Garlic shrimp is another favorite dish we loved from those northshore food trucks. Half dozen of good size shrimp cooked perfectly, garlicky, buttery, salty, slightly spicy served with rice, a side of green salad and mac&cheese. The spam musubi was ok (but how can you mess up spam and rice?). The rice to spam ratio was a lot more rice than i wanted. The macaroni salad was probably the better item on the plate. I wont go back; The food wasn't bad, but it was great either. I rather find a Ono Hawaiian BBQ or L&L for my Hawaiian food craving.

Although I support their endorsement of the festival, their service and food was a mess. When I stepped up to the truck, there was already a crowd of unserved customers standing around. Most were waiting for sweet potato fries and vegetarian burritos--not my personal preference, but it was a theater crowd. Their deep fryer was malfunctioning, however, and even with three cooks they couldn't produce a burrito in under 20 minutes. I ended up with an ear of Mexican street corn with cotija. Alright, but certainly not of the flavor and caliber of garnished elote found commonly in Los Angeles. I also paid $8 for a ridiculously small carnitas burrito that barely lasted a three block walk. It was spicy and had the loose meat texture without coming apart in the bun. I can't imagine it being any better. First unlike a couple of other trucks in town, the Bowers people understand the need for an excellent bun, they grill a French Roll and turn it into Cheese Bread. That adds both flavor and structural integrity to the bun. And it does need that re-enforcing as the sausage is tremendous. My chorister was grilled to order and served hot with onions and peppers. And because I was one of the first ten customers, Todd gave me a side of Crack Fries. I don't know if he was just being generous, or if he is a Crack fries pusher who wanted me hooked and addicted, and waking up at 4 am with a Crack Fries Jones. I sent the vegetarian Black Enchiladas (black beans & cheese) with my boyfriend to work the next day and everyone in his office was 'ooing and awwing' about how good it made the office smell when he heated it up. It was a success, I should probably have saved the screen shots of the text messages he sent me raving about how good they were. Later that day, I had the vegan Green Enchiladas for lunch but added some cheese because I am not vegan and I love cheese, so good! The green sauce is so fresh tasting! The next week I went back to the farmers market and tried the Lentils with red mole (vegan) Torta, again so tasty. When I went to retrieve my food and scanned the pickup code, I was informed that the order had already been picked up. I immediately spoke with the employee responsible for handing out orders from the restaurant. After reviewing my order information, he stated that he remembered the order and had seen someone pick it up earlier. He initially believed the individual was a DoorDash driver. However, after I showed him my order confirmation, he realized that I had placed the order directly through the kiosk and not through DoorDash. I asked if the restaurant could remake my food since someone else had taken my order. The employee went to speak with management and later informed me that they would not remake the order. He stated that incidents involving people stealing food orders happen frequently and advised me to dispute the charge and request a refund. He also suggested that I call the kiosk's customer service number. Unfortunately, when I attempted to contact the number provided, I was unable to reach a representative or receive assistance regarding the issue. I paid for food that I never received due to the apparent theft or mishandling of my order by another individual. The restaurant acknowledged that someone else picked up the order, yet no replacement meal or refund was provided. They are scammers for real. Like at least acknowledge your wrong and make it right!! Do not order from there ever especially if someone steals your food they will not help you at all!!! Also it's in a sketchy ass spot go anywhere else but there!!
