I wouldn't let the mechanics at Hobson's auto repair work on my lawnmower!! A little over a year ago I brought my 2004 Ford F-150 to Hobson's auto repair for routine maintenance ( oil change and filters) at that time a mechanic by the name of Eric that was working on it told me he heard a bad ticking sound coming from the front of the engine. The shop then determined that I would need new timing chains and tensioners, as well as guides. I proceed to let them do the job. The job took about a week during that time Jim Hobson was walking by my truck with his clip board and hit my truck with the metal end of the clip board leaving a 8 inch long by 1/4 inch wide scratch on the rear of the truck bed on the drivers side. He told me about the accident. But never offered to pay for the repair. Leaving me with the costly bill. Just a few short weeks after having my vehicle repaired I was driving along the interstate and my truck engine began to violently shake with no alarm going off, or codes. I immediately took it back to Hobson's auto repair. They told me that it was low on oil. I asked if there was any signs of a leak and they said no. So how could that be? When I just recently had the service work done. They could not give me a definite answer. But told me to keep checking the oil. I agreed. During this time frame I had another vehicle so I didn't use my truck that often. I even had my second car serviced at Hobson's auto repair. In 2015 I took my second car a 1999 mercury grand marquis in for an oil change. A few days later when I got in the car to go to work my oil pressure gauge was bouncing around. I stopped to check the oil and it was four courts low on oil! Again there were no signs of any leaks! I personally filled the oil to the appropriate amount and never had a problem since this incident. I sold this car in December 2015. In October of 2015 I was driving my truck with my children in the car and the truck lost oil pressure and began to violently shake before stalling out on the interstate. I had the truck towed back to Hobson's auto repair. The proceeded to inform me of what I pretty much already knew. That the engine was junk! Luckily I had an extended warranty on the drive train. Hobson's auto repair and The insurance company decided to put a used engine in my truck. I had some concern due to the previous experience I have had with Hobson's auto repair and During the time of the repair, the secretary Stephanie Hobson assured me that Jim Hobson would be overseeing the project and even doing some of the work himself. I asked the secretary Stephanie if they could take some pictures of the old engine after they get it out of the truck. so I could see what happened. She did so. Turns out the timing chains broke and broke whole through the engine. That was the previous big repair. They said it could of been from lack of oil. Hmmm! After a month of not having my truck. I finally got it back in November of 2015. Immediately I had problems. The truck had absolutely no pickup ( acceleration) A few days later I had a check engine light turn on. I brought the truck back and they scanned it and said the number 2 cylinder had a misfire. The mechanic said he replaced the coil for that cylinder. Still no pickup in the engine while driving A couple days later I had the same problem. The mechanic then replaced the spark plug. Still no pickup. A few days later again the check engine light went off! At this Time I was leaving town for about a week, so I left the truck with them to figure out. When I came back, they said the only thing they could find was a dirty fuel filter. So I said change it! (During the time I was sitting in the waIting room, the secretary Stephanie proceeded to tell me that it was going to be a while, they just had to fire one of the mechanics for not putting oil in a customers car and that caused the customers engine to blow up) a few days later, again check engine light turned on! This went on and on for a total of two weeks. Taking my time away from work and things that I need to be doing. The last day I took my truck to them Jim Hobson drove my truck to verify my complaint. He proceeded to tell me " this was the first time I have driven the truck. I agree that it is a dog. But , there is nothing I can do about it now. I have other customers to deal with. Bring it back another time"... Really this is the 1st time!!!! Since all of this I have had another mechanic look at the truck. I have had them scan the engine due to the check engine light being on. The mechanic found that the the number 2 cylinder coil that was supposed to of been replaced was an old used coil. So thus far I have had the number 2 and 7 coils replaced and the spark plugs. I have spent hundreds of dollars plus losing time at work on something that I should not have. I have also been told that the engine is not in that good shape. read more

My wife Sharlene has been taking her car to Hobson's over +5 years she always happy with outcome,however I have my own professional mechanic who works on my car when needed'however I had a problem that i thought my mechanic was able fix took it back 3 times problem was Not complete"so my wife suggested that I take it to Hobson's & even though I don't like to take my car to different mechanic because of how much LOVE I have for my Daytona Dodge Charger RT and all that I done to it,my wife says take it to Hobson's give Hobson's chance so I did' I am so Happy with work that this guys did on my car the problem was complete I highly recommend to give Hobson's try you have nothing to lose but a try'very happy highly recommended again. read more

Jim and his gang are awesome! Super friendly staff, well priced, and you can tell Jim values happy customers above profit. My car was occasionally shutting off so I brought it in. They replaced parts and took out the computer to check it against the manufacture's system but couldn't find what was causing the problem. They sunk $400 worth of parts and who knows how much in labor into my car and didn't charge me a dime. They even threw in new windshield wipers to boot! I have no doubt of their diagnosis skills, they have helped me out with problems before; but a mechanic who's policy is don't charge unless the car is fixed speaks volumes about their character. read more

They're friendly, responsive, and they explain exactly what's going on with my vehicles. The reason for my most recent service was a starter they replaced last month failed under warranty. They diagnosed it, replaced it, and got us out the door the same day. No cost, no hassle. I highly recommend them for trustworthy service. read more

Jim and Stephanie are great. They run a honest shop with great quotes, quality work and overall honesty. They don't try to upsell you here or tell you this is bad.
