Visiting the cape again so had to pay a visit. Before 6:00 am I had to wait outside. Once in I discovered why. The help that was supposed to arrive at 6:00 always comes in late. How's that for service. I am not sure if this place has changed hands but there are many better options for baked good than Hole in One. The donuts- both cake and yeast - were dry. They almost tasted like they were made the night before. The glaze was drying and cracking off. The lemon poppy muffin crumbled to almost dust when I cut it in half. ( not an exaggeration) Very expensive for mediocre donuts. Dunkin' Donuts taste fresher though I am not a fan. My wife picked up croissants elsewhere on two occasions that were excellent. So we will skip donuts in the future. Just not worth the wait and the dollars. read more

During the summer, there is literally a line out the door for the donuts. That might turn some people away, but trust me, the line moves quickly and the donuts are totally worth the wait. These donuts are so incredible I thought I'd pass out. I'm not exaggerating. So many flavors, all of them delicious! My personal favorite is the lemon-filled powered. Wow. Never have I experienced such a donut. Usually I could take or leave donuts, but if they're from Hole In One, I'M TAKING THEM! A dozen donuts for nine dollars, a half dozen for I believe six or seven dollars. Amazing price! Plus a friendly staff that are attentive and greet you with a smile, even amidst the chaos. The service is very fast in addition to being hospitable. I have not tried the sit-down breakfast or lunch, so I cannot comment on that. My boyfriend and I stopped here around 8 am for some breakfast before the beach. To begin with, this place has a HUGE breakfast selection, from donuts, muffins, to breakfast sandwiches, specialty coffees, teas, and lets not forget the free samples!! Needless to sAy this place is amazing and the staff is so friendly and polite . I ordered a blueberry muffin and when the gentleman handed it to me he said "fresh out of the oven" I didn't think too much of it until I got back to my cottage (10 mins later) sliced it in half and it was nearly steaming! We rented a house in Eastham for MDW and this was the closest Hole in One. I had previously gone to the Orleans location, so I wasn't sure what to expect. When we got there (around 11 on a Saturday), the line was literally out the door (still not as bad at the other location). However, it moved pretty fast since it's only a bakery and most people are getting their items to go. The space is a bit small. There's a counter and a small area by the window to sit if you want to enjoy your baked goods there. The staff was super friendly, helpful and quick. We each got several donuts. Having had the donuts before, I opted for sour cream which is a cake like donut. They also have fluffy donuts like chocolate dipped and honey dipped. Besides donuts, they sell muffins, bagels, croissants, cupcakes and I think I even saw a cannoli in there. I love cake donuts so these really hit the spot and they're HUGE! I would definitely come back but if I was looking for more of a sit down place, I would recommend the Orleans location. read more

If you are looking for the best donuts on the Cape this is the place to go. The sell out fast though so I recommend going early, especially in the summer. We called ahead yesterday and they set some aside for us, not sure if they do this during the busy season, though it never hurts to ask! The honey dipped donuts are light and fluffy and the chocolate covered and sweet but not overwhelmingly so. I've wanted to draft this review for some time. Waited on line with my kids only to get yelled at when it was our turn to order because we hesitated a bit in deciding what we wanted. Lots of eye rolling and sour looks. It's obvious to me that this place does not like outsiders. This is indicative of the Cape's general attitude toward tourists. They can't stand us, but put up with us for the seasonal revenue. The donuts are good, but I'd avoid it if it's busy. Know what you want before you get in line. read more

The selection is not that great. Don't go in expecting a large variety like you find at dunkin donuts. The donuts to me were a bit dry. They are slightly bigger than what you would get from dunkins. The building has 3 entrances, 2 in the front, one on the left side. One of the front entrances is for the attached restaurant. Its got a diner type feel to it. There were 3 people tending the donuts section when I went in. I'm not sure if they were related or not. An older woman, younger woman and a man. The older woman kept getting upset people were coming in thru one of the front doors. I'm not sure what she would expect. Normally people come in thru the door facing the front of the building. I walked in for a jelly donut a few days ago and found an old time treat: hand cut and cooked right like I used to make as a kid in the '50's! So I returned with my wife and accidentally discovered they had cannolis!! I asked the very lovely staff woman of the shells were crisp and fresh, and she laughed, saying I might be surprisingly pleased; her sister makes the filling and they may be the best I've encountered! Now, I spent a week in Manhattan on a Bicycle diligently researching the very best vanilla in NYC, finding it in a little family bakery near 39th and 9th. OMG! Ultimately I have to admit the service is better on the Cape, the server on the Cape more beautiful than I deserved, BUT..... Her cannoli at the Hole in One was the freshest, most perfect toasted almond and chocolate delight I have ever eaten! But I was not surprised other than how really delicious it was. Go there. These donuts are legit. They aren't overly sweet, so to me they are ideal for dunking in coffee. They have a nice thick donutty crust with lots of fried nooks and crannies -- they are very sturdy donuts. The cinnamon sugar was a highlight, as was the sour cream. The chocolate glazed could stand to be a bit more chocolate-y, and the honey dip and toasted nut were fine but nothing to write home about.
