The broccoli wasn't seasoned (I was given salt in a sauce cup it myself)! The smokey beans had an overpowering vinegar taste..YUCK! The rib tips had cashew nut dust particles on it. The pineapple refresher wasn't refreshing at all! It was tart and bitter! The service provided by Andre was terrible. There was a black girl employee sitting off to the side by the smoker eating and licking her fingers. She went right back to the food prep area and proceeded to get back to work. When it was noticed that we left with 80% of the food on the table, no one asked what they could do to make the food and service better. I had to make a reservation and when I arrived I was the only customer in the building! The ribs (very tender), I received 4 ribs that I was charged $38 for! I would sprint, and run from this restaurant! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Pictures are shown with this review! By far thee worst $120+ food experience!
My coworkers and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! What a hidden gem and right next to where we work! Our service was phenomenal. We really appreciated all of our servers recommendations. Everything that we had was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was perfect. It was a great space to hang out and Have some delicious dinner and drinks after work![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The brisket sandwich was amazing. They cook their meat to perfection. The Frito pie was so gooey and hit the spot! The loaded tater tots were also great, I highly recommend them. The mac & cheese was probably our favorite so if you could only pick one side, I think that would be the right choice. The wings were also very good, but in comparison to everything else, I think we would pass on them next time. The mango daiquiri was amazing and so were other drinks. I wouldn't have known that this place existed if it were not for my coworker. I'm very much looking forward to coming again!
Delicious food and great service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love this place but wish they did live bands or open mic nights, some more fun activities since we live closeby but somehow it's usually packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love being able to try their different sauces, their spicy one is my personal favorite. I usually get their pulled pork sandwich but they have so many delicious options to choose from. Try to save room for dessert because you're going to want to try their banana pudding!
I went to hometown barbecue for lunch as I heard that they run out of the popular items if you go later in the day. Unfortunately ordering food at the desk is quite slow. There's only one person working the tablet and they struggled to keep the line moving even though it was quite long. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is free for all so we got a table after ordering and waited for our food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My group wanted to try as many things as possible so we ordered the brisket, char siu pork ribs, rib tips, and the sausage to eat at the restaurant. The best item by far was the brisket. It was super tender and melted in my mouth even the lean. I thought the flavor on the rib tips and the pork ribs were similar. Unfortunately, the rib tips were cold and tough which was super disappointing since everything else was hot. The sausage was solid but nothing memorable. For the price, I was expecting all of the food to be juicier, warmer, and more tender.
Delicious BBQ with a twist! A little American some Asian and some Latin flavors all combined makes for a unique and so flavorful BBQ experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is definitely out of the ordinary, but the rustic unrefined look of this warehouse bay -just works.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is the star of the show here and it definitely does not disappoint! The BBQ lovers will love the selections of meats they have to offer. We ordered a little bit of everything - perfect way to try it all out. The portions are good and definitely shareable-except for the frito pie it's so good I don't think you want to share it after the first bite.
So lucky we found this place after a museum. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a very cool vibe in a warehouse district, very industrial looking dining room, open, good tunes playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service isn't perfect as you order from the counter, then wait for your food, but that just gives it more takeout versatility. Beef ribs were excellent, the potato salad was delicious, I liked the unique texture they went with. The cornbread was top tier and the Mac and cheese was mid. But Overall, a wonderful place.

The brisket queso dip you could see and taste the brisket pieces and the smoke on the turkey was just perfect, can't wait to go back!

