At the AYCE menu for lunch with husband, and was satisfied. Wasn't busy during the time we dined there, so service was attentive. Meat quality was what I was hoping! Worth the price with the meat quality. Favorites were pork jowl, galbi, and beef tongue. Wished there were more side dishes... but overall a great experience.

Decide to make a drive to get kBBQ for lunch. The seafood pancake was mushy and quite expensive $22. We tried to make the texture better on the grill and it didn't work. Nice attempt from our waitress. Out of all the meats, only the Galbi was good. Rice and lettuce is an extra charge Meat size is 8oz. Combos are about 6oz. Jenny was our waitress and she was awesome Food was fast They don't seat you until the full party arrives The Banchans were sitting on the table for an unclear duration. It's also limited.

Highly recommend! Meat quality was great. We had the beef Galbi and marinated pork. They have pickled jalapeños instead of cucumbers. I wish they had more options on marinated meats. A lot of the meats are just plain meat. They also don't have very many sauces. Interiors is very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Biggest negative.... I hate... so bad metal chopsticks!! They had no option of wooden ones.

Not sure if we came on an off day, but this was honestly a disappointing KBBQ experience especially having seen quite a few positive reviews. We were seated within a few minutes after arriving. The banchan was already laid out - a good spread albeit some were pretty small portions. Our waiter was quick to take our order and got right to cooking the meat for us, something we appreciated given most places have you cook yourself. Our waiter did ask if we wanted to, so you could ask to cook for yourself. They are not an AYCE spot, so we ordered their beef combo (getting galbi was our number one priority) and an order of the pork belly. They cooked the meats in what I assume is an intentional sequence of beef brisket, pork belly, galbi, and finally beef bulgogi. The two of us were quite full by the end so you easily could just order the combo for 2 people which is how many the menu says it serves anyway. A few unfortunate notes: Clearly, our waiter was flustered with how busy she was at the start, something about some waitstaff only just clocking in (surprising for peak dinner time on a Friday). We did notice that there were a lot more staff half an hour into our meal and were VERY attentive, taking turns cooking the meat. The service was very friendly overall, but the beginning of our meal was quite bumpy - we had to ask for water, having seen that the adjacent table that sat down after us already received theirs. We also had to ask for rice and our waiter said it would be another 10 minutes since they needed to make some. By the time we received our rice, we had already eaten 2 of 4 of our meats. As a rice lover, this was quite disappointing. Something seemingly small but was very noticeable was that their metal chairs were extremely uncomfortable to sit in, and typically you want to sit for an extended amount of time for KBBQ. Lastly, the meats were mostly okay which was disappointing because their galbi was my favorite ever - it was juicy and fatty and perfectly cooked, and so flavorful that no sauce was needed. The beef brisket was alright, the pork belly mediocre, and the bulgogi was a bit too crunchy from the charring without much flavor. The sauces helped but had to carry a lot of weight flavor-wise. All in all, $150 (not including tip, and my husband got a beer) was a bit pricey for this sub-par experience.

1 Star - Disrespectful & Misleading Experience We had a very disappointing experience at 8 Ounce KBBQ. The server recommended the A5 wagyu but never mentioned the price or that it was market price. We trusted the recommendation, and our bill ended up being $350, with $250 for the wagyu alone. We couldn't even eat half the wagyu because it was too much fat. We were genuinely confused and asked for clarification. Instead of handling it professionally, the staff became dismissive and defensive, saying that's "not what the waitress said happened." The manager (who claimed he was the owner) was rude and offered no attempt to resolve the situation. As we were leaving, he shooed us away and said "whatever, whatever, losers" in front of other guests. It wasn't about the cost -- it was about the lack of transparency and the way we were treated. Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

You definitely have to try this place out. The beef bulgogi was my favorite it was so flavorful! I was not a fan of the pork belly tbh but my husband enjoyed it. We came when it was packed and waited awhile to be seated. But, once we got sat, our food came out pretty quickly and the servers were fantastic given how busy they were! They did a great job. I will also say, the chopsticks are TRASH. They were flat and extremely hard to pick up food. But, we'll definitely be back to try the lunch menus!

