We signed up for their rodent exclusion work and ended up with a headache and zero accountability from HomeShield for the damage done by their tech who stapled our coax cable, shorting it out and rendering our wifi service completely inactive. We couldn't figure out why our service was out for more than 48 hours until a Spectrum service rep came and found the problem. He also broke our AT&T fiber cable snapping it in the same location. AT&T charged us $100 for the repair to the fiber cable. We got a voicemail from a supervisor to apologize for the problem but no offer to reimburse us for what AT&T charged us and no follow-up to complete the rest of the work, which cost us $800 ($900 if you add the fee to replace the damaged cable). They are not returning my phone calls or emails. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional! read more

I called Homeshield over a year ago because I had a pincher bug infestation in my front yard. They came out and the problem has disappeared, for the most part (you'll see a pincher bug here and there, but normal). We also had a lot of spiders. I subscribed to their quarterly service. They come spray every 3 months, which has definitely helped keep the critters away. Luis G was my technician this time around and he was great. He was very professional and thorough. He explained exactly what he did and what he saw as far as critter activity. The only weird thing this time is that the amount debited was about 10 dollars more than in the past. I wasn't aware of the price increase so it would have been good for them to have mentioned it when they booked my appointment. read more

Nayef, Pest Control Technician is professional, timely, and courteous. He called to advise us of approximate arrival time. Nayef put on shoe covers when spraying inside the house along baseboards. Nayef knocked down cobwebs and sprayed along the foundation, cracks, crevices, and around windows and doors. He sprayed inside the garage, and placed sticky traps near walls and doors. We are satisfied with Nayef's thorough treatment, and look forward to quarterly follow up. read more

Started off a contract well enough. Techs came, were friendly, and did honest work. Over time, I got several techs who sit in their truck most of the time they're supposed to be servicing your house. Recently wasted weeks of time on additional service - just given the runaround after being charged. Ultimately refunded after multiple calls, but no explanation of anything even after asking for one. Customer service agents are great, and so are some of the techs and account managers. But a good number people on the actual service side are either shady or disorganized or both. Never again. I bet if you're a one off customer and at home during service, it'll be fine. If you're on a contract and away from home during service, who knows. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Dindial aka "D" today at my parent's house for their home inspection. While inspections due to pest control needs is never desirable, D did an amazing and thorough job! I randomly saw a Homeshield van on the 405 a week ago and decided to come to Yelp to see if they were a viable option. My parents have been tormented by a deer mouse that seemed to live rent free in their living room (and God knows where else). The great ratings prompted me to reach out to them via the 'free quote' option on Yelp. They were responsive and one of their customer service agents reached out to let me know I can utilize a free home inspection before a proper quote could be given. They followed up the next day with a call to schedule one. I liked that there was a good balance of initiative and follow-through. They didn't 'pester' me (see what I did there?) but they didn't make me chase them down to move forward. When I scheduled the inspection, they gave me a time window of 1-4 pm and said their inspector would give me a ring 30 minutes before arriving. D indeed gave me a 30 min heads up before showing up and he got right down to it starting with the exterior of the house. Straightaway he was able to find tons of access points in the garage alone. My dad is immunocompromised and he was kind enough to wear a mask while inspecting the house. We don't wear shoes in the house and he was able to respect that as well. We made sure he, of course, had access to his shoes when he was going into sketchy spaces like our attic and such. (Safety first!) Both the masks and shoes were an extra step for him, but he did it happily! He was able to draw up a quote for us on the spot and gave us multiple options to meet our needs. For the free inspection and interaction with HomeShield's customer service team, they get an A+. read more

We've had HomeShield for almost a year now due to some unwanted guests last year. Our first visit was great and they took care of the problem right away. We did have some little issues a couple months back but they were addressed and taken care of by manager Manel. Our most recent service by Adam was awesome. He ways goes above and beyond when he services my property, not only taking care of everything in my service agreement, like spraying around the property for various pests, and dewebbing as needed, but he also does things like put products in our lawn to avert animals away from using it as a toilet. This is probably the worst customer service and follow through of any business I have ever used. They said I had evidence of a rodent problem and sold me on a contract. I paid them money to initiate service and they showed up once to drop traps, charged me again. Sent some who was completely unqualified and rude a second time to look at one trap for 3 minutes and then charged me again. The person was also 7 hours late for the appointment but instead of rescheduling, Homeshield just kept saying that he'll be there in the next hour, so I just kept waiting. Liars Tarik also messed up communication about the termite fumigation. Multiple times I asked him if I had to handle the gas company disconnection and reconnection. He said no, he handles it. But when I return home at 8pm after work there a note from gas co saying sorry we missed you. Tarik did not handle it. Liar. The next appointment I could get was two days later. So no hot water for two days. I had to pay out of pocket for a hotel because Homeshield employees lie. Then, Brian, the main service manager, said he'd take over the account so that everything would be handled. It's been over two months since the rodent service contract. It's been multiple emails and calls about addressing it. Nothing has been handled. Most of the time no response. Sometimes an excuse about how he got busy because of Memorial Day holiday. Seriously?? Anyway, I've reached out one final time. I used them for my pest control spray which trey mess up scheduling on that too I am definitely canceling all services. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache and lost money. Don't use Homeshield. They are disorganized at best. Potentially fraudulent at worst. We'll see how they respond to request to complete or cancel/refund. read more