Three stars for a spot that gives the vibes but didn't really do much in terms of the food department. I checked out the spot for a late lunch on Sunday. The place was not really busy but the traffic was steady. I ordered the Frito pie and the Asian sticky ribs. This was my first time ordering the Frito pie. It wasn't bad but definitely not a standout. What was a standout was the pickled onions they topped the pie with. Some of the best onions I have ever had, I would put them on everything! The ribs were cooked ok, they had a very candied taste to the sauce but I still didn't care for the sauce on the ribs; it just didn't work well. Another person in my party had the chicken and they said it was dry. I tried a piece, it was ok and they were right. Both of the people in my party had the mac and cheese and they loved. It was a creamy, stovetop mac and cheese (not baked), which is not ideal for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is located in an industrial area and it definitely fits the area. It was a wide open warehouse space with park bench seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music selection was nice and added to the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was very fast. I probably would not come back for the food. But if you want a spot that gives good vibes that are not contrary to the typical Miami vibe, you might like this spot.
Trash like omggg insulting. Besides the amazing staff the food is garbage and is served cold had to return it. It tasted like leftover from days ago they reheated and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was so disappointed after seeing the smokers out back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ridiculously expensive for what you get honestly and would not go back or recommend.
Was leaving Miami today and wanted to grab some BBQ so I decided to try this place based off of reviews. Easy to find but not a lot of parking. I ended up having to park around the block and pay for street parking. The place is in an old industrial building. They have redid it find. but kinda weird. Staff was friendly. Food was served fast. The menu is somrwhat limited I feel. I got some pulled pork, a sausage, and the elote. but every ala carte. I wish they had a combo where you could try multiple meats and sides. I did not care for the chipolte creama on the corn. The pulled pork was fresh, good flavor. They had two Sauces on they table, one hot and one regular. Both were fine. The sausage was by far the best thing that I had. Very delicious. All in all, expensive for what is was in my opinion. Hard to recommend it or not, because I haven't been to any other BBQ in the area. Maybe I just didn't get their best stuff.

INCREDIBLE BBQ! So scrumptious and so absolutely addictive it's impossible to stop once you get going! Sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Miami sunshine outside the back of the restaurant. The biggest surprises that were culinary standouts were the Oaxacan Chicken and Charsiu Baby Back Ribs...food was so good we wanted to include the chef in the will! Also not to be glossed over by any means, the brisket had a wonderful bark, a fantastic portion and a perfect cook. We loved the Pulled Pork and the Frito pie was a hitter and made me reconsider the meaning of life. Let's not forget about the sides: the Smoked Pit Beans with the Smoked Pork were succulent and the Hometown slaw had a nice spin on it by not being so mayo centric. If I lived in Miami, I'd happily give them all my money on a regular basis so wander down and see what I'm talking bout' if you don't know already.

One of the best meals I've had in a while. I've been in St. Louis for a few years and have never come across bbq as good as hometown bbq here in miami. Not only was the brisket tender but the mac and cheese was utterly divine. We originally came here on a whim since it was close to the superblue and rubell museum. It seems quite humble on the outside but the inside is very spacious and comfortable. The service was swift and they had the food out quickly after ordering in true bbq fashion. The watermelon salad was also a refreshing complement to the meat and pasta. I took the leftover watermelon salad and it still tasted great the next morning. Will definitely be going back again. read more
I had been wanting to try this spot because i heard so many good things and i didn't disappoint. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the Mac and cheese. I would definitely go back for that. The Mac and cheese was okay wasn't what i expected. But i really liked the smoke wings also. They had other items on the menu i wanted to try so i will have to make another trip but overall it's worth the money. read more

Low lighting, very moody and industrial atmosphere. Usually play 90s rap - giving New York restaurant vibes. One of my lowkey favorite places of eat in Miami. Food is consistently great and the service is always on point. read more
3 star rating for the food and prices. This has nothing on Texas bbq. The beef rib had so much fat, we can barely eat any of it. The pork ribs were good but nothing crazy. The beans were great, had a nice spicy flavor. Now the cornbread and brisket queso were heavenly. I recommend trying those things. The vibe is good too, live music on weekends. Been looking at Hometown for awhile now and finally got around to trying it. In my honest opinion, what determines a great BBQ place is by its brisket. I ordered a half pound of Brisket with a side of Mac and Cheese and Cornbread while my brother ordered a half pound of Pulled Pork with Cornbread. The Brisket was nothing less than fantastic. Very tender, melts in your mouth deliciousness. Exactly what I expect from a brisket. It could have used a little salt though but nonetheless it was indeed delicious. The max and cheese also delicious. Plenty of Panko on it and very cheese gooey goodness. The Cornbread, absolutely wholesome sweetness WOW. Even tried a little bit of my brother's pulled pork. Very very tender and delicious. Great service and great beer to go along with the meal. read more

Finally got to try this spot out and came with a couple of friends. The service was decent and the ambiance is nice and spacious. I only got the Mac and cheese because I wasn't that hungry but it was good. It was hot and fresh and the crumbs on top were really good. I do think it was missing some spices it was a little bland but that's just my personal preference. I would go again to try out the meat next time. read more

