Overall a decent experience, but nothing crazy! This place was open late, so I decided to swing by. Parking and location were very convenient and easy to find. Inside, the ambiance was very small town, with a welcoming southern charm. The food came out extraordinarily quickly, and I had no complaints about the service. I stopped by here on a lazy Sunday off of work for something quick. Walking in was like walking into a relative's house for breakfast, such a laidback atmosphere. Not only was it delivered to my table quickly, they also delivered in flavor too with this French Toast. It was also super affordable in comparison to what I'm used to spending on brunch. The lady at the counter was extremely sweet and answered the one question I had with a positive attitude. This was my first and last time coming to this establishment! The customer service was good the workers were nice but one of the workers whom I guess was the manager on duty had changed a trash bag with his bare hands and did not wash them when he was done and continued to mess with stuff in the kitchen including pies. It raised a food safety concern with me, we addressed the issue with them and he lied to my girlfriend claiming he washed his hands but didn't! The girl working the register ended up serving us she was very nice and helping. We got a slice of fruity pebbles cheesecake and a slice of cinnamon roll cheesecake which was old because it smelled very off to the point when I opened the box the smell hit my nose! and a slice of apple pie, I typed this review because I feel as if people need to watch more carefully whom handles there food and also need to stay on top of these restaurants with what they are doing! We arrived at 11am with the hopes of having breakfast. The counter person asked if we need a few minutes to look at the menu before we ordered. Since it was our first time there, we didn't know that breakfast stopped sharply at 11, so is was 11:02 when we were asked if we knew what we wanted and then told we couldn't have breakfast. I said that we were there at the counter at 11 and they told me it didn't matter, we could not have breakfast. Very disappointing since they could have said something when they asked if we needed a few minutes. I ended up ordering the pot roast which was good, but it wasn't the blueberry pancakes I really wanted. My friend order the tuna fish (and specially told the counter person she wanted it cold, not a tuna melt. Well it was hot and a piece of cold cheese was slapped on it. She was not impressed with the tuna salad at all. I don't know if I will stop there again. I understand not being able to order breakfast if it's 11:10 or later but it was literally 11:02 when they took our order. read more

Quaint country cooking is the best description for this place. A few blue plates to choose from such as the meatloaf dinner or chicken pie dinner. A variety of burgers and salads. Of course pies galore for dessert. I had the chicken pot pie, mash potatoes with gravy and cornbread. The pot pie was flavorful but could use more veggies. The mash potatoes and gravy were cold and the gravy gelatinous. The cornbread had a nice sweet flavor but was a little dry. Also the iced water from the fountain had a funny taste. My daughter had the fish and chips with Mac n cheese. The fish was ok- one piece was nicely battered and crispy on the outside and white and fluffy inside as it should be. No idea about service or ambiance, as we've only ordered delivery, but we've never been disappointed by the food quality, whether breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just some pie! This play has a great standing establishment with the community. I decided to give it a try and order the cherry bomb burger to go. The staff was very pleasant. Ordered Shepherds Pie with cornbread and Mac n cheese. Cheesecake for a treat. The pie had no peas or carrots. Just ground meat, gravy., mayby onion, topped with mashed potatoes with some chopped red peppers and cheese. The cornbread was not cooked all the way. I had lunch at the Cherry Pit Cafe today. It's a cute little place. I had the Chicken Salad on a croissant with Sweet Potato Tots. I was expecting a small size croissant but it was huge with a nice scoop of chicken salad. The chicken salad was very good and simply made. Service took a lot longer than I thought it should. I got a slice of quiche and it took a lot longer than I thought it should. The quiche was decent. I will return to try their other pies. Service didn't really hit the mark for me. Cashier made an unprofessional comment about a delivery driver that I thought did not belong in a place of business. Being nearby, after an eye exam where my eyes were diluted, gave me a good reason to come here for lunch while my eyes adjusted. Not that I need reason beyond the great food and service. Since I got here shortly after 11:00 am there was no line, which is good and bad. Good because I will get my meal quicker, but bad because I had to decide what I wanted to eat quickly. And with so many outstanding choices deciding quickly isn't easy. But since the Monday special is Burgers for $2.00 off it helped quicken my choice. A cheeseburger w/LT&M and a side of fried Zucchini! And, to top it off, a slice of my favorite dessert, Coconut Cream Pie, mmmmmm! And this is the pie of the month so I will be back with the empty pie pan from last purchase to take home another whole pie. Bright days ahead. And the staff was very diligent to make sure the tables and the seats were cleaned quickly. We were on the way home from playing soccer at Brian Park and looking for something different for dinner and ran across Cherry Pit Cafe an and decided to give it a try. We decided to split the Buffalo chicken wrap and club sandwich our child got the cheeseburger. Everything was hot and super fresh when it came out to our table. Sides were fries and zucchini bites. The zucchini bites are a must have! They are served fried and covered with freshly grated parmesan cheese and marinara sauce. The desserts looked amazing and I'm sad to say that we didn't try any but the fruity pebble cheesecake was calling my name. I will be back and will try it on our next visit. I highly recommend this spot especially if you're there playing soccer because it's so close to the fields. read more

