This chocolate shop is in the cutest quintessential New England house which serves as their shop. There is ample parking and we went during the Christmas season. There are a lot of racks of treats inside so, it was very busy and people were running into each other. But, the shop is very cute and we'll decorated for the holiday season. I had fudge from there prior to this visit but this time we got a variety of chocolate truffles - pistachio, raspberry, peppermint bark, kahlua, Irish cream, s'more, and Hazelnut. They have all been delicious, not overly sweet and sugary like snot American desserts. read more

Kid in a candy shop, heck yes!! Traveling from the Brockton VA. Siri went haywire and kept rerouting me in circles. Pulled into the nearest parking lot. Looked up and saw Chocolatiers.....this major sweet tooth gal said heck yes and jumped out of the car and ran into the building. WTG Siri, I love you!! This addition comes on the heels of their Peppermint Bark's crowning achievement on Oprah's Favorite Things list, and rightfully so! You gotta get yourself some of their decadent cacao creations. I ordered a delivery of chocolate for Christmas. My parents live in CT and I'm in MA, so I wanted to support local, and bring them something they hadn't had before. The chocolate was delicious. The toffee and turtles were crowd favorites, and the truffles were impressive- big and substantial. I mean just wow! I was in Easton just for the day last Friday. I was on my way to the historic Ames library, when I saw a sign for Hillards ice cream. I took note of it, then kept an eye out for the building as I continued on my way. It sits proudly on the corner at a busy intersection, you can't miss it, a neat white two story building with bold purple trim and a big box of chocolates mounted on the roof, facing the intersection. After I checked out the Ames library and walked around Easton a bit, I made my way back to Hillards. I goofed up and drive into the small parking lot facing the street, but to enter the building, you need to park in the lot behind it. You walk into the building and you're immediately greeted with an enormous amount of sweets beautifully packaged and laid out all over the shop. A very friendly employee came over and offered me a choice of one of two chocolates to sample. I went for the mocha latte piece that comes topped with coffee confetti. It tasted as good as it looked. As good as that piece was, and as good as everything else in the shop looked, I like to try home made ice cream wherever I go, so that's what I got. They have a great selection of some really fun sounding flavors, and you can even get frozen yogurt, or a sundae. I went for one scoop of Colombian Coffee and one of Cookies and Cookie Dough in a waffle cone. The waffle cones they use are nice and thick and they're also folded at the bottom so you don't have to worry about ice cream melting and coming out of the bottom as you eat. The scoops they give are generous, and the ice cream is incredibly flavorful. I sat down on one of the few benches they have outside the entrance, and I enjoyed every last bite of my ice cream. It took me a while to finish it too, with how big the portions are. I wasn't at all hungry afterwards, it was so filling. And, this incredible ice cream, plus a fun experience, was under $10! Next time I'm in the area, I will go out of my way to come back here. Tl;dr: Amazing home made ice cream in a aesthetically pleasing shop, at a reasonable price. Plus, friendly staff! Updated Review- Hilliards is the best! Hilliards communicated with me and explained that the waffle machine was broken but has been repaired. They are back to making Waffle cones I went there today and got a Cherry Cordial Waffle Cone and I can't wait to go back! The waffle was fresh and crispy and the ice cream was perfect with its large chunks of cherry, and bits and pieces of chocolate! Hilliards is definitely a 5+ star establishment! My family has gone to Hilliards for many, many years. The store has a huge variety of delicious chocolates, fudge and candy that are always fresh. The store also has gifts cups, stuffed animals, cards etc. Today as I was driving up Route 138 and saw their billboard advertising their ice cream in waffle cones. Being that it is a perfect ice cream day we stopped in. My son got cookie - cookie dough and enjoyed it, my boyfriend got the salted caramel and it was pretty good. I chose the cherry cordial and it was perfect. It was creamy, chunks of cherry and small pieces of chocolate mixed into pink ice cream that actually tasted like cherries. I think I have found my favorite flavor! The only reason I gave a 4 star review is because the store didn't actually have the waffle cones that they advertised and part of the reason why we stopped in. What an adorable little shop! Discovered it while driving by Easton and couldn't help stopping by after seeing the homemade ice cream sign on the window of a beautifully maintained house. I didn't realize it was also a candy shop and was greeted with a sample of a delicious pecan caramel cluster. I found the ice cream section of the shop by a sit down area and fall painting on the window reminding me of the changing of season. I couldn't decide on all the choice and was provided samples on request. I was surprised by the black raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt and went with 3 scoops! As a dark chocolate lover, the bitter sweet chocolate was perfect touch in this low fat alternative to ice cream. It was $6.10 and worth it! I would spend more on Pinkberry with the serving size here. The scoops were huge and I had a hard time finishing it. I decided to have my yogurt in the seating area by the window. I enjoyed the sun and the variety of music that was playing. There is even a seating area for little ones. They sell candles here. What is different is they are soy bean candles from a local Bridgewater business. What a neat idea for gift baskets! I believe Hilliards Chocolates is the best spot in town for sweets. They have delicious Chocolates and in the summertime you can stop by and have a most delightful ice cream. You may get your ice cream in a cup or in a cone. The selection of cones is unending. Hilliards has the richest ice cream your lips will ever touch. My personal favorite flavor of ice cream is mint chocolate chip. Although many people are fans of strawberry ice cream I find the classics(Chocolate and Vanilla) even more delicious. I'm so happy, students at UMass Boston were selling Hilliard's Candy Bars today for a fundraiser and I jumped at the chance to have one of their decadent bars. This place was my childhood dream., and probably the reason why I first starting developing cavities. They also make divine ice cream -- their grand manier truffle ice cream made back a few years ago was to die for. The SWAMP is also delicious! This was my first time at Hillards Chocolates and probably my last. In order to receive 5 stars you need to consider more than quality. 5 stars should also include packaging, price, customer service, and Quality. I purchased a pound box of chocolates as a gift which i can not comment on quality however this box 0f 2 pounds of chocolates was $94.85. a .25 tray of fudge for $8.50 and card for $5.95. Total to Hillards was 109.67. purchase 1/7/23. Complaints. Packaging for fudge in rigid plastic containers disguesting plastic vs by the piece and in a paper box like most cand stores. fudge was good quality but I prefer chocolates sparrow in Orleans or Ye Old Pepermint in Andover Ma. Also I hand picked assortment of chocolates but I was not made aware I was being charged an additional price for chocolates for single sm truffels 45.50 on top of 49.35. Lady just kept filling box. I asked do you gift wrap with wrapping paper and girl said no there was a roll of wrapping paper on counter?? They placed a red ribbon on a plain gold box. only sign of Hillard name was plastic sheet inside. 2 women not personable just doing their job. Very 2 star exprience. I cannot rate chocolates as they are a gift however I do not see myself going out of my way to shop at Hillards again.
