It was still very much winter,…read morewith temps in the 20s, and I was reliving the torture of being without heat for 2 straight days during the December '22 blizzard. All the 5 star reviews led me to Armor. Our saviors! Response time was promised within 2 hours, and they showed up even sooner. We were offered the option of replacing the offending part or installing a whole new furnace. I didn't see the point of putting a brand new part into a 20+ year old unit, then waiting for the next failure. So, new furnace it is. A few hours later, our house was warm and toasty again! Same day service from a thoroughly polite and professional crew? Yes, please! I can't praise this company highly enough. Our AC is getting older too, and I wouldn't dream of calling anyone other than Armor when the time comes.

They had to replace a few parts and part of doing so meant they had to go around to every baseboard and let air out. It was a big job that took a couple hours but they were friendly and respected our home by taking off shoes, etc. we felt the price was spot on. We'd definitely call these guys again.

Sal is the owner. He was here in person, hands on and overseeing everything to be sure it was done properly. He earned my respect for his expertise, accurate work, problem solving, communicating, keeping appointments, and dependable follow up. Sal was quick to respond to my initial request for an estimate. Then he did exactly what he said he would do for the reasonable price we agreed upon ahead of time. He was fast and organized. Over the course of the job, Sal kept me informed when any unexpected issues came up. He laid out the problem and options so I could decide how I wanted to proceed. He listened carefully to all my concerns. He ethically stuck to his original estimate. Overall, his energy and enthusiasm made it a truly pleasant experience. I was so impressed with their first days' work that I immediately hired SS to do additional electrical improvements. When you finally find someone that good it's worth bundling any work you need done and get it all completed while you have someone who will do it right and on budget! We are very satisfied with everything SS Electrical Services has done for us this summer.

The duct work is pretty clean looking and streamlined. With my house being a new build, I suppose you'd expect that the temperature would be comfortable with little wasted energy, but in many respects this is a testament to the quality furnace and duct work Vastola did install. Moreover, the humidifier does a bang up job as well. I'm was a little disappointed about a service call I had to make after we moved in. Our dryer is vented from the laundry room on the second floor to the side of the house, not the roof. Therefore, Vastola ran the vent across the joists of the attic floor. When I finally had a chance to get into the attic to store some things, I noticed the overwhelming smell of dryer exhaust. I checked out the vent and noticed it had come unattached from the outside wall. We called Vastola about the issue, and they came out to fix it, however, they were really defensive when they did so, almost as if they were accusing us of deliberately sabotaging our own dryer vent, which of course is ridiculous. I love dryer vents and would never do anything to harm one of them.

They quoted me $7000+ for a new A/C. When I asked for a quote to just replace they fan motor, they said they would get back to me. It seemed crazy to replace the whole A/C when there was nothing wrong with the coolant line or compression. Didn't hear anything so reached out a week later. They said they couldn't get the part. That my A/C mount was different and requited a special size. Bullshit. I went to S-S Electrical (on Seneca St), bought an A/C fan motor with the same specs as my old one, and changed it out myself for $200. Problem solved.
