Cool concept, but very inefficient and over priced. Cocktail selection - awesome. Food taste - awesome. Waiter/Waitress services could use improvements. It's a large venue and there were times we could not find out waitress. It would be helpful if there were some type of "waiter call" button on the screen. They do not honor their published prices and change pricing depending on how busy it is!!! We recently booked a birthday party here. When I first spoke with Andrea, the events coordinator, I had never been to the venue before. I am really big on birthday parties and have held parties at a lot of the popular party venues. Homerun Dug Out is by far the most expensive. It is significantly more expensive to book a party than it is to just reserve the bay. I wasn't sure if I wanted to add the private wiffle field rental for an hour which would have been an additional $400 with the bay rentals ($500 without). It's a small party for 10-12 kids. Andrea told me I could add it after I booked the party and that it would be easy to add later for $400. I reserved two bays and added food package for little sluggers which was $1,559. I prepaid 50% deposit when I booked the party. Right after I booked the party, I drove 40 minutes to Homerun Dug Out and walked around their venue, and decided I wanted to add the private wiffle ball field to my party. I contacted Andrea back to add the wiffle ball field rental and she informed me the owners decided to increase price from $400 to $1000/hour. They previously told me I could add that to my party booking for $400/hr. The $400 is their published rate for private wiffle field rental for one hour with bay rental, and now a few days later, they won't honor what they promised and want $1,000/hour for it!! read more

Ok,where do I start with Home Run Dugout venue in Katy.I'll put it to you this way...I will never go back there for a concert of any sorts.Paid for VIP table/service and got none of that.We were lucky to find a table on our own because you find out when you get there that it's first come first serve which was never mentioned when you pay for the VIP table on the website.The mapping on the website of where the VIP seating was supposed to be showed a small area of VIP seating.We arrived and basically half the grounds are VIP which was triple the amount of "VIP seating".This made for slow service which is mentioned on their website that we would have our own personal service and no long lines for food and drinks.That was a lie!The food we ordered was good(tacos/quesadillas).Good to see La Mafia and support the local band but the venue made a stealing with the VIP tickets on that one.Moral of the story:If you go for a concert,don't pay extra for VIP service.You won't get any perks with that. read more

Love this place! I've gone twice and enjoyed it each time. Great staff, cool drinks, fun concerts, and the virtual baseball is something worth trying (although I'm absolutely terrible at it!). Home Run Dugout is dog friendly too, so you can bring your furry best friend to the bar. read more

We visited during a baseball tournament in Houston. The idea for the venue is amazing. Our kids and families enjoyed a lot. Service could be better. Our server Taylor was amazing and she was doing everything in her power to get everything right, but unfortunately she was working by herself to serve a party of 20 people. The kitchen ran out of food and they had to close early. Some items never were delivered. If they keep up it will be a great place to hang out. read more

We had blast playing the games! Food was great and the waitress was super friendly. We tried the lemon pepper wings, mini corn dogs, truffle patty melt, and pretzel sticks. All classic foods and delicious. There's a big beer list, some wine and cocktails. Their mock tails are pretty good too! When there's not an event on the field, it's a great space for kids to explore and stretch their legs. I like that the soft balls were soft. I felt safe and didn't worry about hurting people around me. Not that I had anything to worry about because I was totally *ahem* knocking all the balls out of the park. It was a decent experience. The screen kept freezing on us for the first 35 mins while we were there. Keep in mind it's 65$ for every 30 minutes of play, I had no idea the price range it was since they have no prices up anywhere except for the food/bar menu prices. read more

I came here for lunch on opening day with a couple coworkers, to my surprise it wasn't too busy. We sat at the bar and had wonderful service. I ordered the margarita that is on tap for my drink which was pretty good, I ended up getting 3. Oh and it's served with sonic style ice which always makes a drink better. For my meal I ordered the chicken slider appetizer and a side of fries. The chicken on the sliders were so good and juicy. The fries were really good too and came with a side of dinger sauce(which is a tajin ranch) as well as bbq sauce. The dinger sauce was so good! My friends ordered the nachos appetizer and I stole a couple bites from that and it was really good, the nachos were HUGE. My other friend ordered the Chicago dog which looked really good and came with a side of fries. The price point for the food was fair but the margarita was a small margarita for $12. I would have expected it to be a little bigger but that didn't stop me from ordering more. We did not use the batting bays since we came in for lunch but I'm excited to go back and use the batting bay. read more

