They completed everything in eight working days. Donovan and Lee showed me what they were doing as work progressed. They kept in touch and updated the work progression, photos, and billing on a secure web site. The work they did is great! They're cool, friendly guys, too! Throughout the process, we felt pressured to proceed with the maximum financing available. We also did not receive a detailed cost breakdown from Ben and had to ask to speak to someone else. He told us many times "sorry, this is good as I can do, it's a bundle deal", which made us uncomfortable feeling like he was hiding prices from us. After obtaining additional estimates from other contractors, we were advised that several of the smaller handyman-type items included in the proposal appeared to be significantly overpriced. As a result, we requested that those items be removed from the scope of work. However, despite removing multiple services, the overall project cost remained essentially unchanged, which further raised concerns. We ultimately decided to limit the project to repairing our shower pan leak. At that point, Nathan informed that the company could no longer do business with us. Unfortunately, this left us feeling that the focus was more on maximizing the project value than on addressing our actual needs as customers. We value transparency, clear communication, and flexibility when making significant home improvement decisions, and our experience did not reflect those expectations.

My husband gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited a little longer before calling. There was no answer, so he left a message. Still nothing. I then tried reaching out through Instagram, thinking maybe there had been a misunderstanding or he had simply gotten busy, but again, no response. What is most disappointing is the lack of communication. If you're too busy to take on a project or decide it isn't a good fit, that's completely understandable--just communicate that. We were genuinely interested and ready to move forward. Being completely ignored after taking the time to meet with someone is frustrating and, unfortunately, left us with a very poor impression.

As the project manager, Mike Gast was extremely patient and accommodating, and provided lots of feedback to solve various issues. This was a large project that involved removing the garage door, retrofitting 3 sets of doors, framing and finishing for a custom look, inside and out. They even installed special thresholds so we could be assured of being able to roll equipment in and out of the space easily. After each stage of the job, the crew cleaned up the area and removed all debris. The price quoted us initially was in line with competitors, better than several, who failed to follow up with us. There was no cost-creep, and we finished at the price quoted us. Progress and payment was tracked on their online job project site, which was an added benefit and inspired confidence. I can highly recommend Mastercraft and hope to use them in the near future for several other home improvement projects. Called on Tuesday, 3/10/15 immediately after learning family was flying in from NY City on Saturday, 3/14!! Talk about short notice!! Carpets in our (too) big 5,500 sqft home needed serious (we have two German Shepherds!) help ASAP! Scott was great, coordinating one of his best teams to do both all our carpets and a nice chunk of our worst travertine tile the very next day. His scheduling assistant told me to look for the "Super Mario Brothers, Manny & Danny" between 12noon and 2pm the next day. Just before 2pm Manny called to let me know they were running a few minutes late, showing here at 2:20. They quickly went to work on an estimate using laser measuring tapes, presenting me with a very, very reasonable price, especially given the short notice response! They wasted no time after I accepted the estimate. I was impressed by their equipment and procedures, using tarps to protect the floors from the hoses and corner protectors to protect the corners of the walls. The brothers worked almost straight through until nearly 8pm, literally blowing us away with their hard work, professionalism, and positive demeanor. Only at my insistence did they stop for 15min to eat a burger, fries, and a Coke I picked up for them. The carpets have never been cleaner and we thought we would never see the tile, especially around the kitchen and the areas where the two dogs lounge/play around all day, as new as it looks right now. We were further impressed the next morning when we could see it all in the light of day. Simply put, an all-around superb job in all respects at a very reasonable price. WARNING: Avoid Home Perfect Restoration at All Costs! I was referred to Home Perfect Restoration by my insurance agent after discovering a water leak in my bathroom. I contacted the owner, Scott, who claimed he worked frequently with Stillwater Insurance and knew all the adjusters personally -- a complete lie, as it turns out. Scott submitted multiple inflated invoices to the insurance company, none of which were approved. I ended up hiring my own contractor, whose initial bid was immediately accepted by the insurer. My contractor also informed me that Home Perfect had unnecessarily demolished undamaged walls, creating additional repairs and cost. A month later, I began receiving harassing calls from someone named Dorrae in their office, demanding payment for work that was never approved. Despite never receiving consent from the insurance adjuster, they threatened me with legal action and even placing a lien on my property. Thankfully, a manager at my insurance company stepped in, acknowledged that I shouldn't be held liable, and assured me they would take care of it. Bottom line: Do NOT trust Home Perfect. Their dishonesty and aggressive tactics are exactly why dealing with insurance claims can be so difficult. Companies like this are the problem -- stay far away. read more

