I ordered the peach mango tea with regular ice and sugar, which I very much enjoyed. It was ready within just a few minutes. I wasn't feeling ramen, so I instead ordered 2 appetizers: the pork belly buns and shrimp tempura. The pork belly buns were delicious! The bao bun bread was soft, the pork belly had a lot of flavor, the crunch from the carrots and cucumbers added texture, and the 2 sauces added more flavor. A waiter never came to our table at all because this is a self service restaurant. We tried Hiro after seeing all the positive reviews. It's a stand alone building, that probaly used to be an old fast food restaurant (Arby's or Wendy's). They had 3-4 employees standing at the counter but when we went to order, they directed us to the QR code on the tables to order through the website instead. That is infuriating to me. I understand allowing guests the option to order online from the table, but for someone that likes to ask questions about the menu and perhaps make substitutions, ordering online doesn't cut it. If we wanted to order online, we would've gotten take out. Especially when the employees were just standing at the counter doing nothing. Okay I digress. After we ordered, they have a robot that brings out the food. Interesting to say the least. I tried the White Peach Tea and Chicken Rice Bowl. The tea was like $6 which I felt was a bit much for flavored water. It was also loaded with sugar so I don't think I would get it again. The chicken rice bowl had a good portion size and the vegetables seemed fresh. The seasoning was lacking -- just some teriyaki sauce on the chicken but nothing else. Felt like something I could've made in my own kitchen. To top it off, you are expected to bus your own tables when you finish eating. I live at the end of Gahanna that's closer to New Albany & this place is kind of far & so I'm not always optimistic about getting food that spends so much time in transit. Drove really out of my way for this one after seeing it on TikTok/IG ads. Well worth the hype! My friend ordered the Chicken Udon noodles which were of pristine thickness and tasted just as good as they looked online (and in-person!). Hiro Ramen is my family's current favorite ramen shop in Columbus. It's more of a quick service fast food vibe as opposed to a full service sit down restaurant theme that the other ramen shops in town go by. Because of that, the ramen here costs slightly less than other ramen shops in town. You place your order on your smartphone and a robot brings all of your order to your table. My kids love that, and it's actually an additional reason for going to Hiro Ramen. Now, the most important part: the food! They have good noodles and good broth. The serving portions are generous and you get more toppings compared to other ramen places in town. The broth was rich and flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a bit of a bite. The service was mostly performed by robots (which my 5 year old loved!) and that was a good thing because the actual people working were not super friendly. They were not rude, but also didn't seem happy to be there and couldn't accommodate a simple request to not include the noodles in a friends order even though he was willing to pay for the full bowl. So, for no logical reason, my wife and I have been eating at a lot of local ramen restaurants lately. It makes even less sense when you consider the 80-90-degree weather outside. Having tried a couple of other places, we finally found a true gem in Hiro Ramen. The place is quite unique - you place your order using a QR code on the table, and a robot brings your order to you. The ordering process is very straightforward, and each item on the menu is fully customizable. You can even add notes to take this customization to another level (e.g., we added a note to change our ramen's broth to chicken-based instead of the default pork-base. Or, you can add a note to make your chicken bowl extra spicy). This ordering and robotic delivery process was a huge hit among all age groups of our party. We ordered the Veggie Gyoza, the Chicken Curry Ramen, the Curry Chicken Bowl, and the Chicken Udon. Everything was excellent - all the dishes were very flavorful and right level of spicy. The portion sizes were also generous. Another reason I like Hiro Ramen so much is their drink menu. Unlike other ramen restaurants where drinks are an afterthought, this place is worth a visit just for their drinks. They seem to have a sensor so that they can see in front of them in order to move. I'm sure they're programmed to know where the tables are located. We ordered takoyaki to share. It was okay. Presentation was good, but it was a bit mushy and kinda bland on the inside. We both chose ramen as our main meals. I got the Gyuniku (Beef) Ramen, while my friend got the Shoyu Ramen. As another review said, it felt like they skimped on the meat. The Gyuniki ramen could've had more beef in it. Otherwise, I really liked what I got! Not a bad portion size. My friend thought her Shoyu tasted off...like it was missing something. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she really loves Fukuryu and may've been comparing it to that. I also ordered the rose hip milk tea, which a staff member told me is one of the popular choices, other than the classic and the amber milk tea. The bubble tea was decent. I chose 50% sweetness but could've done 25%. I didn't really taste the tea in it, although the rose hip had a fantastic flavor! Staff was nice though! They walk around to make sure people are doing well and if they have questions. The food didn't take long to come out either. We must've waited 10-15 minutes? Overall, a fantastic option to have around here! Seems like Columbus is trying to expand the ramen options. And it's reasonable prices here too! read more

You gotta see this! It's a brave new world! Order, pay, and service at the table totally contactless except for these cool robotic servers!!! Friendly staff - is a family owned and operated restaurant. Very exciting concept here at Hiro Ramen & Tea!!! I talked with Norman, the Son In Law of the Proprietor. He was excited for what Hiro is bringing to Columbus, as am I. The food was fantastic, hot, fresh and generously portioned. The shrimp tempura was particularly tasty!