I worked here for 2 years before I was treated so wrong and wrongfully terminated. They told me I left my shift early when in reality my relief came in early for an event at bays 15 and 16 which is why I was able to leave early. They claimed they were looking for me but never decided to call me . They've claimed I've done this before but could not find other examples of me doing this. I really believed this is all because I accused them of discrimination months ago. This place treats their employees like crap they will build a whole building for guest before even building an area for their employees to eat when it's raining. They care only about the guest and not their employees. They show favoritism and it's clear as day and will fire people for stuff they make up when there are people who actually need to be fired like some of the managers. They claimed they wanted to fire me that day but waited a whole week and why is that? They have managers who will straight up tell you to shutup because they are having a bad day but tell us to leave our problems at home. I will definitely be reaching out to a Lawyer. This is not a place you want to be. read more

BEWARE when you get your bill. They calculate your tip on the cost of the battling cage We reserved a batting cage for 90min which was $201 and had three drinks for $30. When they handed me the payment machine, I selected "20%" as my tip, thinking it would be 20% of $30 for drinks. The waitress said thanks and walked away. In then asked her for a copy of the receipt, which showed a tip of $46! I spoke with the manager who fixed the bill and said that's just the way their payment system is set up and they couldn't change it. He said I could have selected "custom tip" and paid the $6 tip that way, but the waitress never mentioned that the auto 20% would apply to the cost of the batting cage. This lack of disclosure has me believe they are knowingly ripping their customers off. Many people wouldn't think to look at their receipt, trusting the establishment is not over charging you, but they are. This is against the law and the TX Attorney General should take notice. read more

We had a great experience until the end. We played for an hour and our food took just as long to come out. We got our food and before I could take my first bite, we were told we couldn't stay in the air conditioning to eat. We had to eat outside. On another note we were asked to close out the whole tab before all the food was served. Overall the food was good, but the customer service is seriously lacking. Maybe its just their policy. Pros: 1.The theme is phenomenal. The details such as the numbered tile wall, the bar seating, and the outdoor area was well thought out and added the touch that it needed. 2. The margarita I had was delicious! 3. The game is really fun. Cons: 1. Their advertisement of taking reservations or walk-in's, really needs to be changed to "reservations only". We arrived on a Thursday midafternoon around 2pm and we had the option of having a 30 minute bay or waiting until 5pm for a one hour bay. We took the soonest one. 2. The food was underwhelming. We ordered several items from the menu and they were just "ok". 3. We got seated to eat while we were waiting for our bay. I assumed we got seated near the bay we would be at...nope. Our bay was in the area across the way. So when our bay was ready, we closed our tab and had to move everything over. Which really isn't convenient when you have kids. 4. Service was just ok. The waitress we had seemed flustered. She not only had to wait tables but then she also had to step away and set up the customers on their bays. 5. When you arrive to your bay, they give you the quick run-down and then you have set up your profile and sign waivers so that cut in to our "30 minute reservation". 6. They close down for events so you have to triple check before you go. We were originally going to go the day before but luckily I saw they weren't going to be open until later due to an event. 7. I know their fairly new but when I had to go through several menu and drink items because they "were out" or "didn't have them", it leave you to wonder why they're running out of stuff so quickly. I truly think this place has potential but there's several things that need to change to offer a better experience for patrons. Will I go back? Maybe but not anytime soon. read more

Came in with a large group that did include kids. The girls at the bar were so sweet while we waited for our section to be ready. Which should have been ready as we called days in advance. However, our waitress in our section were not attentive at all. They were also extremely rude to our kids and group when ordering. At the end of the night they told us we had to leave the area we reserved because another party was coming. When we asked to be moved to another area they told us we had to do it ourselves and brought us to go boxes instead of helping us. When we were met with a glitch in the system, the white manager was extremely rude. He told my party that the mistake was on our end and there is nothing he can do and he "doesn't know what to tell us". When we later went to shorten our time to a half an hour a different employee informed us that the mistake was actually on their end. In return they gave us a free half hour of play but still never got a proper apology from the manager. I planned a banquet for 150 people for our high school baseball team. I just knew it wouldn't rain on us & things would be great! Well, I got sick, couldn't even go, & then the rain started pouring! I got a call that everyone at HR dugout went out of their way to take care of us!! They moved things around last minute, they were polite, & the food was delicious! I absolutely support this location! Ralph was the manger on duty when we can in to check out the new place and he gave us 20 FREE swings for stopping by during their first month open! The girls up front; Zarria, Amber, Joanna, Autumn and Bri made us feel every welcomed and kept the "traffic flow" going. We did have an hour wait for a bay BUT during that wait the bartender Taylor was super attentive and helpful! Taylor recommended drinks and food selections which we took and HIGHLY recommended!! With being from Chicago I was spectacle of their "Windy city dog" but it was absolutely delicious!
