I really wanted to like this place. The only reason I give it one star is because the wings are good. Everything else is downhill. The sauces were basic, such as sweet baby rays. The fries were gross. And it was so overpriced.. 6.99 for a side of fries?? 10 dollars for a side of fried okra?? The worst part for me was finding out that they automatically add 18% gratuity onto the check and she didn't tell me and had me pay at the front so I couldn't see my bill. Seems really wrong to me. Won't be back here unless there's some serious changes. read more

Very nice staff but that's where it ends. The prices are outrageous for mediocre food. I never saw the bill but I guess I was charged an 18% tip fee. I tipped on top of that in the bucket by the register. You get a 3% discount for paying cash but I didn't see either of these things on their menu. I ordered take out. Bowl of chili, corn pudding and hush puppies The chili was so thick!!! The flavor so-so. The corn pudding was nothing like what I know corn pudding to be and who knows when was the last time they changed the oil in the fryers! The hush puppies were so over cooked, a nice burnt and super crunchy crust that permeated the flavor of old, used fryer oil and not the light golden brown, soft hush puppies. My wife and I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon to check out the happy hour. Decent discount on beer between 3pm and 7pm. We decided to eat an early dinner. Wings were on special so we ordered a plate to share. The wings are first smoked and then deep-fried for 4 minutes when ordered, so they come out really crispy. The wings were large and meaty and absolutely delicious. We elected not to have them tossed in a sauce but to apply sauce on our plates so every wing was crispy. We then ordered a half pound of fatty brisket to share, and that was excellent. We did not need bbq sauce because the brisket was melt in your mouth tender and very flavorable. This is real Texas brisket. Highly recommend the wings and brisket! Plan to return very soon. read more

Friendly people but mediocre food. Simplify your menu and update what you serve, such as better fries, BBQ sauces, and Texas toast. Fix your refrigeration so that you do not serve a burger with frozen lettuce, tomato and onion! Biting into a burger with ice is not acceptable. Overall, our Friday night dine-in experience does not have us desiring a return trip. To knowingly serve a burger with frozen condiments is bad business. read more

I consider myself a BBQ snob having held many Carolina pig-pickin's in our backyard. This place serves up some good 'cue. The hush puppies, mac n' cheese and pickles are good too. What's more, your meal can be chased with a beer or mixed drink. And the service is fast and friendly. Don't expect fine dinnerware. Meals are served on butcher paper with plastic forks. Leftovers can be self-wrapped at the condiment station. I have been searching for the best pork barbecue in town for quite some time. I believe this is the place. read more

This place is by far some of the best BBQ I have ever had. If I lived closer I would be here all the time! I got the brat melt special - which was out of this world. Such a good quantity of meat and cheese and everything was seasoned perfectly. Great mix of classics and new BBQ specials. Really cool spot inside too, they have live music some nights and would love to come out and see it. Honestly can't recommend this place enough, definitely worth a visit. read more

My husband and I decided to try different restaurants for our anniversary. This place was a gift to us. The brisket that was authentic smoked right in the back of this restaurant. The sweet tea chicken was also good. I should not have ordered the bun. It was that tasty. Our waitress was friendly and us old things to peruse the menu. The fries were crispy, flavorful just excellent, right out of the flyer. Of course, the hush puppies and beans were great. Actually, the baked beans were excellent. We are planning to go to this "out of the way place" ( worth the trip) because of their great BBQ and taking friends to enjoy it. PS. Even the bathrooms were interesting and super clean! read more

