The customer service at this store is literally the WORST I have ever experienced. I came across one employee who was nice enough to help me look for an item. We had no luck so she told me to ask the two women in the front and they can check their stock online. At the front, the rude cashier told me they don't do that, they only have what's out there so there's nothing to check, if I don't see it out there they don't have it. But she could ask her manager if I wanted. I said yes. The manager was right across from her and as I stood there and waited she doesn't bother to even call out to the manager and starts ringing up another customer. I walked over to the manager myself and asked. The manager turned to me and was extremely rude and looked as if I had "inconvenienced" her. After I ask my question, she says no, we can't do that so if I didn't find it, then they probably don't have it. So I show her the item on my phone and ask if she knows if they even sell this item in her store or is it online only, she responded with "I don't know, it's hard to tell without me being over there"..she pauses..as if that's her answer, then slowly turns with an attitude to go check. At this point, I'm disgusted with this entire store and experience so I told her nevermind, I'll get them online and left the store. I will never spend a dime at this location. Anytime I've had some extra spending money, this store has been my go to! I love the fact that they have so much to offer at a reasonable price. Especially that they usually have 50%off on items. I love the handmade signs and rustic items that they sell. I will say that almost every time I've been there to shop they do need more help with ringing the customers up, there's usually one register open and a long line, but it's not that big of a deal. I was standing in line minding my own business and a clearly flustered employee decided she was going to jump down my throat for no apparent reason. There was a line of about 20 people all on top of each other. We were then yelled at by this employee, her name may be Virginia, but I'm not positive. I have attached a picture for the company's reference, but it seems according to other reviews this store has had multiple issues with customer service so I don't see them addressing the problem. I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic, but that does not give anyone a right to scream at anyone, let alone a customer. We asked for a manager so that we could report the employees behavior, but Tiara or Ciara (not sure what her name was) radioed back to the employee that she was on lunch and was not going to come to the front of the store to address the situation..... nice!!! Went in to get fabric and no body was near the fabric area so I rang the bell 3 times and still nobody came. We where waiting there for 20 minutes for somebody to come help us. The customer service manager Emily and cashier Linda who helped me with my purchase were so friendly and sweet. They were careful to wrap all of my garden ornaments in paper and pack them in bags neatly. If Michaels and HomeGoods had a baby, its name would be Hobby Lobby. And it would be one HUGE 15-pound baby. This store is amazingly large. Aisles are wide enough to fit 2 carts side by side, but you would have to be a careful driver. There are no aisle markers anywhere, you would have to ask a staff member everytime where something is. But the difference with Michael's is that there is always an employee around to help you. I did not even see a button to page an associate for the paint section, she was in the next aisle anyway. There are so many things to look at here. Aside from craft materials, they have a VERY large selection of home décor and furnishings. Even a "Man Cave" section, if your guy is willing to have it decorated, lol. Also a good place to look for wedding décor, whether it is DIY or ready-made. However, they can be a little pricey. Come here if you have all day. You will be in line for a minimum of 30 minutes. I've been here at least 6 times, only out of (what I thought was) convenience, as they are the only craft store in the area. Every single time I have waited excessively in line- some occasions because they are short staffed, other occasions they have plenty of staff, but require manager override, or there is some sort of other technical issue. Another side note- don't bother asking the staff questions. They are clueless & cant even tell you where items are located. For a store as huge as this you'd think they would have signs directing their customers where to find things. They literally want you here all day. Good luck. read more

I enjoy shopping at Hobby Lobby and visit this location regularly, but Saturday 11/26/22 Jenna, one of the managers and Linda Z (cashier) did not handle my situation professionally. I visited this location weeks before and purchased a good amount of items as I do pretty often. It was a hectic and busy night during the Christmas sale and at closing. one of my items did not get wrapped properly due to the employee telling me she ran out of paper. She called for a manager but the store being so busy could not get her attention as she was the last register closest to floral. She was an elderly woman, so trying not to make it difficult as she was already overwhelmed, she asked if she could wrap extra bags around it in place. I was okay with that and continued on my way after paying. My item was glass and cracked down the middle of the frame. I had grabbed the last one that night so I figured if I was near another location I could find it there. I did happen to find another at the La habra store but never took the cracked one since I just so happened to be in the area and was not going to have it floating around in my truck. Fast forward to now...I was going to be in the area, thought I could return since it was sitting at home useless and be on my way. I provided