Finally realized it is quicker to get up to Hilltop from southeast Boise for a pizza and beer than head into dntn or Broadway for standard stuff. AND the pizza is really fresh and tasty. The best pizza in or near Boise! Definitely worth the short drive. We've tried almost all of their pizza's and they are all amazing. The quality of their ingredients are the best. The crust and the cheese is perfection. The atmosphere is very friendly - the kind of place you just want to keep going back to. The only downside is that they are only open 4 days a week. read more

I have been going to Hilltop Station for 5 years. This family restaurant is more than others. Yes, the food is great. They have pizzas like no other in Boise. The hamburgers are made with specialized meat. The apps and other food are always full of flavor. What makes this restaurant over the top is the owners and staff. Hadn't been in a few years. Stopped in with a couple friends after visiting Lucky Peak. We were seated and attended to promptly. Between me and my friends we had the clam chowder, pulled pork sandwich and Hummus platter. For desert the mud pie. All were served in large portions and absolutely delicious! This review is for their newly rolled out brunch hours/menu. I have always loved Hilltop Station for their unique flavorful food options. So much of what they make is homemade/made from scratch entrees their pretzels, unique flavorful sauces, and pizza dough. They have a large local craft brewery selection featuring several local breweries. I had seen on FB they were starting a brunch service from 11-3 on Saturday and Sunday. It's essentially two items biscuits and gravy and their breakfast skillet. The breakfast skillet comes with potatoes, lots of cheese, and your choice of one of their homemade sauces. You can add protein like chorizo/bacon or other toppings like mushrooms or jalapeños. I went with smoke jumper sauce and bacon. It comes out in a smoking hot skillet..it was so delicious!! One of the best breakfasts I have had in a while. The smoke jumper sauce was the perfect combination of spicy to go along with the bacon, cheese, and potatoes. If you looking for a tasty delicious brunch with a little bit of a scenic drive to boot Hilltop Station is your place!! read more

Two to three times a year I go visit my mom in Idaho and we go for little day trips to view the countryside. It was on one of these trips we happened upon Hilltop Station! Let's start with the the Five star staff... From the beginning to end they were attentive fun and made you feel like a guest eating at a friends house rather than a restaurant. Rosie was amazing and when I was indecisive about what pizza to have she said don't worry leave it to me... She picked a delicious Rueben inspired pizza with a crust that was nice and thin with just enough crispy to make your tongue dance... It was Yummy with a capital Y. ( it's not on the regular menu but is on the secret menu so ask Rosie) Eric the head chef and owner is the one responsible for all the tasty recipes and after years of cooking for friends thankfully decided to share with the rest of us! Tate part owner and Bar man extraordinaire who after a few questions picked an amazing locally crafted beer that I wished I could get in LA... Heather came to our table sat with us and had a great conversation and made us feel right at home. Rosie also sat awhile and we left feeling like we had just made new friends! My mother had the pulled pork sandwich the pork was tender ,moist, and perfectly seasoned! If you don't believe me just ask her! The decor was warm and inviting, clean, and cozy. So glad this place was opened back up and I think it is being done right this time. Much smaller menu, but all of it is fantastic. Pizza menu is very diverse and they are always coming up with fun pizza specials. Salad bar has all fresh made salad dressings and salad choices are always fresh! Daily soup specials are always tasty! Have had their tacos and pork Sandwich and both were excellent. Beer and wine choices are awesome. 6 beers on tap and a big fridge full of choices. Staff is friendly and efficient! Owners are almost always there to make sure everyone is happy! Only a 15 minute drive from East Boise and no problems looking for parking! Make the drive. What a great place to have dinner for my first night in Idaho. Started out with a great local red wine blend, salad bar and an appetizer. We ordered the pizza with pineapple and Canadian bacon and it was AWESOME! Loved the staff and would go back again in a heart beat. My wife and I stopped here after we read online that the pizza was very tasty. We ordered the Smokejumper which an incredible masterpiece of flavor that pleased the pallet with multiple flavors. The service was excellent and the beer selection is awesome from local breweries. The brews are rotated as I recall about every 2 weeks (I could be mistaken on the length of time) I had a blackberry crème ale that was very pleasant and would have liked to have had more. This place is out of the way a bit and no cell service. So if you have family that likes to check their phone so much its distracting this is the place to visit. Terrible over priced lunch. The wife and I ordered two burgers, $8.99 each, you would think for that price they would come with fries, but you get small potato chips with them, no other side. The buns were ice cold, the first time I ever got a burger like that, they were also the type of bread which self destructs half way through the meal. You would think that with their limited menu, the only other hot sandwich was pulled pork, they could get the burgers right. The only saving grace was the meat was not over done, but was pretty flavorless. They were not very busy when we stopped in, so there is no excuse for the poor quality. The wife said it was the worse burger she had ever had. Reading the other reviews, they must specialize in Pizza, but the one I saw go by on the way to another table was about 8" in diameter, thin as a waffer. read more

I passed this place on my way to the Hot Springs. On my way back to Boise my friend and I decided to grab a bite. They make their pizzas fresh and the salad bar was nice. We both got the salad bar and hot pretzels. Holy Cow! The Hot Pretzels were amazing, so delicious, so fresh, and tasty. The pretzel and salad bar was perfect for a light dinner. This location has seen it's highs and lows throughout the years. It's definitely on a HIGH, right now. Our party of 4 walked in just minutes before closing time. Instead of angry glances from the kitchen staff, we were greeted warmly and welcomed to take our time enjoying out meal. Our waitress was knowledgeable, and eager to please. The menu, while somewhat small, covered all the bases; salads, burgers, sammies and a good selection of apps. Our group had a pizza, a burger, a pulled pork sandwich and two apps. Everything was delicious and looked great. The pulled pork deserves a special 'shout out'. Prices were completely reasonable. We'll be making Hilltop Station a regular stop from now on. read more

Great food, great atmosphere,& great service. This one is definitely a diamond on top of the rough. It is a bit of a ride to get to the top of the foothills at that point, but what isn't a time consuming trip anymore in Boise? The chicken, garlic, parmesan pizza was excellent. Good beer selection as well. Salad bar was good too. It is a rustic, western motif with the rough lumber look and an inviting fireplace. They have no problem letting you warm up there before your meal. Rosie, I think one of the owners, was so polite, informative, and energetic. Our servers were great as well. I finally ate at this place last night and I enjoyed it. They've done a great job with the atmosphere - very Idaho, with an updated feel. Their pizza is very tasty and not too expensive and they have an AWESOME beer selection. We tried their beer sampler/flight and it was a real treat - very generous sample portions too. We had great service as well; very prompt and pleasant, answered all of our questions, etc. I can see why this place is packed on the weekends, because it's a great place to stop on your way back from boating at Lucky Peak. My friends say they have had their weekend brunch and it is awesome. Plus, it's a great spot to hit before or after winter sledding on the nearby hills. I'll definitely come back and try their brunch this winter! read more

Have stopped a few times and their burgers, while a tad overpriced, were good. You need to ask for cheese, extra charge, and it comes with a small amount of chips. This last time the burger was over done and bland. The server was rarely seen so we were hungry and ate our burgers anyway. They really need to get servers who serve instead of lolly gag in the back. It's wasn't that busy and the wait time was too long. Could have taken a nap before getting our meal. Don't know if we will stop again. read more