We went on a Thursday night and got seated immediately. They have a pretty extensive menu to choose from; from a la carte to their combo selection. Their side dishes were plentiful and delicious as well. I rarely ever see scallops on the menu at K-bbq places so you best bet, we had to order that and I'm so glad we did! The galbi recommended by our server was also tasty. Probably the best I've had in a long while. Speaking of service, Evan and the trainee was excellent! Overall, although pricing is on the higher end...you get what you pay for. I'd say it's worth it.

Grapefruit Soju and what's left of some amazing Galbi! The kimchi is amazing too!

8 Ounce is my favorite place to go. Such a friendly and professional staff. The food is amazing and they have a great selection of soju. The best Galbi I've ever had.

Its always great here at 8 Ounce. The service is top notch and meat is top quality. One of my top choices in KBQQ. Can't wait for their dessert!

What a great dining experience! This was my first time here. I was heading into heavy rush-hour…read moretraffic, so I decided to avoid it and stop to have a good meal before heading home. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!

While we completely understand wanting to protect expensive furniture, the tone and delivery came across as rude and made our entire table feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On the other hand, I want to recognize our waiter, who was excellent throughout the meal. Raymond was attentive, friendly, and did his best to make us feel comfortable again after the interaction with the manager. His professionalism and kindness were the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. Unfortunately, the manager's approach, combined with the disappointing food, overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

Genuinely a great option. Service above par. Food was delicious…read more The bread was so soft and paired with a chimichurri and a pecan butter. The chimichurri had a kick to it from time to time, but I still ate it because it was really good with the slight sourness I like! The guacamole chicharron was so crispy and flavorful! I would come back just for that. We also ordered from the restaurant week menu. I got the Flora di Zucca which is zucchini blossoms. I genuinely thought it would be pieces of zucchini cut into shapes of flowers, but it was the actual flower! It was yummy! When I seemed confused, they let me try their regular zucchini too! I got the soup of the day which was a creamy mushroom soup and upgraded the sirloin to the filet. Both were worth getting. The filet was a little more cooked than I liked, but still pink in the middle, seasoned well, and tender. Their mashed potatoes honestly might be the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a sauce to go with the meal that they couldn't exactly describe. I can't exactly describe either. It was good though. I feel like it was similar to stroganoff gravy, savory and sour and a hint of something else. I upgraded one of the sides to the strawberry mozzarella salad, but I did not care for the vinaigrette that came with it. The pistachio cake was not what I was expecting. It was ok, but didn't really taste like pistachio aside from the pistachio crumble on top and was slightly dry. For just the chicharron and the mashed potatoes, I'd come here again. But pretty much everything we ate was solid and worth trying.

They serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday until 330. The brunch menu is huge. It is not a super large menu, which I feel very endearing. We decided to try the bagel and lox with cream cheese, the Buzz burger with fries, and their homemade chips. They start off by bringing you this beautiful craft of bottled water. That to me was an amazing bonus. We also ordered two sodas which came in a can. I sort of wish it was a more of a fountain drink than one can of soda for the price. *Now service was super slow. However, the waitress did come and tell us that they are running a little behind and she apologized for it and she was super sweet, so that made up for the weight. How do I known how long it was going to take, I don't know if I would've stayed, but in the end, the food was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend is a hamburger snob and he kept saying how good it was how fresh it was and how perfectly cooked it was. They serve you shoestring fries that feel like they're double fried and they were phenomenal. My bagel was toasted perfectly and had a very good amount of cream cheese and lox. As a Jewish girl living in the area that I do, it's very hard to find good bagels with lox and cream cheese. I will most definitely be back for this sooner than later. The homemade chips took quite a while to come out, and at one point I was ready to say we don't need it, but these potato chips beat Buccees beaver chips, 100%. They were super fresh and very crunchy and tasted amazing. I will definitely recommend those to anybody that orders some. My boyfriend then ordered a tropical sunrise smoothie and it was so tasty and tasted like a strawberry banana smoothie. Now once again that did take a long time to come out and at one point, we were wishing we had not ordered it but once we did get it, it was really good and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is not very large and it's the perfect brunch spot for anybody looking for a smaller Cafe with very good choices.

