Red Crab Salad, Chicken Katsu Curry, CA Roll

No frills tiny shop selling Japanese food - sushi, katsu, udon, teriyaki, etc. Ordered the Ocean Salad ($6) + California Roll (+$4) and Chicken Katsu Curry ($7) with California Roll ($5). These were the menu item prices but the total came out to be $34 (?) Nevertheless, delicious. The Katsu Curry came in great portions and was perfectly spiced and hearty. The CA Rolls were a little heavy on the rice but were also good. Yummy Crab Salad had real crab and crispy, fresh iceberg lettuce. Called for takeout - it was ready very quickly.

Since we live in the Eastside and rarely visit Seattle, we have not visited Hiroshi's Catering before. Today we had a meeting in Rainier Valley. And after the meeting we stopped by at Hiroshi's. There is no parking lot and it took me a while to find a parking space on the street. It is an unpretentious building shared with an accountant's office. When we entered the building, we were greeted by an middle aged Asian lady. There was no other customer. We looked at a large menu on the wall and found that the prices have gone up from the previous photo on yelp (Oct 2023). I ordered pork katsu ($12), my wife chirashi sushi ($19), my son gyu don ($12). It took about 15 minutes to get our food. There is no dining space in Hiroshi's. So, we drove home and ate the food. We liked the food. They are not great, but not bad either.

Great spot for lunch or a quick grab. I came here for lunch one time and the service was friendly and I got my order pretty darn fast as well. I got their Ebi Katsu. Which is fried shrimp. It was cheap and tasty, the only thing I would add is maybe a soup that comes with their order that will be perfect combo. Overall, a nice comfort place to go for lunch or if you are craving for some Teriyaki.

Delicious!! It's not 5 stars bc there's no parking and you can barely see it if you're driving by. But the food and service was excellent. Called it in and was ready as soon as I got there. I had the chicken katsu curry. Takoyaki. And dragon roll. Oh and it came with a free salad. Nice hole in the wall eatery. I definitely recommend and look forward to trying out their other dishes. Support small businesses.

Hidden gem. This was a great place for quick, fresh sushi. I loved seeing the pictures on the wall of the presumed owner with famous athletes. Such a happy man. I got the sushi combo 1 and Washington roll, both were tasty. They also have speciality dishes like garlic shrimp which I didn't order but the picture looked good.

I am THRILLED as someone who grew up in California eating Yoshinoya to find a place in my neighborhood making Gyu-don. This was an emotional, nostalgic meal for me, far more valuable than the $9.91 it cost. The beef is not sliced quite as thinly as Yoshinoya but that's ok, better than nothing. The lady that took my order via phone had a very pleasant manner. The bag was packed neatly with the bowl, napkins, and a thoughtful placed chopstick on top. I'll be back!

Hiroshi's does boxed sushi at various locations like Uwajimaya and Safeco. I'm not sure why I was hoping for any better than the boxed version I've tried before. Surprise to me (but no one else), the cali roll was the same quality as the boxed version - a strange sour taste and too rice-heavy. The takoyaki was soggy and didn't have enough octopus. The udon was not bad. A little on the salty side, but hits the spot if you're craving udon. The gyoza had a tasty filling and, even though deep-frying is a total cop-out cooking method, I liked the crunchy potsticker wrapper. The rice in the salmon teriyaki was terrible. It honestly seems like they don't wash it before cooking. The side salad was basic; just a creamy dressing that was too dense to pair with salmon. It was too bad that the rice and salad weren't great because the salmon was delicious. It was sweetened with teriyaki sauce and cooked through without being too dry. I might be back if my cravings for udon or gyoza matches up with the hours that Hiroshi's is open, but it's definitely not my first choice.

Super excited that Hiroshi's Catering joined Beacon Hill. Pros: Chirashi bowl for $15 The prices are good/ but close at 6pm. Seahawks fan and pictures on the wall with the players! 12th man flag. They have assortment of food including teriyaki, katsu, salads, yakisoba and fresh sushi. You can use credit card or cash. Great value for the price and I will forgive any customer service due to being new. Cons: No sit down only take-out or catering No diet soda or diet drinks or fountain drinks. You can see the owner preparing the sushi or the other chef cooking the food not sure if it is a good thing or bad through from front when ordering. No parking lot, have to find street parking which is very limited. No sushi bar. No pictures so you better know what you want. Not great customer service up front. I like to support my local businesses, and I welcome Hiroshi's to the neighborhood. They aren't the best at sushi and best Chirashi bowl but still great value at $15 and California rolls for $5. Do give them a try if you love Japanese food.

View from street - easy to miss but worth finding!

I agree with another reviewer (I had the seared salmon bowl when I first went) and I loved it - but I am a minority because I know the quality of the salmon was super high and I don't require a lot of sauce to enjoy it. But every time I get the mixed chirashi sushi donburi, it is just "beyond expectations." I have now gone almost a dozen times, and it feels like a treat to bring people there - Georgetown in itself is a bit of a surprise, parking is tricky but there is parking lot and the hours are great (I think till 9:00 daily) and the people and service are wonderful. My friend who speaks Japanese talked to the owner and he started this restaurant in Japan and brought it to the Seattle area about 5 years ago. It feels totally authentic, Japanese owned and run, and the quality is consistent every time.

The taste was unfortunately very bland, no significant sear in the salmon, and the soy sauce didn't add anything memorable to the bowl. The Una-Gyu Don wasn't bad, but the broiled eel with sukiyaki just wasn't special enough to make you crave it again. The location has a parking lot next door at least. Internally the dining space is narrow and fills up quickly at opening times in the weekend. Order at the counter or kiosk, and they'll deliver the food to your table, which you bus yourself at the end.

They don't take phone calls or reservations online - very old school. Which I think makes it more desirable. We ended up getting a special room with a "chabudai" style table! I was super excited because I've never experienced it before. What I did find pleasant was that although it was a lower table, there was an opening beneath the table that allowed your legs to hang rather than having to sit Indian style. Tyson was an amazing server. Was attentive, accommodated our allergies and was thoughtful with us having a young child. He was so pleasant and polite! We enjoyed the following: Baked miso glazed eggplant - YUM and melts in your mouth. Black Miso Cod Collar - this was pleasantly surprising and so delicious. Eat bite was tender and flavorful. Simple yet so appetizing. Sushi rolls were both fresh and well prepared. The nigiri was also great and fresh- not fishy. We additionally ordered takoyaki - which I normally don't love but this one was very tasty and I enjoyed the texture. Lastly karage chicken which came with a creamy slaw. Overall it was such a pleasant experience and we look forward to coming back!
