around us still had there laptops out. The waiter was confused, I was confused. I couldn't even try the food or order bc I was so uncomfortable I had to leave. It's hard to describe but this place is just not chill. Trust me you don't want to go here. Please do not go to this location...it is not as fun or great as they show on instagram! I never even got to try the food. But it's pretty good because I finally got to the try the food at the other location on west Adam's and it's a much better vibe and everyone there is so much nicer and you will have a much better time. I am sure others have liked it and you may disagree but I just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences bc I still don't fully understand what happened. In a below comment they mention that they don't ask people to leave...they absolutely do. All bc of your laptop or I don't really know. I wouldn't be writing this review if it didn't happening. They are just absolutely unwelcoming here. If the other location is better and others are agreeing with you then there must be some truth to it. Ok TL;DR you can skip it if you're here for coffee, but come for vibes (and food even though we didn't try, but looked good) My wife and I were visiting from San Diego, and have wanted to try this place. We both work in specialty coffee, so this came up on our IG. To start off, I never write unsavory reviews, but this experience compelled me to. We spoke with the cashier about how we were excited to see a Fever Tree Espresso Tonic, as that's what we use for the espresso tonics at the shop we work at. The cashier then paused and said, "I think we stopped using that one, and now use Topo Chico." That was a red flag, as Topo Chico is mineral water, not tonic water, and their menu explicitly states "Espresso Tonic: Fever Tree Tonic, espresso, citrus." I then ordered an iced Americano, with a splash of oat milk. When my order was done they handed me a 16oz drink that was very milky, easily looked like an iced latte. I asked them to remake it, as it was nowhere close to the drink I ordered. Their body language indicated they were very annoyed. They then remade me a drink that was an iced Americano with just a "splash" of oat. The shot of espresso was not at all dialed in and had an astringent taste to it, which was very upsetting, but I left with it nonetheless. My wife ordered the Bermuda Triangle, which wasn't a very balanced drink as it seemed overwhelming like it was entirely just ginger beer, and no particularly distinguishable flavors outside of that. All-in-all we were very sad to have this experience, as we have been really looking forward to this place. It is very cute has a great ambiance. I hope they decide to give their coffee program and training a lot more focus in the future. read more

Overall 4.2/5 stars. Got there on a Sunday, it was decently busy at around 1pm, but the line to order moved pretty quickly. Staff were really nice and friendly. I got the breakfast sandwich which was delicious. It did feel a little homemade in a way that I could easily make it at home. I regretted not getting the bodega or breakfast burrito. The black sesame waffle was good, but it could have had more black sesame flavor. Still a delicious waffle. I will say while the since is very pretty and modern, there is t enough shade on the patio. My friend and I had to kind of jump around while people left so we could get a table where we were both in the shade. This was like end of June, so you won't find me on this patio in late July/August. I'd definitely be back. read more

Terrible place. Can't even judge the food or drinks because I was unable to get service from anyone here for over 15 minutes. Mind you it was HALF EMPTY, most people there were staff members. They are extremely well staffed to be providing half arsed service. It's quite embarrassing. The owner was even sitting a few chairs over, didn't even flinch. The two hostesses (yes I said TWO) struggled to find a table for two when there were only 2 tables occupied. I made it easy for them, took a seat at the bar. No menu, no welcome, no server ever approached us. All we wanted was a cup of coffee, but it seemed like the waiters were in fact avoiding us. I came here with a good friend 07/27/24 at 6pm. There were 3 hostesses at the front it was a little jarring. We asked to check out the restaurant first we walked around and it was beautiful and we chose to sit inside. After 15 minutes of being ignored (we looked around trying to make eye contact with any waiter) we finally had a server we ordered the shrimp cocktail it was delicious. The entire time we were there the vibes were off. The staff were looking at us and whispering. To top it off our waitress asked "do you want to leave?" WHICH IS INSANE TO ASK A GUEST. so I said "yes please" and we hightailed it out of there. The food was good but the staff was off putting and made us feel unwelcome. read more