the original receipt and even felt I had to show that I did purchase the new one and pulled out that receipt as well after Linda started asking who, what, when and so on! I explained the situation and Linda continued to repeat herself 3 or 4 times interrupting and trying to talk over me about how that couldn't have happened because they NEVER run out of paper shaking her head with a sarcastic laugh. So basically she was calling me a liar to my face and in front of the many people who could hear her around us. I said well I'm not going to argue but okay. If it will be a problem I'm sure I can swallow the $12-15 rather than be harassed about a return! Jenna approached for approval, rolled her eyes after Linda proceeded to explain and again, put her two cents in about never running out of paper. Jenna asked why I just didn't return it when I bought the new one? why??? Because AGAIN I didn't have it..spur of the moment!!! Was it really necessary for the interrogation?! It was just unnecessary and unprofessional on both of their parts and especially in front of my daughter and other customers. I felt profiled and embarrassed that even after looking at my receipt and the hundreds of dollars I had spent that night was still not good enough for them. After I confirmed their names, Linda's tone changed and then proceeded with now my actual purchase (still buying from here!) explaining how Miss Jenna had a long day. TIN SIGNS galore!!! OMG ^_^ What El Hubby and I though was going to be like Michaels with nothing but Arts and Crafts turned out to be more of a home decor store and WE LOVE IT! There were so many awesome tin signs and home decor, tons of picture frames, arts and crafts some furniture and etc. You will surely find something in your style. El Hubby and I spent a good hour walking around oooohing and aahhhing at so many cool stuff. I'm surprised to find the prices to be very reasonable and most stuff were on sale for 50% off. Heck, it's way better than Home Goods. However, we only left with 1 item because we couldn't agree on what to buy #maritalproblems O_o. This store is huge and they have like two employees working. What I buy from here is always locked in a glass case and every time without fail I have to hunt someone down for 5+ minutes to get assistance. I go in today, straight to the glass case and no one is around. I walk out and go to TJ maxx. Literally come back ten minutes or so later, thinking maybe they'll be help if I go in and try again, and literally walked around for 15 minutes and no blue shirts available to help me. Meanwhile, two guys in business casual attire (managers) with name tags that say hobby lobby were walking between the isles (putting stickers on the shelves) never once asked if I needed help. Today I was shopping there with my mom and kids. My mom bought her items. Then when they ran up one of my items (a mirror on clearance), The cashier called up the asst. manager to ask if the clearance price was correct. I had actually asked the girl doing the mark downs if the price was correct and she confirmed indeed it was. So when the asst manager came up to the register he said that was marked wrong and thanks for understanding because they "might all lose their jobs" if they sold it to us. Really?!? Every other time I've encountered a mismarked item the store has honored their mistake, then fixed the other mismarked items. I was very disappointed on the way the asst manager handled it, both on his exaggerated statement of "losing his job" over a few dollars and not honoring their mistake. The Santa Ana Hobby Lobby - This is the worse Hobby Lobby I have ever shopped at. The employees are rude, they are always stocking the shelves, so there are always oversized boxes in the isles and you are unable to get your cart down them. On top of that, they are never stocking the items you are looking for. They think everyone is stealing from them - they have employees following you down isles and watching as if you're already guilty. Then when you need to truly find an employee they are either nowhere to be found or if you do find them they have absolutely no idea where or what the item is you're requesting. But, the real topper is whenever you try to use their coupon they say: "oh, this item is already at its lowest, you can't use a coupon on it." These items are not marked "sale" or "close-out" - they are regular priced items. So, far I have tried to use a coupon on every visit and was told I could not. Why do they even offer a coupon if they are not going to honor it? I will never shop at this Hobby Lobby ever again - the worse employees ever. read more

My husband & I went into Hobby Lobby last night to find my nephew a model kit for his birthday. I'd been to several other stores with no luck. We were amazed at the huge selection of models HL carried! We ended up buying several and will save some for Christmas presents. I've been to HL before but not for quite a while, my husband had never been there before. He was blown away by how big the store was, the variety of merchandise they carried (that he was interested in) and the excellent prices. I love this store, but the person that is doing the ordering for the paint department, oil paints, needs to know the medium. I went in the other day and couldn't find any varnishes by Winsor and Newton. I ended up finding so many different mediums by the company. WOW! How can you have a section for oil paints but have no varnishes by one giant company that is Winsor and Newton? I had to go online and buy from one of their competitors. What was suppose to be a fun, happy day of Easter decorations shopping, ended up in rudeness. I had the worst customer service today in the store with the manager. I believe her name was Virginia. I purchase 2 of the exact same items and when I got to the car, noticed one was much cheaper than the other. Of course I have to go back in because I may