Awesome crafts and decor, but I get super frustrated everytime I check out. They don't have a scanning system and so they have to type in the price by hand. When an item doesn't have a price, they wait there until someone goes and finds the price. The cashiers are so slow and chatty, that people in line start talking to each other about how riduculous the wait is. It's not even that they have a big line, it just takes them forever to check out. Also, when you need to return something, the cashier has to call the store manager each and every time to type in a code. Really?? Get with the times. This is a Michael's plus Christian store on steroids. Lots of home decor, party supplies, thematic items, crafts, religious stuff, etc. Fully stocked and lots to choose from. Holidays here must be crazy. I bought a present and card for my pious friend, which was perfect...inexpensive and religious. However, I couldn't find a simple "Get Well" card for an agnostic friend. How uncool is that? Don't get me wrong. I love religious stuff in general, but don't make me go to Target for one card especially since most of the things here are 40%-50% off. And besides, agnostic people need love too. Chatty staff; however, not chatty to costumers but to each other. Won't offer to help you. If you know what you're looking for and you don't mind perusing around here then the lack of attentiveness from the workers here shouldn't bother you. But if you're hoping to go in and out of here quickly, then Good Luck finding what you're looking for. Would I come back? Heck 'yah! I like perusing and buying religious stuff. This store is my favorite store in Anaheim Hills. From the vast array of products to the kind, pleasant, helpful employees, its a great place to go. I've found very unique gifts for the man who has everything here. I also buy my craft items here also. I bring my friends here to help walk around and browse because the energy here is very positive. I Always find something I didn't even know I needed until I saw it! Lol. My husband loves this store too. There literally is something for everybody here. I highly recommend it. I consider Hobby Lobby a necessary evil. I am not really a crafter but with an 8 and 10 year old you get pulled into the crafting world now and again. Hobby Lobby has a good selection of crafting standards, but don't expect to find specialty niche items (coil-less safety pins or large origami paper). Staff is friendly but it's hit or miss if they know where something in the store is located, some know it up and down others seems like it's their first day. They REALLY need to speed up the checkout process though, at least at the Anaheim Hills location. There aren't any barcodes on items they have to pick the section an item came from and then type in the price, so if an item is not marked God help you! Anyway it makes for a looooong wait while checking out. Overall my experiences have been pleasant, other than the checkout. read more

Great selection of items for all sorts of different hobbys and they always have all sorts of wonderful discounts but terrible problem resolution skills. I was charged twice for a purchase made in July and when I called in to have them cancel the repeated charge they were unable/unwilling to help me. They told me they could only find one charge and told me to call my bank instead when I can see on my bank statement that Hobby Lobby charged me for the same amount on two different dates. I love this place! You could spend hours in here looking at all the cool stuff and still not see everything. Great place to get home decor, wall art, metal vintage signs, arts of crafts, and a million other random but cool things you never thought you needed until you saw it. Oh Hobby Lobby, I've been dreaming of a place like you! lol. This place is fantastic! It has aisles and aisles of holiday decorations and craft supplies and has pretty much everything you could possibly need with the exception of their baking supplies. They have themes for almost every type of person and have some excellent decor pieces as well. Only downside in my eyes is that they are closed on Sunday. While I know some people would think this is great, it's just not convenient for me because I work and go to night school so Sundays would usually be the day that I would be able to make it down there. Other than that, I love this place! The first time I walked in was opening weekend. I couldn't stop oohhhing and ahhing over all of the items I had. I love the merchandise, but have dealt with crabby sales clerks, never a big problem till today. I had an obnoxious clerk who rang up my items incorrectly, I wait in line all over again and ask her to check the price on an item that wasn't wrung up at all and she refuses? Why the attitude? I was polite up to that point but that really ticked me off. When I'm leaving, she says in the most sarcastic voice possible "you have a great day". The acting manager and cashier handled themselves so well while this woman verbally berated them to the level I would consider verbal abuse!! My first time here was a pleasant surprise. The store was bright, clean, and well-organized. There was tons of decorative "stuff" ... I'm doing some house staging and it had just what I needed for a reasonable price. The various photo displays and boards have messages that reflect the company's religious beliefs, but hey ... that's what the 1st amendment is all about, and they were easy to ignore in favor of picking up a few easels to use to display some pottery. Usually have everything I want here so I was disappointed to find that they didn't have what I went in looking for that day. Other than that this place is stocked full of many different arts and craft items, I always see items that looks like someone would never need. That's how stocked this place is, plenty of items and varieties of different things that anyone coming here to look for something should be able to find it. The employees here are quick at the register. There are always sales here as well. The scrap booking items were 50% off and the jewelry making craft items were 50% off too. I unfortunately have to give this Hobby Lobby location a 1 star rating. I have given this location many chances before having to write this review but I ALWAYS come out with a negative experience because of the awful costumer service. There was an employee named Payton on the cash register that had an awful attitude and ego. Payton unnecessarily raised her voice at me and was shouting and causing a scene for everyone in line just because of a coupon. Payton did not even let me finish my question and cut me off in such a rude way. There is a way to discuss the issue without having to shout, yell, use aggressive hand gestures, and cause a scene. It should not get that serious. As a grown woman, I expect to be treated accordingly at a store when I am spending my money. Learn some etiquette and train your employees. The manager Virginia also has a very bad attitude towards costumers that many costumers complained about. This store is huge! Very clean, seemed a little quiet but it was early afternoon. Looking for a birthday present and came across a variety of fun flamingo home decor which I couldn't resist posting pictures of. I actually went back to purchase something that I had seen before but didn't get and sadly they had all sold out. With sales and retail me not coupons things I've noticed go quickly and if it's seasonal typically when it's gone it's gone. Very cute holiday decorations already out for Fourth of July. read more

