To make a long story short, I needed to help an elderly relative get some "minor" body damage due to vandalism repaired. I felt like Hild understood the situation and worked with us to get the repair completed as quickly and efficiently as possible, at a very reasonable price. Only note is the waiting room is a little sterile; since sometimes you have to be there for an hour or more, it could use more magazines and a bit of an upgrade to the refreshment station, but again that is secondary to the reason why you are there! read more

I should have left this review long ago. A bunch of kids threw railroad rocks at our cars a few days before Christmas 2020, doing about $7k total damage between both vehicles. Hild did a beautiful job of fixing both. It required an almost complete repaint of our Hyundai Elantra. They also found that the rear bumper had not been repaired correctly by the party who'd had it done before we bought the car at Hibdon... it was basically glued on very badly and needed to be replaced. We didn't have the $200 to pay for it so they threw it in. I'll be eternally grateful for that and these guys are going to get my business as long as they're around. read more

This is a review of the customer service at Hild and I was not even a real customer. I walked in the door to get some advice on fixing the loose fender on my son's Corolla. The manager, Tom, overheard my conversation with the receptionist and came out of his office to help me. He suggested I buy a certain Toyota part, come back with it, and he would get it done. That's exactly what happened. He completely followed through for a random guy off the street for no reason other than helping my son and I. No insurance. No endless phone message loops. No BS. I recently took in my new 2023 Mazda to get it repaired for an accident that involved repairing my driver side door, fender and A pillar. My car has an amazing red color and I was really worried that they would have trouble matching the Soul Red color from Mazda. When I received my car back from repair, there was a slight imperfection that I was hoping they would be able to correct. Gary Cagle, my consultant, listened to my request and willingly took the vehicle back. When I went back to pick up my Mazda, it looked like the brand new vehicle that I purchased earlier this year. Excellent experience from beginning until end! Hild Collision called us to make an appointment as soon as our insurance company contacted them. The check-in process and assessment went very smoothly. They had the information from our insurance company ready to go. Gary Cagle, one of the repair consultants, was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He assisted us each step throughout our process. As the body work on our 2013 Prius V progressed, a few other broken items were noticed. Gary called us immediately so that those parts could be repaired and covered by our insurance claim as well. Gary was within the time frame he estimated for the repairs to be made. Our Prius was returned, looking like nothing had ever happened. The red paint matched perfectly. I can not recommend this place enough. I was doing yard work with our tractor and looked behind me to check for my kids before i started backing up and i hit the top of my brand new expedition with the tractors bucket. They were prompt on getting me in and kept me updated and sent pictures throughout the whole process and actually finished 3 weeks before they said they would. I did have to come back for a window that came in broken and when i picked it up, they had washed my truck and put some gas in it for me because they knew i was coming with my 4 kids and they didn't want me to have to stop for gas. I brought my vehicle in ended up finding out they have no idea how to work on high end vehicle! My vehicle came out with more damage then when I brought it into them! The paint was not coated high end quality I can see the tip of where the damage was starting to chip! My vehicle hardware wasn't fastened & some were missing! I had to take my vehicle to certified collision center out of town who knew more about high end cars & explained what was wrong with my vehicle & caught the damages set by Hild's. If you have a BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc., don't bring your vehicle to Hild. Take your high end vehicle to a specialist of your automobile's make. Hilds service advisor did not list everything explained to them and did an incompetent job that ended up into a disagreement between us and their manager. Therefore we had to take our vehicle out of town to a specialist to correct Hilds' errors which included damages to our alignment in which they had taken to a local Redding alignment shop. Took time off work and had a coworker drive out with me to have minor body damage repaired. Two staff came out and did a quick once over and asked about insurance estimate. Yammered on and on about how they don't know what caused the damage despite the fact I explained it to them very plainly so a child could understand. Said they need insurance estimate to figure out the damage and cost. I think we all know why. I didn't have any and cannot get the estimate as it was below deductible and they never sent one. So they blew me off and wasted my time along with my coworker's. Went somewhere else and was taken care of promptly. If you do not have the insurance docs do not bother coming here. My family and I got hit by a driver who backed into the corner of our bumper in a Starbucks parking lot. My mom was visiting, and we were just getting coffee before heading out to show my mom Burney Falls. Not to mention that we love our little Mazda 5, so it was a big bummer. Thankfully it was still functional, so we were able to take our trip. We reported it to our insurance of course, and I we had to select a body shop. I already knew the name of Hild Collision Center because Redding is a pretty small town. Checked Yelp just to be sure, and it had 4-1/2 stars, so it was a go. I told the insurance and they communicated with Hild. My wife stopped by for a fairly quick estimate appointment. Hild sent it to my insurance. After my $500 deductible, the insurance covered the rest of the cost of the repair. After the insurance company sent the check, we set an appointment for the repair. We had rental car included on our insurance, so my wife got a car from Enterprise for the couple of days that Hild worked on our Mazda. They fixed it up good as new, and even vacuumed, scrubbed her filthy hubcaps spotless, and did other things that I would call "above and beyond." Steve Wyatt and he treated us really well..exceptionally well in my book; but who knows--maybe that's just normal customer service at Hild. I don't know, but our experience was perfect, and the pictures tells the story better than I do. Yes I'm a nerd, so I edited it up to see "Before" and "After." A deer ran into my car (yes, I am saying this because I didn't actually hit it, it ran into the side of my car even though I tried to safely avoid it) None the less, I couldn't open my driver side door, I knew the outside was smashed up pretty good and I was so shaken up and couldn't think straight on what the next steps should be. When I called I talked to Josephine, I told her what happened and she said "First, are you okay?" Those 4 words meant the absolute world to me in that moment. She walked me through the process, had actually had an open spot and said for me to come straight there so she could see if one of her guys could get my door situated to where I could open it and at least get by until the insurance and repairs take place. When I got there she took photos, and had one of the techs there, Todd, help situate the door so it works perfectly for now. Not only did Hild repair the car expertly, they also detailed my car while it was in their hands. The car came back to me cleaner than it had been in a long while. Even the crevices in the dash were spotless! They also offered me a ride home when I dropped the car off, and back to pick up the car when it was done. I got sideswiped in Redding. the whole drivers side was damaged. I talked to my insurance company and asked them for recommendations. ll three of them agreed to take it to Gild Automotive. And I'm sure glad I did. They did a perfect job on my Mazda 3. Plus I was kept informed almost to a fault by their company. They were all nice and accommodating there. Especially Wyatt who was assigned to th my claim. He was wonderful through the whole process. I was supposed to get the car back on the 1st. but with supply issues they had to wait for a part. I got it back on the 10th. I didn't care because the other insurance provided me a rental. A few days after I got it back the insurance company called and told me I had to pay out of pocket because the estimated time to be done was the 1st. I told them they had to wait for a part and I didn't get it back until the 10th. The insurance guy told me as far as he was concerned I was on the hook and had to figure it out. Told him that was his job and to basically shove it and hung up. I called Gild and talked to Wyatt. He said let me take care of it. He called back ten minutes later and told me don't worry it's taken care of. So you can see if I were you i would not hesitate to do business with their establishment.
