Sorry I didn't mean to add to this draft. I only went there for a luncheon buffet, the place was large, but scaringly empty. The food I had was decent and I hope the restaurant can survive. I have no idea what the evening trade is like and I really like Indian food, but thought that the selection was a little light, although I ate a fair amount of tasty morsels. As far as I know there are plenty of alternatives, and many have proven to be better. I would love to hear more comments about evening traffic oh, and personal observations. read more

We had buffet on a Saturday. The vegetarian options were pretty limited and the quality of the food was at best mediocre. Dal was salty, dry gobi Manchurian was cold, palak paneer had excess cream, and the rice items wasn't fresh. Mango ice cream was over at 1:30 PM and upon insistence we were given gulab Jamoon that were so hard and cold we couldn't eat . I had high hopes but left thoroughly disappointed. read more

Just tried this place. A few Chinese restaurants have failed here. I'm glad someone is doing something different. I ordered a Nepali goat dish. It was spicy, but very good. My wife ordered Channa Masala, and asked for medium spicy. It would have been too spicy for me, but she said it was delicious. I also had a mango lassi to cool things down. The only thing I didn't care for was the vegetable momo. I'm sure they were well-prepared; it was a personal preference thing. The filling tasted like warm, finely chopped cole slaw. Any negative was quickly outweighed by the friendly service, and hospitality. A gentleman, whom I assume to be an owner, stopped by and chatted for a few minutes...very friendly, and he sent out a complimentary small dessert for each of us. We will definitely be back... I go here whenever I crave for Paneer Momos. They are the only Nepali restaurant around this area that serve the Paneer momos. The restaurant is clean and service very friendly. The only reason I took off a star is. I ordered their Paneer Tikka and it was super chewy. I haven't tried any other dishes except for these two, will update my review after tasting other items on the menu. read more

