The little bread rolls are amazing with the homemade marinara sauce. I go here at least once a week. They have a great menu with lots of selections. Location is awesome with plenty of parking. The pizza was almost the worst I've ever had, besides my hotel covid quarantine pizza in Mexico. The half inch cheese came all the way off the doughy break clean with barely any sauce. I have been frequenting Homeslice for 13 years and it makes me sad to give them such a negative review; however, Homeslice has gone from being one of my favorite local eateries to one of my least favorite. I'll first preface this by saying that we are very low maintenance patrons. But it was Literally the worst service we've ever had. The food was terrible at best. Charcoal burned pizza, the driest, grossest, stringiest, hardest chicken wings we've ever had (that took 45 minutes) after our other food came, too many issues to name. And non-existent service. What do you look for in a pizza... And a pizza place? Consistent pizza that looks like it tastes? Well, pizza looked great, so we ordered slices. Dough looked like the right texture. Ingredients looked awesome. Pizza looked the right thickness for the crust style I like. Mouth was starting to water when the guy put a fresh pie in the slice section. What did the counter staff do when I ordered a slice from that pizza? Took the delectable-looking pizza slice and put it back in the oven!!!! ....for a toasting! ... not kidding! So... the soft crust (which I was anticipating) became hard, toasted crust. This, literally, brought tears to my eyes. She did the same with the garlic roll... Transformed a delicious looking mound of soft bread into something resembling a stale piece of bread you'd hand out in a medieval prison. Is this standard practice, or did my counter staff person just have no situational awareness or leave it in the oven too long? How about asking if I want my crust toasted? I didn't try the pizza before "reprocessing," so I cannot comment on a freshly made, non-reheated pizza, so this could easily have been a four-star review. Pizza was tasty despite the toasting (what I am used to when I reheat my own pizza at home the next day.), so if you plan on just ordering a fresh pizza, you might be in luck. If ordering by the slice, either tell her "do not reheat," or "only put it in for half the time you usually do." The red sauce that came with my prison roll was pretty good and helped soften it up a bit. Atmosphere was what you'd expect in a college-town pie place... Reggae music playing in the background. Excellent pizza joint! We had a bigger group and we just showed up with no reservations (if they even take any!) And the guys kindly and happily accommodated us without hesitation. We ordered four different pizzas and every style was delicious. The crust is a nice handtossed thickness with the perfect amount of crust on the end so you can hold onto your slice. All the toppings were generous and evenly distributed (that matters to me!). The crust is firm but not chewy, soft but never soggy or greasy. Dillon told us about 30 minutes and it might have been closer to 20. Excellent service! This is seriously one of the best pizza joints I've ever happened upon. All ten of us were very happy. Plus! Perfect blend of chewy and yet crispy crust. Order from here regularly - delivery and pickup. Delivery can take a while, but once I knew that I planned accordingly and find it a small trade off. Highly recommend if you want a good pie - also have had their meatball sub, Italian beef, calzones, and sides. Super disappointed in our experience last night. I brought my family and friends to eat here last night. My mother is vegan and my daughters have a dairy allergy. I have always had great luck going to a small, crafty pizza place. Typically they are always accommodating. Not this time at all! The attitude started immediately and was so unprofessional. Instead of trying to help us figure out a good, affordable option they just wanted to overcharge us for a veggie pizza without cheese. And then when my mom asked if we could substitute cheese for a veggie instead, the employee said no. Every topping will be an extra $2 each. What? Really? Then my mom said No that doesn't work for her. The employee said "Ok good". Then when my mom walked off she said to the next people in line who were our friends who we brought there - "I don't have time for that shit". Really? Wow! Unbelievable. I did order a meatball sub, side salad and Pepsi (only came in a 2-liter) to be delivered to my hotel. It took a very, very long time to deliver, but I anticipated this when I placed the order. The delivery guy was apologetic and very polite which I found oddly charming. The food was absolutely delicious despite having been in the delivery car awhile. The staff is always friendly. I have eaten most of their specialty pizzas; all of which were delish! Plus, they will do 'half & half' on their specialty pizzas! And the cheese is second rate preshredded mozzarella. It's easy to get away with bottom shelf Pizza in Durango given the competition so I doubt they'll do self taste test with a legitimate pizzeria or even a chain restaurant in this case. The house salad is a bed of lettuce with shredded Parmesan - no other toppings - and a vinaigrette dressing for $5.00. the cheese pizza slices are $2.40, if I remember correctly, plus 35 cents per topping. To add insult to injury the guy on the phone called me a liar and told me that they had never delivered a pizza to my address.
