First time we had tried Home Grown. Was greeted and seated immediately. Our server was very personable. The food was so delicious. Actually couldn't finish my plate because they serve you big portions. The restaurant was very clean and had a great vibe. Will definitely put this on our list of places to eat!! You should give it a try!! Five stars Home Grown!!

This Brunch place won our monthly Book club meeting poll. We got on the waitlist to be seated at 10 AM and got seated immediately. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, it needed to have a stronger coffee taste for it to be considered Vietnamese in my opinion. I ordered the pork Salfe Verde with my egg over easy. Our food came out hot and in a reasonable time, my dish had the saltiness of the pork and egg, savoriness of the potatoes, with a little Chalula hot sauce to add it kick the dish was outstanding! Our server did a good job being patient with our party at five individuals and allowed us to conduct our Book club business without feeling rushed

We are always happy to eat @ HomeGrown. The food is delicious, with a wide variety you can choose. Fresh dishes and yummy baked food! Have a birthday to celebrate? A treat for you on the house!! Our service was great-thanks to Shari for bringing attentive! Loss of star is due to the wait time. We utilized the waitlist on the app, however, still waited 30 minutes past the estimated wait time.

Very, very DRY brown sugar and cinnamon pop'd heart

Enjoyed this restaurant during restaurant week. Be sure to get on the waiting list on Yelp before you go! This place was packed but service was great. I love the honey bee latte. The cinnamon coffee cake is amazing, especially with the warm caramel sauce, and it's a huge serving! The pork salsa verde with 2 eggs is a crowd favorite for a reason--it's very tasty. The eggs over easy were PERFECTLY cooked. I initially tried the brown sugar and cinnamon pop'd heart and I was really, really disappointed with it. I don't know if it was old, or didn't have a ton of filling, or what the problem was but it was so dry that my mouth felt like sandpaper. The filling was as hard and dry as the icing on top, which is like a dry glaze so it was very tough. I took one bite after I sawed a fork full off and thought on top of the dryness, it has no flavor. I told the waitress and I was so happy they made it right by replacing it with the coffee cake, which was very, very good! Thank you!!!

Quality breakfast/lunch spot. On the weekends you need to use the waitlist feature through Yelp. It saved us so much time. The service was good and fast. They are organized and do not leave you wanting for anything. Our server asked about hot sauce and ketchup while we were ordering and the bought them to the table before the food. The food was also so fast. You will wait longer for a table than you will for the food. I got the BLT.A.E. I love a breakfast sandwich and this one holds up. Bacon was cooked well the Mayo was just enough so the sandwich wasn't dry. The egg and avocado just made it all better. My only ish with the whole thing are the chips. They are very much a quick after thought and could be so much better.

Went on a Wednesday and was sat immediately. Food was good, both from the seasonal and year-round menus.

I went on a Sunday morning at about 8:30 and it was kind of busy, but there was still not a wait for us (a table of 6). The service was quick after sitting and ordering. It was spacious enough where it was easy to have conversations. The food was great, but overpriced for what you get (most brunch places are). Overall a good experience and I'd come back int the future!

I enjoyed this for brunch with my friend. We were on the waitlist briefly (less than 10mins) and enjoyed sitting on the patio! The waitstaff were very friendly and gave us some tips on the menu. We split a Key Like Pop'd Heart, it was excellent. Then I got the Chilliqueas and a juice: The Sunshine. The just was delicious, super fresh. They obviously juiced it there as soon as I ordered it. The chilequeas were fine, a bit too saucy for the amount of chips you get. My eggs were perfectly poached though, but not in the sauce like a lot of places that serve this dish. My friend got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was good, but needed pepper... actually everything needs salt or pepper. She did get a side of cheesy grits which were some of the best grits I've ever tasted in KC.

LOVE that this HomeGrown opened so much closer to me than the Leawood one (although that one will always have my heart). The location is wonderful and even has a lot of outdoor interest (fire pits, lawn games, etc). The servers were so friendly and knowledgeable! Service was quick and easy, even for a brand new location. Some people will find anything to complain about but honestly this place is my go-to brunch! Delicious seasonal options never disappoint! Do yourself a huge favor and get the coffee cake - it's out of this WORLD! The omelets are huge and fluffy and filled with deliciousness, and the rosemary breakfast potatoes always always slap. I have to say it again: GET. THE. COFFEE. CAKE.

This location just opened and it's busy so be aware and don't worry about the wait times. Check in online and it will keep you updated. We had Krista as a server and she was great the entire time, on top of the water and drinks. The food came out very quick for how busy they were and all of us enjoyed our food. Will for sure be coming back to this location!

My husband and I are huge fans of Homegrown and have been to almost all the location in Wichita, KC and Missouri. This is one of their newer locations and it didn't not disappoint. My husband thought their biscuits were some of the best yet. My sandwich was perfectly grilled and extra cheesy. Their coffee cake is always exceptional. This one was just a tiny bit drier than some of the prior pieces we have had but that didn't stop us from eating it all. The restaurant was very clean and the staff friendly. I'm hoping they can keep their quality up for years to come.

When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

Everything flows. It's organized chaos done right. The seasonal drinks are consistently creative and actually good. Not just pretty for Instagram. Balanced, thoughtful, and well executed. And the bakery? Dangerous. The display case is pure temptation. Cinnamon rolls, pecan twists, danishes, cookies, scones. Everything looks like the right choice, which makes choosing impossible. They also have solid brunch plates and sandwiches if you're trying to pretend you're here for something other than sugar and caffeine. Now for the one miss. I ordered the pepper jack breakfast burrito, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the rest of the experience. Flat flavors, mushy texture, no real identity. The hot sauce was doing most of the work. It felt out of place in a spot that clearly cares about quality. Thankfully, the bakery and coffee saved the day. The pecan twist was flaky, buttery, and just sweet enough. The seasonal latte with cold foam was smooth, balanced, and dialed in. Overall, McLain's is a Kansas City staple for a reason. Efficient, welcoming, and consistently good at what they do. One menu tweak away from being near-perfect. Solid 4-star spot. Would happily come back.

Upon doing some research I learned it's a scratch kitchen specializing in clean eats, and that it's a chain. A win for the health options, a ding for the chain, but not all chains are bad, an we are living in a time where there are some winners. So, I packed myself up and headed down the road to Prairie Village. It's still fairly new, and it has that squeaky clean feeling to it when you arrive. Inside it's counter service and you seat yourself (they will bring the food to you). It kind of reminded me of how Noodles and Company felt when they first became a thing way back in the early 2000s. I ordered a thai salad that came in at under 400 calories so I was honestly skeptical at how big or flavorful it would really be when it arrived, and holy cow was it good.
