It is a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating for breakfast and lunch. The are pictures of vintages Hollywood actors and comics. The food was good including an fruit bowl twice what is given with most breakfast plates. The service has someone always checking to see if you need anything. Hands down best brunch spot in SF! We spent the night at Fisherman's Wharf and searched on Yelp for breakfast brunch spot. Our party of five dropped by for brunch and were seated immediately. We stopped here for a Sunday breakfast after spending the night at the Kimpton hotel nearby. Luckily we were seated right away (although there was a bit of a line when we left - not surprisingly a popular spot!). My first visit here was December 27, 2025. I came for breakfast, mid morning. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I think there's probably parking available although you may have to walk a little from a parking lot to get here. But it will be a lovely walk in fisherman's wharf. There was a short wait, but the staff was very accommodating and I sat outside on a beautiful morning. I had eggs Benedict, done to perfection. The hollandaise sauce had just the right amount of acidity. The eggs were poached, soft. I wanted to capture that in the photo. Some may prefer their eggs little harder than this, but I loved these. There's nothing bad, but nothing great about this spot. Location is probably what keeps them busier since they're at fisherman's wharf. I got the breakfast wrap and the lettuce inside felt VERY out of place. The heat made it a little soggy instead of lettuce making the wrap crunchier. Good amount of avocado at least. The food and service here are great. It was a bit chilly the days we were in SF. This place leaves its doors open for diners to come and go with ease. Sitting near the door on chilly days is not recommended. However, it was the last table that was still inside and we opted to not wait for one deeper into the restaurant to vacate so we sat at the table right next to the doorway. It was a bit nippy. I believe they leave it open bc they have outdoor seating at well and it would feel awkward to shut the door to the patrons outside. The food was sooo good. Their attention to detail in how they plate their yummy food is wonderful. I appreciate the fruit that came with our meals. It was a refreshing finish to a hearty meal. I have a deep love for breakfast foods. Everything on my plate was perfect. Fluffy eggs. The sausage patties are probably the best I have ever had anywhere. Toast was great with their offerings of spreads. And their Hash was fried to a nice crisp. The microgreens on the Benedict made it so much more exquisite to look at. Our visit to San Francisco, we stayed about two blocks away from this restaurant. When arriving, we didn't know if we had to check in. Instead, you stand in line on the left side and they come out and ask 'how many in your party?'. On a Saturday around 9:30, we had to wait 15-20 minutes. Once inside, the area is clean, there is someone sweeping or cleaning tables to get their patrons in as quickly as possible. We had the regular breakfast which didn't take long to arrive. Presentation was still nice, but the food was no-frills which I appreciate. I tried the Florentine Benedict and a French Toast. I didn't have any complaints with either. The location is fantastic, especially if you're staying near Fisherman's Wharf, and it was kid friendly, which made dining out with our family easy and relaxed. The reason for the four stars instead of five was the service and billing experience. Service felt a bit mediocre, not terrible, just not especially attentive. More importantly, they automatically added a 20% gratuity for our table of four, and then when the receipt came, there was still a line to add an additional tip. My husband had a club: BLT loaded with roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, on whole wheat bread. French fries were excellent. French fries were super crunch. There were some strawberries in our meals and some of the best I've tasted. There is no gf menu or marked on menu but they were very nice and accommodating. When I ordered the waiter said, "Gluten free right - no toast" potatoes were fine. I had the Vivian Leigh plate which was a croissant with scrambled egg that had bacon and cheddar cheese in it. The croissant was fresh, soft and buttery, pairing well with the scrambled egg, bacon and cheese. It is served with a very generous side of fruit. The fruit was fresh, juicy and an assortment of pineapple, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, blackberries, red apple and oranges. This plate is definitely a shareable size as the portions are very generous. You get a lot of food, quality, for such a great price. The cafe is quaint with photos of old Hollywood; Marilyn Monroe, Vivian Leigh, Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin, etc. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. It was busy. Full house. Finished up a weekend trip to SF with a breakfast at Hollywood Cafe. Cafe was a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf. Got there early, and there was already a small line. Everyone was able to get a seat, and the cafe rapidly filled up with other patrons. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I got the crab omelet, and it was delicious. I have to be honest, though, and I never thought I would say this. It had too much crab...lol So, too much crab isn't really a bad thing. It was just a bit overpowering. I would definitely order it again, though, and just take some of the extra crab out and take that crab home for something else. Pleasant atmosphere and I look forward to visiting again.