Tables are well spaced plenty of room eight crisp environment really just a very comfortable ambience. The services superlative from the moment you walk in in which you are immediately accommodated to the server who takes an order and then the servers who serve the food which is not necessarily one in the same. It's simply a very efficient service system and very pleasant if you're a customer. You get warm food. In my case I had hollandaise with Salman underlying it, which was very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly the hollandaise not by any means obnoxious but a very deliberate Irving and a wonderful salad, which both underlines the egg and is served as a side with the eggs, which were perfectly poached. In so far as the buzz is concerned, there are wines and beer available and really quite an extensive menu in both. I enjoyed a beer with mine, which I know it sounds like an odd combination, but it worked quite well for me. Really this is a wonderful addition to Katy options for breakfast or brunch.

Our waitress was super sweet but you could tell they were either understaffed or not used to being that full. It took super long time for all of our food to come out. Appetizers came over 40 minutes after ordering and the mains came over an hour and 15 mins or so after we arrived, and that was with the mains being ordered halfway through the apps. The first bite of the oyster was ok. It didn't taste like it was just made but maybe pre-prepped perhaps. We were supposed to receive bread soon after the first bite but we didn't. It was difficult to flag someone down because the waitstaff was moving fast and bringing out food for all the tables. We received our appetizers and then I had to let them know that we didn't get bread. So our bread and appetizers were eaten together. Now onto the food. We ordered the shrimp, jollof ball, calamari, and tacos. The calamari was straight up not good. We didn't finish it and no one in our party thought it tasted fresh. It had a very odd texture. It wasn't chewy or have a bite like normal calamari does but it was like a sponge. We all took one piece. Our party is all about not wasting food but the fact that the appetizer was not finished was very telling. The shrimp had good flavor but wasn't spectacular. The tacos were good. The jollof ball was spicy and nice. Between the appetizer and the entree there was over 35 minute gap. For this reason, we asked if we could have more bread, but they said they charged for extra bread. Tbh, I don't mind if places charge little for bread service, but if it takes over 35 minutes for the entree to come out, I'd expect the restaurant to give another piece of bread per person for no fee. That's just good customer service but alas we declined the bread. For the mains we ordered the brai (10) up charge, the lamb chops, the ribeye, and pork chop. The ribeye was great, cooked well, juicy and with good flavor. Lamb chops were also nice. The pork had an interesting flavor that my party member wasn't fond of, but it was cooked nicely and was reasonably juicy. The big miss was the brai. It had a 10 dollar upcharge for 1 row of lateral axis short rib, 1 lamb chops, and 1 sausage. The short rib was fine but a crap ton of fat. The lamb chop was good, the sausage was raw in the middle. When I brought it up to someone that the sausage was raw, they took the same sausage and cooked it until it was done. Keep in mind the restaurant is dark and my other companions had some of the sausage but the outer pieces. I had a piece in my mouth and had to spit it out because I could feel the raw meat sausage texture in my mouth. Instead of bringing me a new sausage they took the same one, which to me is outrageous especially because I had spit out a good piece. The waitress apologized but I had to ask to speak to the manager instead of someone coming to our table first. When they brought the same sausage out, it rolled off the plate onto the table....i just accepted it. They took off the 10 dollar up charge off the bill but I don't think that was enough especially with the whole debacle of the sausage being raw. I expected the restaurant to have a solution but I was put on the spot about what they needed to do. I wished I'd asked for the 1 meal to be half off or more than 10 dollars off just because of everything and the food quality and the terrible wait times. The mashed potatoes also weren't great. Green beans were good, jollof rice side was good. Desserts were fine. All in all, we expected better quality of food and service.

We also got the chicken that also comes with crab on top and a creamy sauce. Everything was so delicious! We will definitely be back!