Tonight was my first order from Hog-it-up. I got 1/3 lb of beef brisket, potato salad and baked beans. The brisket was delicious! I'll definitely get that again. The potato salad; the potato were hard, under cooked and pricey! The baked beans were mush, almost like refried beans, also WAY too pricey. Well to start off it is actually a bit expensive as another review stated but what isn't these days? I've got to honestly say that the food that is served at this new restaurant is absolutely delicious. The meat is a little difficult for some people to Enjoy I guess because of it being wrapped in paper however I did not find issues with it. It's a place where you go to the counter and order what you want by the weight and everything is in disposable containers. A friend of mine ordered the brisket, I tasted it and it was absolutely delicious! Another person with us had the pulled pork which we were told by her was the best she had eaten anywhere in this area. I had the barbecue chicken quarter. It was perfect. The man serving separated the leg and thigh By cutting it with a knife prior to giving it to me. They have a small bar where you can use a number of difference barbecue sauces and one in particular was one of the best BBQ sauces I think I have ever had. They also have ribs and smoked sausages along with Texas chili. In addition I saw a number of different desserts including cheesecake and homemade banana pudding among others I believe. They have all kinds of side dishes and they have a full bar and sell cold beer along with a soft drink dispenser.It is a place to go in and sit down or you can take it with you. They have a bar, High tables, and regular tables. I had corn pudding as one of my sides absolutely wonderful to eat. I also had the baked beans. One reviewer said the beans were too smoky but that is not the case I've got no idea why he reviewed them that way because they are very good. They also have mac & cheese, green beans, potato salad, tropical coleslaw which I also tasted which was absolutely delicious because it has a bit of coconut through it. The food was ok. The pulled pork wasn't good. Had to separate the uneatable pulled pork to make a sandwich. Didn't have homemade barbecue sauce ( Sweet Baby Rays)maybe the bourbon barbecue was homemade. The wings were good. The sweet potato fries one order cook correctly and the other over cooked. The server said here is part of your order and forgot to bring the rest of the food out. That maybe because the server was drinking a beer while working. The servers were friendly but not competent!!!! The Mac and cheese was salty!!! And so was the pulled pork. Well I wish I could say that was it but it wasn't!! By the cash register there was a sign you should read!!! I call it the rip you off sign!! The restaurant charges Credit Card service fee, state tax OK, City Tax OK, and the Fair Labor & Wage Service Fee!! Wow and I mean Wow!! Total of 14.18 in taxes and fees!! This is a dishonest restaurant!!! I learned my lesson!! Read the sign!! No worries!! I will never return and I will not recommend this restaurant!! I have had way better barbecue other places!! Traveling south, we stopped at Hog-It-Up for the first time on our way back home to NC (we love our barbecue!) and so enjoyed our dinner there. Husband and I both ordered the pulled pork platter with two sides and it was delicious- Moist pulled pork, and so flavorful, with as many tasty sauces to pick from as you like. On recommendation from one of the fellows working behind the counter, we both tried the brisket baked beans which were some of the best baked beans I've had, complete with fresh chunks of brisket mixed in for added flavor- my fave. The corn pudding was also tasty. The restaurant itself has lots of personality, decorated with a very home-y and comfortable laid back southern vibe that is very welcoming. The guys working that night were so personable and friendly, and you could tell they just enjoy creating a great food experience for their guests. We'll definitely be back when we're passing through and try another delicious meal! read more

Expensive and not good at all. If I could, I would give less then 1 star. Pork and brisket, too spicy. When I want a sandwich on sliced bread I stay home and make a sandwich on sliced bread. Sides are not good. (Coconut in cole slaw? Not good.) I can't find one saving grace for this place, that's just my family's opinions. A brick-and-mortar restaurant needs to meet customers' requests, buns not bread or at least offer a choice, sides need to be revamped (watery mac and cheese, cole slaw too sweet, etc) and calm down with the hot spices. Loved the bbq place that used to be here, so gave this one a shot today. Wife and I got brisket and pulled pork plus two sides: Mac and cheese and baked beans. I'm still getting used to inflation and it was pricier than I expected, however, the portions were such that we brought half of our food home so we get another meal from it. I've had BBQ all over the U.S. Hog-It-Up is the real deal for Texas BBQ. It's pricey but the quality is worth every penny! Been there several times and always been great. Service is excellent. A little expensive, but most don't mind paying a little extra for what's good, we don't. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches with sides of potato salad, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans, all ordered to go (we wanted to try some of their many sides). The BBQed pulled pork taste was perfect, but the presentation sucked! Cole slaw was extra sweet, potato salad veggie chunks were big but tasted good, mac and cheese was salty but passable, the beans were too smoky and had no pulled pork in them, (not good at all). It was the presentation that got them the two star rating, the pulled pork, (not sandwich), the pulled pork is scooped up without sauce and deposited onto a piece of thin paper, rolled up and placed in another sheet of paper, then rolled up, and put into a paper bag, SERIOUSLY, with thick slices of plain bread provided, No sauces, No bun, NO sandwich. (BBQ sauces are offered on the side in squeeze bottles.) (You have to put BBQ sauce on pork and pork on bread slices and make your own sandwiches.) By the time we got home (5 minutes) our pork BBQ had bled through their paper wrappers, and the bag. What a mess. Thank goodness, we lived close to the restaurant and had rolls and store bought sauce at home with which to make our sandwiches as thick bread for BBQ sandwiches, was not to our liking, BUT AGAIN, they do have the very best PULLED PORK we've ever eaten! read more
