Although the flavor was great, please be warned. I ordered Nepali Khashi which is a spicy stewed goat in a thickened gravy and half of it was chunks of what looked like neck bones. I have been looking for an authentic Himalayan dining experience and this is it. When you first walk in, you see how nice the place is. I really wasn't expecting it to be so nice, and the bar is exquisite. We went for dinner on a Friday night, and the service was excellent. The appetizer was brought out and it was delicious. There were only two of us, and we each ordered a main course. Honestly, I believe it was enough people food for three or four people, and included soup. They used the perfect blend of spices in each dish and it was a delight for the taste buds. We plan to come back one day soon for the lunch buffet . If you are looking for a very nice place to dine with amazing food and excellent service, look no more. Himalayan Grill has only been open for a couple of months, but they already have at least a couple of regulars! read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant not too far from home. We did take out on a Saturday night and the quality, value and portion size was very good. We ordered veg samosa- very tasty and you get 2 per serving, Malai Kofta- flavorful and the portion size was better than other places in the area. We had some leftovers for the next day which is always a bonus. Navartan Korma, also very tasty. It could use a few more vegetables though for the amount of sauce you get with it. The nan was good too. All in all a good experience and we will be back. For those complaining about the restaurant being empty, well, does someone need to tell you we are in the middle of a pandemic! Hoping these folks can ride it out until this blows over because although there are many Indian/Neplalese restaurants in the area, this one is above average. read more

Great, great food. The Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy and savory. The rice was cooked perfect, not too dry or too mushy. The garlic naan was just great! Portions are big and enough to share. Place it's big with many tables and space for large parties. There were only a few tables busy but don't let the lack of crowds deter you from eating there. Dined here for the first time yesterday evening. It was a delight. My first impression was of a welcoming, clean, tidy and calm atmosphere. The owners were welcoming without being cloying -- it felt more like a visit to a home than a business. The food showed equal care. Everything was fresh and tasty. There were 3 chicken dishes; no goat or lamb dishes. Very limited choices. It was a Saturday. There were four other tables. I don't think it will survive. The 5-star rating is fake! Really great food. My wife really enjoyed the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Chicken Biryani was fantastic. Very clean and service was great.

The buffet selection is fantastic and not too spicy. Plenty of great flavors and unique dishes. Although we usually go for the lunch buffet, the dinner menu is incredible as well and you can select your preferred spice level. The staff are polite and helpful. We just went to the Himalayan Grill for the first time and can't wait to return! We went for a weeknight dinner. They were not very busy but I expect that will change. The food was excellent and plentiful, and the staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive. The complimentary poppadums were a delicious start. We then had the mixed vegetable pakora for an appetizer, and the chicken tikka masala and jhaneko dal for entrees. All were fresh, with the perfect amount of spice. We also had plenty to take home. We have tried most of the Indian and Himalayan spots around Cary and this is by far our favorite. Highly recommend. read more

This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant and a MASSIVE, MASSIVE upgrade from any restaurant that has occupied this location in the past. I came here for a weekday lunch buffet and was blown away by the quality of everything that was offered. I often bake my own naan and prepare several aloo, tandoori, and butter chicken recipes and was very happy with what I found here. I can only hope that they will find the critical mass of customers they need to stay here for a very long time. Cary residents should all try this restaurant. read more

Came here for my Birthday lunch for the first time. We ordered Momo made with chicken, naan, basmati rice and half Tandoori chicken. Everything was delicious! Big portions! Momos were really the only good thing here. We got the shrimp curry and chicken tikka and both were not great. Lots of sauce and not much food. Sauce tasted very much like tomato soup and lacked curry flavor. I'm kinda surprised this place had 4.5 stars. It was very mediocre. Just go for the momos. read more

I went for the buffet at lunch and I was surprised it wasn't more crowded. Maybe because it was a rainy Monday. The atmosphere is very nice. Every dish I tried was delicious. The bread was fresh and tasty as well. The staff was friendly, and my water glass was kept full. My only issue was that I wish there had been a couple of more vegetable dishes. I loved all of the chicken and the rice dishes, but I like to balance that with more vegetables. I will go back again. read more

We had never tried this place so with myself, two kids and grandchild we gave it a try. Don't get a booth unless you want a roller coaster ride. The backs of the booths are broken, like a broken recliner chair. These need to be secured before someone gets hurt or a fight breaks out. Onto the food. I will say regarding flavoring, it is way behind the other Himalayan restaurants in the area, at least for the dishes we had. The rice was ok but seemed maybe a little overcooked. My dish even at mild spice was completely bland like no spice. When our dishes were brought out the server messed up telling us about two of the dishes and we didn't catch this until some time later (it mattered because one in our party hard to use the restroom and came back to half their portion gone). By far the area that needs improvement is attentive service. I know this is a hard industry to make a living in, servers do so much. But I have to be honest that here they were below expectations. I'm glad we tried this place. But there is no reason to go back. read more
