We came here and it was about a 30 minute wait so we just sat at the bar and ate which was great. The service was good and the vibe was super chill surprisingly based on the outside. You can join the waitlist online which is a very convenient feature. Everything here was pretty good. The ranchero flatbread was delicious. The pepperoni was good but smaller pepperonis would be nice, it'd be nice not to take a bite and pull all the toppings off. The Mac and cheese I must say left much to be desired, it was just bland. The raspberry vinaigrette was a little sweet for my taste it definitely gave more syrup than vinaigrette vibes but that's just my opinion.

Let's start with the housekeeping. The bathrooms are clean. The dining area is very clean. The staff is super friendly. We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon for lunch. We had a server who provided a lot of dining options and was very attentive. My colleague chose the chicken and biscuits. The comment was they were very good. I went with the servers recommendation of fish and chips. Let's start by saying they give you plenty of food. The fish was quite good. It was cod. It was fried but not overly so. You get a ton of french fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw and fries were very good. The fries were not at all greasy. They have their own house made tartar sauce, which I found different but very good. Strong recommendation for the sweet tea as well. There are lots of lunch choices to eat either inside or outside.

Wow we love this place! We sat at the bar with Melissa as the bartender. She was so friendly and made great recommendations. The restaurant was so clean, decorated nicely and a cozy ambiance that also felt high end. The food was amazing! And came out perfectly timed with appetizers. We met some locals who said they actually know Dolly. We felt right at home and will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place. Great prices too!

Wish I could give more stars!!! Food was AMAZING! We put ourselves on the waitlist before we left our cabin because it said 30-45 min wait so I also suggest doing that, once we got to the host stand and checked in we only waited 10 min! We aren't from the area so we asked our lovely server what they're known for & she told us steaks are great which was a what we were looking at. Were steak snobs so we were skeptical at first due to the wide variety of food on their menu. Needless to say we were HIGHLY impressed especially for the price! Wife got the Hawaiian ribeye medium rare with Mac n cheese! AMAZING flavor! I got the regular ribeye medium rare with Mac n cheese and a house salad with the poppy seed vinaigrette! When I tell you I want that dressing bottled for my house I'm not joking! It's so damn good! Our server Cassidy was personable, quick and knowledgeable. Her honesty about menu items was my favorite part. The atmosphere was perfectly lit, busy and not too loud!

Holston's has long been one of our favorites, and we've enjoyed many memorable meals. That's why this takeout experience stood out--in a less-than-great way. We ordered the fried mozzarella appetizer for $9.99, and while we understand prices can vary, the portion felt underwhelming with just four pieces. As you'll see in the photo, the presentation didn't quite match the value. A smaller container or a bit more attention to visual appeal might help the dish feel more inviting, especially for takeout. We're hoping this was just a rare misstep--still rooting for Holston's to keep up the quality we've come to love!

This review is a mixed bag of thoughts. Nice, quiet place with relaxed atmosphere. We had the brisket egg rolls, they are soft and mushy not crisp at all. For the table we had Caesar salads with lite dressing, it was Caesar soup, completely drowned. Did not eat. The potato soup is a cup of grainy mashed potatoes, the texture was off putting. The kids Alfredo was also so saucy it was soup. The redeeming plate was the short rib melt and grits, both were delish. The service wasn't impressive either. Our young fella was not interested in listening to our requests (i.e. lite dressing). Don't be in a rush to leave the table, pace yourself. Overall, I wouldn't come back.

    Spinach Artichoke Dip

The food and service was amazing!! For my appetizer I got the spinach dip and bang bang shrimp and for dinner I got the fettuccine Alfredo so good!! My server was Audrey. Audrey is kind caring and hardworking. Thank you Audrey

Not the best food both dishes we got was disappointing... fries were good. But the waitress took a while to come over. Nice set up .. they put more into the ambiance than the food.

Had to edit this because my mom and I both got food poisoning from this meal. She reported her symptoms to one of the hostesses who was rude to her. My stomach was queasy when I left, and we were both up all night sick. We both had chicken and dumplings and fried green tomatoes.

Our server--I believe his name was Joe--was incredibly attentive and accommodating. Food arrived VERY quickly. We had multiple people check on us throughout our dinner, all very polite. We ordered the fried chicken skins, buffalo frog legs, and bone marrow as appetizers. The chicken skins were HUGE and deliciously crunchy. The buffalo frog legs were very tender. The bone marrow paired very nicely with the bread it's served with. All were very tasty. For the main dishes, we got the 48 oz Tomahawk ribeye (topped with bone marrow butter and a side of fries), as well as the wood grilled lamb. We asked that the tomahawk be rare, specifying charred on the outside and still mooing on the inside, and they absolutely nailed it. The outside, especially the fat, was seared beautifully--it was absolutely delicious. The fries were very fresh and flavorful as well. We'd never had lamb before, so we asked our server to have them cook it the way he suggested. It was cooked phenomenally, and the flavors with the blackberry reduction were amazing. The goat cheese grits weren't overpowering, they were the best cheese grits I've had. The cornbread went very well with the steak. For dessert, we got the blackberry and blueberry cobbler, and the goat cheese cheesecake. They were both mouthwateringly delicious. I'm still thinking about that cobbler... Overall, there was not a single thing to complain about during our visit--besides it having to come to an end, lol. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and we'd never had a dining experience quite like this one. I absolutely recommend The Appalachian, it's well worth the money.

To make matters worse, this overpriced restaurant also adds a credit card processing fee. Unbelievable. Because of this, I've lowered my rating by one star and would strongly recommend saving your money and dining elsewhere.

I have to say, he was right. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable, thank you Tina. The manager checked in on us as well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. My husband had the filet and I had New Zealand almond encrusted rack of lamb. Both entrees were grilled to perfection. The rosemary red wine demi glaze on the filet and the mint Kentucky Bourbon sauce with raspberries was the perfect complement to each entree. We were greeted and seated promptly in a lovely little alcove near their patio, the perfect spot for old friends catching up. Our server, Olivia, was phenomenal, offering insight and recommendations into their seasonal menu items. We started with cocktails and appetizers. We loved the Roasted Beet Salad and Crab Bisque. Deee-licious! We then moved on to our entrees: Filet mignon (prepared Medium) w/caramelized onions & garlic mashed potatoes. The filets were seasoned and cooked perfectly - melt in your mouth, oh soooo good! Prime rib steak sandwich with caramelized onions & melt cheese. Opted for a side of grilled zucchini instead of fries. Also a big hit with our friend. I chose the night's feature dish of halibut and couscous. Nicely prepared and delicious. Though we didn't have room for dessert, once Olivia brought the dessert tray by, we quickly made room! My husband chose the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Of course I had to taste! I'm typically am not a fan of bread puddings due to being heavy and somewhat gummy! This one was absolutely light, and yummy allowing the blueberries to shine. Our friends shared the NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. Also, light, fluffy and delicious! I chose the key lime pie with toasted coconut sprinkled on top. Incredibly good with light tartness though I prefer more tart. Still, it ranks up there as one of the best I've found. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, food, ambiance, decor, and our server, Olivia. Ample portions, reasonable/comparable pricing, and delicious/creative menu. Bravo, Seasons 101! Bravo!! P.S. They also have a lovely outdoor dining area, if you so desire.