Tried this place out on a date night and so glad we did. The restaurant was impeccably clean and nicely decorated. What appeared to be the owners were EXTREMELY polite and gracious. Wife and I settled on 'what I remember to be called' the Mixed Grill for 2. I did not see the menu item listed on the web based menu that's why I am saying 'what I remember to be called'. The meal included chicken lamb, daI, rice, and some vegetables. I was a little nervous about the lamb as I have not had real good luck ordering lamb out but it was excellent! Wife and I had plenty to eat and even brought some home. I can't recommend this enough....a diamond in the rough! The restaurant is tucked behind the Starbucks and so difficult to see. Found out when checking out there was an issue with normal area of buffet Food = decent selection but not all the temperatures were correct, 3 stars. My first visit for the buffet and a little disappointed. Guest with dog was NOT a service animal. A proper service animal will have appropriate registration displayed and if asked would show it. Came in for lunch around 1:30 and saw the saddest buffet in town. Most of everything was half gone and never re-filled. Maybe I came too late for lunch? On another note, one customer used his hand to grabbed a piece of chicken from the buffet and threw it in his mouth. I lost my appetite after that. The two stars are for the two items that tasted decent out of whatever they had AND none of the chicken was over cooked...Kudos to that! Delicious Nepali food. Their food tends to be on the spicier side for me even with customizing the spice level, but still all very delicious food. This is my husband's favorite spot to get chicken curry. I got the veggie momos and they were very good but very spicy. For takeout orders (all we've ever done) they give you lots of sauce options and wrap them in foil to help prevent spilling in your bag. Since covid, we've been doing curbside pickup and paying over the phone and that has been going well. I appreciate the employee who answers the phone because he's always so helpful to me in making sure something is vegan. He's very glad to ask the chef, which I appreciate. This buffet has the most diverse dishes of any lunch buffet I have found in the triangle. There were multiple meat as well as vegetarian dishes, and housemade samosas that were perfect. I have been to over 20 or so Indian Restaurants and I do not consider myself an expert in Indian Food. We only ordered one entree and it was delicious. The Mixed grill for 2. It came out on a sizzling platter with plenty of meat and vegetables. It came with some excellent rice, and side of Dal. The Naan bread was awesome and we ordered a second order. I will go with AOK because the food was mostly good, the restaurant was clean and appealing but it was the oddest experience I have had in a very long time. . . We arrived around 7:45pm on Friday and there were maybe 4 tables occupied. I was seated immediately and was brought complimentary poppadoms which was appreciated. The mint sauce was refreshing and the plum? sauce was watery but sweet. I was given cold water without ice and I asked for a drink menu. The waiter brought me a short wine list and said they also had beer and I noticed they had a full bar. He assured me that he could make me whatever drink I wanted. I asked for a Midori sour. After a pause he asked me, "Do you have a second choice?". I explained it is just sour mix and Midori melon liquor and he looked befuddled and stammered, "Yes, but if I can not get that for you what else would you like? " I said a vodka with Sprite would be fine. What I got was a vodka and soda water with (again) no ice and the biggest slice of lemon I have ever seen on a cocktail. When he did ask how it was I did mention there was no Sprite. He then mumbled something about how there are two buttons - one for soda water and one for Sprite - and he did ask if I wanted him to take it away. It was terrible tasting but I decided to just keep it because I was not sure what else I could ask for that would be simpler than vodka and sprite. =) He was just so odd about it all. It gets stranger from there. We ordered vegetable samosas and chicken momo. It took quite a long time for the food to be prepared but we did not mind as we were not in a hurry and had not seen each other for months. We had a lot of catching up to do. She got wine to be safe and a server delivered something that was not either of our appetizers. She confusedly conversed with the waiter who came and said we had indeed ordered the mix pakora (which sounds NOTHING like vegetable samosa nor chicken momo). I pointed to the menu and he said simply, it will be fixed. His behavior was just off and he mumbled a lot which made communicating difficult. After another long period we got the samosas and while the exterior was really hard and the inside not very seasoned, it was very very hot and we were famished so I'm not sure if I can accurately judge its culinary aspects. By the time the momo arrived I was no longer gnawing on my own arm so I can say that I enjoyed them immensely and the accompanying "special sauce" was indeed special. We had ordered the garlic naan and the butter chicken to split for our main entree. The naan was very good and fresh and very garlicky. The butter chicken was not what I was used to. The sauce was thick and very buttery and delicious albeit very mild, but the chicken seemed to be tandoori chicken and I've never had that used in butter chicken before. All the butter chicken I have ever eaten have tender morsels of chicken. I do like tandoori chicken but the pieces in our dish was dry and I did not like it as much. Looking at their menu again, I see that they do say that the chicken is roasted in a clay oven and then folded into the sauce so perhaps this is the way they make it. I asked for spicy mango pickle (relish) and they brought me sweet chutney. So the food is AOK but the service was odd in that the waiter did not seem to communicate well and his promises to mix me any drink I want was hardly true. He and the server also hovered over us off and on asking if everything was okay and yet we had to ask for the bill. One of them asked one check or two and we said two. She brought us one. When we asked it split down the middle, the male waiter returned and said that was not possible due to the machine but if we paid with cards he could just charge each card half. So we took that option. They were cleaning up around us and got the hint to get ready to leave when they accepted one more table right at closing time. I'm really indifferent about this place - I was looking forward to trying it and I can see a lot of people liking it but I would suggest coming at lunch when you can serve yourself. read more

Finally had a chance to go here for lunch and I wasn't disappointed. Great staff and delicious food! We ordered the mixed pakaura and tareko aloo, as well as garlic naan, salad, kheer, and halwa. I ordered the aloo spicy, and it was perfect-not hot enough that I need a lassi. I liked that the garlic naan was subtle in flavor, instead of overpowering, like in some restarants. It's going to be tough for this place to survive for too long due to poor quality of food. The triangle area has countless Indian restaurants and the competition is cut throat. Still, this place decided to name it 'Himalayan' to become the third or fourth with this kind of name. The food, I dropped in for a buffet on a Saturday afternoon and I'm sad to report this as the worst buffet of the triangle area. The only appetizer for vegetarians was Pakode and Samosa which were less filled veggies and more with oil. There was chicken biryani which was dry and chicken pieces smaller than a grape. Tandoori chicken was loaded with food color and dry on the inside. Desserts were disappointing too. Gajar Halwa was dripping milk and gulab jamun were dry. This is a huge place that can accommodate over 150 people but it is already running empty. With other places serving great quality and quantity in the area, I wonder what will bring people back to this restaurant. I ain't coming back. read more