Oh I love this little diner. What a great location also. My hubby and I stopped in for breakfast and it never disappoints. The line is long but moves fairly quickly. This is one of my go-to restaurants in the area! It's always delicious and fast. It can get crowded in the mornings, especially on the weekend but the food comes out quick & you can always place a to-go order. It's small inside but there's still a decent amount of seating. My favorite thing to order is their grilled cheese - it's a classic diner grilled cheese which is exactly how I like it. I usually get fries or soup as a side. I like their fries but I try to ask for them well-done because I like them crispier. I do wish they had a little more salt though. The vegetable soup is another one of my favorite things to get. It's really good & hearty! Plus I think they always have it, instead of it being a seasonal soup, which I appreciate. I've been with my mom & she always gets the quiche and says it's delicious. I've never tried their desserts but they look amazing in the case so I need to go back and try them. They have so many different types of pie. Plenty big, comparable to a Banquet or similar frozen pot pie in size, and the fillings were good texture and well-seasoned. The only minor complaints we had were that her top crust was a little thick, and mine was a bit potato-heavy. More peas and carrots would have been nice. Of course we opted for pie. I went with the lemon chess, which was described as being like a lemon bar. I found it a bit more custard-like, and not as lemony as I'd hoped. Barb's cherry crumb was very good in all aspects. So, it's Monday afternoon and I'm hungry! I didn't want to cook and I wanted to try a new restaurant. After a Google search of nearby restaurants, I chose Cherry Pit Cafe & Pie Shop! I ordered online for pickup. I placed my order while I was still home at 2:14pm. The ETA for my food being ready was 15-30 minutes. Ordering online charged a $1.50 convenience fee. As I'm typing this, I realized I could've just called and placed the order to avoid that.. Oh well. After ordering, I went ahead and headed to the restaurant since I didn't live far away. got the Big Tex Burger (BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on grilled Parmesan Texas toast) minus the tomato and lettuce and added grilled onions. As a side, I got the sweet potato tots. On Mondays, they have $2 off burgers. They have a special for each day of the week. I arrived at 2:19pm. Of course, my food wasn't ready yet. However, while browsing, I saw a desert item that looked delicious: Brownie Ate My Cookie. I ended up getting that too when my order was ready. I can't say when that was because I stepped out to take a phone call. When I went back in around 2:45pm, it was ready. I didn't like how they didn't put my dessert is the bag with my food. The staff person just placed it on top. When I got in the car, the food and dessert smelled delicious and i was eager to get home and satisfy my hunger! The tots were tasty and were as expected. I enjoyed my burger as well, especially the toast! The Brownie Ate My Cookie was very interesting. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to warm it/soften it. The cookie was in the middle. I ended up checking out this spot while waiting for the UPS store next door to open. There was a fair amount of people dining in and ordering take out. They definitely made the most out of the space. It felt like a southern diner. It took about 30min to get through the line, place my order and wait for my food to go. The persons at the counter were friendly and patient. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a brownie. The chicken pot pie was pretty good. So filling that I made 2 meals out of it. I bought the brownie for my brother and he said it was good. Probably the best flavor I've ever tasted in a chicken pot pie and thats saying alot. The crust was flaky but not hard and it was on the top and bottom. The sweet potato tots are tasty Loved the sprinkle of brown sugar I think is placed on it. I do think it could go up a notch if they added some type of dipping sauce. Mash potatoes were good even without gravy; though I wished they had. Lemon chicken breast didn't taste like Lemon but nonetheless still flavored well and it wasn't dry. Mixed vegetables (brocolli & carrots) were just right. I would definitely continue to try different entrees. Maybe next time I will try some dessert. I got takeout, but all the service people were nice, and the decor was a bit like a chain diner. Only three stars because my picks weren't my favorite. I got a tuna salad sandwich, but it was warm, and not quite a tuna melt. I took a few bites, didn't really like it (the cheese was melted and the tuna was a bit seared on the sides with warm bacon), so I put the sandwich in the fridge, and revisited it for dinner as cold tuna salad on a croissant, and it was good. I also got a piece of the Blueberry Dream pie. I really just wanted blueberry, and the dream version has a lot of whipped cream, so it wasn't quite what I was looking for. It's served with a brown gravy, and two sides! I chose mashed potatoes (obviously) and zucchini bites. The meatloaf is fantastic never dry, and the gravy adds to it for sure. The zucchini are crisp and a little spicy. Perfect addition is the marinara they serve with them for dipping. Also the mashed potatoes are beautiful and creamy! This is a small business that really excels in service. Cashiers and servers are always polite and my all time favorite pie is the Apple Crumb that I order every holiday. It comes really close to the apple pies my mom made from scratch when I was a kid. I highly recommend stopping by when you are having a craving for sweets. Their brownies are superb! I had probably driven by Cherry Pit Cafe dozens of times growing up before I ever set foot in the door and my only regret is that I never stopped in sooner. Cherry Pit has a big menu that appeals to all appetites, all ages, and all styles of food preferences. The chicken salad sandwich on a croissant is by far my favorite item on the menu, yet I've yet to have anything bad either.