Two stars because I love the product and the 40% to 50% that it gets marked down. However, management (the men especially) are super curt and kind of rude. They never honor the discount, I constanly have to look at my receipt and go back in, they usually honor it, which is good, but cashing out is always slow. They dont scan anythinh they hand key it in, which is super concerning because they are the ones to determine sale. So I bought Halloween lights, all halloween except candy was on sale per the sign, but it didnt "ring" up that way.... kind shady. read more

I agree with others that this store lacks friendly and helpful staff. The cashier also couldn't explain clearly why they don't offer teacher discounts. I found out from corporate that the discount is only for direct orders from schools. Cashier was also rude when she mentioned their 40% coupon and asked if I had smart phone. I answered no and she just stared at me. I proceeded to ask if I could please have the discount. She said no, that I had to show the coupon. Michael's always has a barcode to scan at register to offer customers who don't have smart phone. They also offer a teacher discount. I will stick to Michael's. Corporate wasn't any better. This store has tons of all kinds of stuff. The trouble is, they have no computer access to inventory. If someone does not know where something is, they cannot look it up to even see if they carry it. That is very inconvenient. I wanted some adhesive transfer tape and they could not figure out if they even carried it (I suspect they did not). I will stick to Michaels. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place has everything marked up so high its crazy. Then they occasionally "discount" it to a normal prce, making customers think they are getting a deal. But my main complaint is with how long the check out lines are. Pull up a chair. Load up all three extended versions of The Lord of the Rings and if you're lucky you'll be seen by the time Frodo reaches Mount Doom. Actually, I just realized that the LOTR story is a metaphor for how long the lines are at Hobby Lobby. And its not just this location, its all Hobby Lobby's. Got a return? Crank up all seven Harry Potters. The seriously need to do something with how insanely long and slow their lines are. A grocery store cashier can scan 75 items in a minute. Hobby Lobby, about one item in 75 minutes. Never going back. Waited in long lines too many times. read more

I finally found baskets that fit my need at Hobby Lobby. I was so excited until I tried to get enough of them. My local store only had 2. When I asked if they could see if any other local stores had them in stock, I was told that they don't have a system that can do that and it was best if I drive around or call all of them to try to find them. They have them online, but you have to buy a pack for $70 when I only need one size out of the pack. After going to 3 more local stores and one more out of state, I called the Anaheim location. They have 1. Better than none. They would only hold it for 15 minutes and not until the morning. This has been such a horrible experience that I may return the ones I've purchased and keep looking elsewhere. Too bad because I really liked them and this would have been the thing to get to me to remember Hobby Lobby the next time I have a need for something carried at this types of store. Terrible customer service. Purchased a 4th of July banner. America was misspelled and therefore of no use. Attempted to return/exchange it. Given that this was only a $5 purchase, I did not think it would become such an ordeal. The cashier rejected refunding or exchanging it. She had to call the manager who also rejected the refund or exchange. Unbelievably poor service. This is what service was like in the dark ages. I came into Hobby Lobby a couple days ago in need of supplies to decorate my child's teacher's door for teacher appreciation. I am not crafty at all...but I had a mission and an idea. There were plenty of staff in every aisle and all who I encountered were friendly and asked what I was looking for. It was amazing. I stumbled upon the manager and a staff member in an aisle talking about inventory... But when I came in the aisle the male manager immediately greeted me and asked about my project. He was amazing. He gave me great ideas when I told him my conception. He began going up and down aisles looking for items I could use. All in all...this non crafty person who needs directions to make something...who doesn't have much original artistry...was guided and mentored by the staff at Hobby Lobby. I am grateful to the staff here. It is an immense store. Lots of staff busy in the aisles and all busy working..but all are quick to stop and lend a suggestion if needed. The reason why I chose to write this yelp review was also to commend an employee named Rose. After I had paid for my supplies, I returned home and didn't realize until the next day that I had left my wallet in the shopping cart. I have a severe medical condition and had been undergoing 4 hours of daily infusion treatments at the hospital during this time. Without my wallet, a feeling of helplessness began to set in as all my medical cards and medical information were in that wallet... My husband phoned Hobby Lobby. Rose had indeed found the wallet and kept it safe. She had been trying to locate me, but with no phone number contained in the wallet, she could not. But Rose did vow to keep the wallet safe. And she did, not one item from my messy wallet was removed... Not one penny...book of stamps or anything. Rose kept my wallet safe until its owner could be found and I am so very grateful.