have over paid on one of the items. It turned out that one of the items was a little different, it had two pieces to it. Not only did she take one of the pieces away but was not very nice in her mannerisms she and asked if I wanted to return it. She did not give me any options on purchasing it and literally took it away as if I was going to steal it and asked if I just wanted the bottom portion of the item that was for sale. Most business that I have had things like this happen with would tell me to just take it because their was no matching piece. I would have paid the other price if she had offered that but she didn't even do that. I ended up returning a few other items I bought as I walked away upset and in disbelief. Of course HL is the best craft place ever! BUT.. their staff SUCKS! I didn't expect anything less than what the typical Anaheim Hills people act like. I came in by myself during a slow time with tons of staff on the floor within eye contact distance and not ONE bothered to greet me or ask if I needed help, since it was my first time inside this location yes it would have been nice for someone to point me in the right direction so I wouldn't have walked around the entire store. I love all of the products they have but their staff leaves little to be desired, I'm not sure if it was because I was black and not a white girl, maybe I would have gotten better service. There was lots of staff on the floors talking amongst each other, they would make eye contact with me and then pretend they never saw me. I am surprised a Christian organization would hire a person that lacks kindness and care in his job performance. I must say my opinion of this place has changed drastically. It all started when I naively asked for Hanukkah wrapping paper in the 500+ rows of Xmas wrapping paper last year. I got a robotic response from an employee that made me feel like I was part of a SNL skit. Well, after a bit of googling, I realized this company has had quite the unfortunate track record of all things social justice and progressive thinking. I mean, really? cheetah X-mas wrapping paper, but not ONE wrapping paper for Hanukkah or any other non-christian holiday? Anyhow, besides my problems with the company, the actually shopping experience there declined as well. I've had many problems with the workers when checking out. One checker had a really hard time putting the discount for each item and had to check the paper for each type of item. As I mentioned before, the prices are okay, quality is cheap, decorative stuff is cute, but the deals aren't that good to support a company that isn't inclusive of all people. I love Hobby Lobby. I also hate Hobby Lobby because I have never left without buying something. Hobby Lobby is a fantastic store to come to for decor and arts and crafts items. I'm not big on their furniture (even discounted it's pretty expensive), but they do have some attractive pieces...just way out of my price range. Many of the items in my home have come from Hobby Lobby; most recently a farm-y looking piece for my kitchen and a 'vintage' clock for the dining room. My biggest complaints about the store are; they're not open Sundays (I get it, I know why, I just don't like it), there is always only 1 checkstand open with a line that's 30 years long, and their organizational method(s) are a little confusing at times. Some related items are put together, but then you get to another side of the store and bam, wait a second there's more automotive stuff here? Wait I already passed the kitchen section, what are all these kitchen items doing by the seasonal decor? I feel lost and my FOMO sets in....did I miss items I can't live without in my home? How will I ever know if I saw everything!!??!! The store in general is a little overwhelming. Actually scratch that, it's a lot overwhelming, but that won't keep me from continuing to shop there and give them all my monies.. protip: RetailMeNot always has a coupon for discounts on regular priced items, so basically every item is on sale, even if it's not. read more

This was the first time I've been to Hobby Lobby in California. Seeing as I'm trying to run all kinds of various craft projects now, I find this store a lot more useful now. As mentioned before, they have lots of home decor, lots of crosses and lots of craft stuff. I was very pleased to find lots of cheap stuff. This was definitely no Michael's with outrageous prices necessitating a 40% coupon that I've conveniently forgotten at home. Everyone in management seems to be incompetent and rude. James included. I typically shop here a few times a week, but with the rudeness and attitude of management I'm done. I had never heard of this Hobby Lobby place until some coworkers suggested we peruse the aisles to get ideas for our makeshift Halloween costumes. So 2 hours later we ended up putting together superhero costumes from random stuff that we found at Hobby Lobby. I'll admit, I'm not a full blown crafter. I'm more of an outsourcer. Meaning, sometimes I'd much rather overpay for a chalkboard picture frame than buy everything to make it on my own. But with Pinterest and Hobby Lobby I'm letting loose my inner crafter and making things a bit more personal. Then, at least I can say, "I did it!" rather than, "I can't get my nails done, but let me show you these pillows that I bought that I could have made for half the cost!" Anyway, the prices are pretty reasonable because there are always sales and you can Google "Hobby Lobby coupon" and there's always a 40% off coupon available. Don't try to double dip, though. You can either use the coupon or get the sale price. Not both. Beware of the quality of some items. Sometimes the quality isn't the best and you have to remember that some of the items are not functional, but are just for show. Oh, and they're not open on Sundays because they probably go to church with the Chick Fil A people. read more
