    Mac and cheese was BLAND!
    Joy O.

This neighborhood gem was a nice spot for a chill late brunch, early dinner vibe. I was able to get parking right in the front and seated immediately when I entered. I had the deviled eggs, wings, and the stuffed salmon with mac and cheese, spinach and mashed potatoes. The deviled eggs and wings were so good. The salmon wasn't stuffed and the sides were VERY BLAND. They didn't have any mocktails, so I was disappointed in that, and the service was a bit inconsistent, but they were nice and responsive when they were attentive. It did take awhile for me to get my bill bc they were on the phone or hanging outside. This is a place I could hang out, relax and get some virtual work done. I also liked that it is black-owned. Shrimp&Grits along with a Purple Reign is amazing for brunch my friend ordered the steak, eggs and potatoes with a Honey please. We will definitely return. Nish and the supporting staff are Excellent!

Came to meet up with a friend. Street parking. Was $2.25 max an hour. Park mobile Think the DJ was playing music from a streaming service like Pandora. Chill mix of early 2000 music. Happy hour when I came and sat at the bar. Ha salmon bites with remoulade . they were good but soooo hot lol. I should have waited ten mins for them to cook down instead of burning the inside of my mouth lol . This place has locals and I can see why . Glad I came to finally check it out

Came here for brunch, left wishing we hadn't. Let's start with the good: the ambiance is okay, and the bathrooms are clean (always a plus). But unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. Service was just okay, but the experience went downhill fast. First, the music kept cutting out, so we got to enjoy the soothing sounds of their iPad clicking through the speaker instead. Then, they were out of coffee--at brunch. A bold move for a brunch spot. The food? Clearly frozen, barely passable, and somehow not cheap. They also charged us $4 extra per meal for sausage--even though our dishes already came with meat. We would've said something, but we didn't even notice until we looked at the receipt after we left. And the real kicker? A sneaky, undisclosed 20% "service charge" tacked on, which we didn't realize until after we had already tipped another 20%. So in total, we paid 40% in tip and service. Absolutely ridiculous. If we had caught the charges earlier, we would've spoken up, but the fact that it wasn't made clear upfront? Total scam!! Moral of the story: save your money, your taste buds, and your sanity. Plenty of better brunch spots out there.

What a wonderful little place! While visiting from the ATL, we found this gem on Yelp and decided to stop in. As soon as you walk in, it feels like home! Everyone is friendly, it has such a chill vibe and you just know the food is going to be SO good! And it sure was! My partner had the Crab Hash while I stuck to my classic favorite, Chicken and Waffles! The Crab Hash was full of flavor with peppers, onions, potatoes combined with some juicy crab meat! He ate every single bite of it! My C&W was so flavorful and not as dense as a lot of recipes. This waffle was the perfect blend of sweet with the crispy savory chicken that made it just fantastic! If you're in the DC area, make the trip to His & Hers! They're a step above!

the service was good and the food was, as well! happy to try this food spot for the first time with my friends for his 22nd birthday! the top floor is calm and a bit underwhelming, but we need to explore the downstairs!

Cool dive. Nice staff and chill atmosphere. I met a friend here and for a while we were the only customers. The catfish tenders were tasty and I enjoyed the sauce. The fried cauliflower smelled odd to me so I didn't taste it but it looked good. For the portion sizes it was overpriced. I can't say if I'd go back or not... Maybe.

The cutest brunch spot! I ordered the steak and eggs, which were awesome. Our server was the absolute best (shoutout Steve). Not to mention how cute this cafe is decorated. Such a vibe! If I was a local, I'd be here on a regular basis.

I would've never thought to put those two items together but it was easily one of the best lemonades I've ever tried. I had to order a second one when my daughter decided my drink was now for her. Speaking of, my daughter ordered the Nutella Stuffed French Toast and rated it a 100/10. While waiting for my order, I had a chance to speak with one of the head chef's and he told me about the culinary program their offer to teach refugees culinary skills. I loved hearing that tidbit about the shop and found it truly admirable. Overall, my only gripe is the street parking situation can be a little tough but it wasn't too bad on this particular morning.