Earlier this week, I discovered a large water spot in the garage from a soaking mop that was accidentally left leaning against the wall by a family member. Definitely signs of water damage! As someone who has suffered from mold illness due to previous living quarters with a history of poorly executed remediation and mitigation, I wanted to make sure that the job was DONE RIGHT in my new house. I didn't have to search very long for a company with integrity who went above and beyond in their mitigation and remediation process. A good friend of mine (who has dealt with her fair share of water damage and mold illness) referred me to Home Perfect Restoration. Everything was executed professionally and swiftly! Alfred was our remediation/mitigation technician and did such a PHENOMENAL job staying in constant communication with us, patiently explaining the entire process from start to finish and expectations, accurately assessing the degree of the problem, and treating the contaminated area appropriately and with exceptional care (I had mentioned my history of mold illness). We had water damage in our home which required quite a bit of work. There was a lot of mitigation work followed by putting things back together again. So we had a few different groups of workers involved. We were very impressed with professionalism, quality and care from this company. Both from the management and workforce. I am not really sure how to start. They first and foremost made sure that they kept us informed of where they were in terms of the work progress, where they would be focusing on for the next day and generally as they proceeded. For me this customer focus was very important. Their work was performed while we were occupying our home. They kept disruption and clutter to minimum and cleaned up behind themselves as they progressed. These folks take pride in their work, are concerned about their customers and ensure a highly skilled and knowledgeable group of workers. We felt in our dealings with the project managers during the different stages were great. From start to finish we could not be more happy! My wife came home from the store to a kitchen that was raining from the ceiling! Our upstairs bathroom had been completely flooded from the sink and had seeped down the hallway and through the floor and into the kitchen down below. She quickly went to the Internet and got in contact with Scott, the owner of Home Perfect. He quickly sent his crew to our house during the late evening on a Saturday to begin the tedious process of cleaning up the mess. His technicians worked for nearly 4 hours to soak up the water and put many fans, dehumidifiers, and filters in our house to begin the drying process. Scott personally came to our house daily to check the drying status of our home. 4 days later, the house was completely dry with no carpet, wall, ceiling, or baseboard damage! Scott worked with us directly and gave us a FANTASTIC price for all of the work his company had done for us. Over a year ago, I had my kitchen and the entire downstairs flooring replaced after a flood. I was displaced from my house for a while and forgot about writing a review. Let me start by saying that everyone at Home Perfect Restoration is skilled in their trades. They are each skilled craftsmen that take real pride in their work. They were friendly and personable and helped us restore the house to our requests. I cannot say enough good things about them. What prompted me to write the review a year later, you ask? I had a minor issue that developed with the already existing countertop. In an email, I asked them for advice to point me in the right direction for a repair. I emailed them on Monday. Within 15 minutes, Dorrae had Robb reach out to me. Mike, the project manager (the best project manager I have ever worked with in my life), came out to review the issue. Mike was our project manager during the entire project as well. On Wednesday, everything was expertly repaired at no cost. They are indeed a rare gem out there. A 4.9-star review on Google is no lie. I was referred to Scott for consultation after experiencing problems with my Insurance company, Safeco. I explained my situation and Scott assured me that my claim should be covered providing me with a strategy and utilization of terms to use with the insurance agent. Over the course of four months I dealt with four different agents and a supervisor all denying my claim. Scott suggested I file a complaint with the California Department of Insurance. I did so and after a month I received the same denial letter from Safeco I had received before. I felt I was banging my head against a brick wall. I was ready to give up, but Scott urged me to contact the CDI agent with one last "Hail Mary." The CDI agent actually listened retrieved a document I had initially submitted. She contacted Safeco with this documentation and my claim was covered. Thanks to Scott for not letting me give up. He knows how insurance companies work to do everything to deny coverage. read more

Alfred, my first contact with HPR, responded immediately to my first call. He was most professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful to this senior homeowner experiencing a first time water damage with mold event. I never do reviews online. I'm a "pick up the phone and call" person, which I did. But I felt the need to knock out a review. While my family isn't super dirty we're also not super clean. First off the kitchen tile floor grout was black. It's not supposed to be black. We clean the floors regularly but over the years grout just gets gross. We called Home Perfect and they got a crew out right away. Heath and Alex - did an amazing job! Heath was very upfront with what he could and couldn't do for us. From the first contact with the friendly lady who helped me on the phone to the guys in the field (George and company) who basically performed magic on our floor tile and grout, we couldn't be more pleased. After discovering my toilet leaking from upstairs through my ceiling downstairs we called Scott. He quickly came out himself assessed the situation and started dry out. We discovered the leak was much worse and the ceiling and subfloor needed to be removed, mold had grown under the toilet and rotted the subfloor. A Pipe burst behind our shower wall and our bedroom carpet and drywall was soaked. Home Perfect came out within hours of us calling and went straight to work securing everything so no mold got into our home. They covered everything in plastic and got huge dryers in there to dry all the drywall out and to make sure everything was completely dried out. Scott Peterson at Home Perfect cleaned our carpet last week. After they left I did feel like I was in a "Home Perfect". They left our house with the carpets looking like new, the price was fair and honest, they gave us tips on upkeep of our carpets and the next day we got an email asking us if we were satisfied. Discovering that we had a slab leak was deeply concerning. The process could have been horrible, but the people at Home Perfect Restoration were wonderful to us. Casey Nimmo led the effort to dry out and save our hardwood floors. They removed damaged walls and cabinets so carefully that none needed to be replaced. We have used them on numerous occasions. This last time was for our new residence we finally ended up buying . Unfortunately sellers didn't do right & we used them again . They got these nasty carpets looking great. That was an amazing feet. They also cleaned our rental to difficult landlord's satisfaction. I gave Matt a call and he reassured me that he would…read moregive me an honest opinion on whether we needed our kitchen cabinets removed due to potential water damage. Initially, a remediation company had come out and told me I'd have to rip out the cabinets due to water damage. I wanted a second opinion, so that is why I reached out to Matt. It was a pleasure speaking with him, for he is very knowledgeable of water damage. Matt really calmed my nerves. Our appt time was 9AM, and about a couple minutes after, I see his car pull up. I love when people show up on time. I've had bad experiences in the past where I sit, look out the window, and just wait for someone to show up at the scheduled time. Matt showing up on time really impressed me. He looked at the areas where they may be damage, and didn't find any moisture detected. He couldn't guarantee that there wasn't some water damage to where a drain leak was, but reassured me that at least inside the cabinets, and on the drywall, there was no damage. He was patient in answering my many questions, and made me feel more at ease about the situation. He asked that I send pictures of what's behind the stucco, once the plumber cut into it to fix the pipe, and that he would then give me a recommendation on how to proceed from there. I joked and told him hopefully I won't need to use his services, but if the worst case scenario became a reality and I did need the cabinets removed and drywall replaced, I know Matt would be the first and only person I call.