Hometown Bar-B-Que has arrived and I'm so here for it. This place feels as if it was plucked straight from Brooklyn and plopped down in Allapattah. It gives me hope for what this area can become! Breweries? Coffeeshops? Boutiques? Just a matter of time. For now though, this food alone is worth the trip! I came in with my husband and babe for a lunch on a Sunday soon after opening. It was packed and not with your typical Miami crowd (whatever that means). There were so many babies in strollers, older folks, families, hipsters... I honestly felt like I was in NYC. My husband snagged a table while I waited in line. This was the worst part, as it took quite awhile. (Rant: I don't understand how it can take people so long to order when you've been standing in line for so long waiting to order and ideally studying the menu. But I digress...) There's a big bar and you can definitely grab a drink for while you wait. Lesson learned! To eat, we finally ordered the slab jerk bacon, 1/2 lb of pork ribs, brisket, cornbread, and queso mac and cheese. Really great BBQ in Miami is hard to come but Hometown wipes all those worries away. All the meat was really legit and it came out fast. It's hard to pick a favorite, just get it all. The sides were good, but I'd agree the mac and cheese wasn't mind blowing. I'm going to make my way through the rest of the list very soon! It's not cheap but the quality is there. We left full and with smiles on our face, making me all but forget the wait in line... Parking can be found alongside the restaurant but there aren't too many spots, so if you come at prime time, you're better off finding a metered street parking spot around the corner. There's so much seating both inside and out on the patio where it's definitely dog friendly. Overall, Hometown Bar-B-Que is the kind of spot you just want to hang out at with a group of friends, sipping drinks and eating dang good food on a sunny weekend day... I just like to start off by saying parking was a complete hassle. I couldn't park on what I'm going to say is the back of the building because you just couldn't. Then in the plaza were all the other vendors are, it was difficult to choose where to park. Right infront of the restaurant there's a bunch of trees that have no parking signs yet in the area where the sign that says Hometown bbq parking plaza, 2 different vendors told me I couldn't park there. And they were questionable characters. Finally I made it into the restaurant. I loved the music they had on, old style 80's-90's hip hop. Only problem was it was incredibly loud. When I went to use the bathroom, there's 4 doors. Literally none of them have a sign. I finally got it right the 4th time. When it became time to order, I ordered the brisket sandwich which came with no sides, I also ordered the beans and the coleslaw. $28 + $2 of tip that I left. Thank God the water is actually free. I say again $30 without an alcoholic drink or soda! I have eaten at Salt Lick in Texas, at Full Service barbecue in Tennessee, and at Mike's barbecue out of the back of a truck in Key Largo in the Florida keys. Not only are they all cheaper they're better!!! The brisket was very good I'll admit that, salty, tender, you could really taste what I think was also the vinegar. The homemade barbecue was nice, the hot sauce was definitely hot but water down, almost like an oil slick, the beans were good but not hot, like lukewarm, and the coldslaw was fresh and crispy but nothing to write home to mom about. Now as you could see in the photo that I took, the sandwich does look delicious and it was pretty good however the bun sort of fell apart as I got thru it. Like everything just wanted to come out. To me it was overly toasted. I think what really disappointed me was the price of the food which seriously come on and the stone cold faces of some of the employees. It's almost like if they were angry being there. Now I don't mind bad service if the food is good but it was hard to not see the disgust in some of their faces. I'm not quite sure why that was. I will say that the cashier that took my order and the person that brought me the food were pleasant but other than that I don't know. Honestly this is like a one and done for me. I go to Publix and get a full sub or drive up to Davie and check out Smoke and get much more bang for my buck. I really wanted to like this place and I sort of did, I like the look the restaurant has, the music and the food is quite nice but I could get better food for cheaper the price and I don't have to be told where to park 2 different times. Welcoming atmosphere and the smell is inviting. If you know me you know that I'm not a meat eater but when I'm Rome you Roam lol. Anyhow, it hit the spot and my partner loved every bit of it. Miami has been lacking in BBQ so I was soooo beyond thrilled when Hometown Bar-B-Que opened up! Located in what seems like sea of warehouses in Allapatah - Hometown is a huge build out where your BBQ dreams can come true. The way it works is that you wait in line to order and then find a seat once you decide what you'd like. The BBQ meats are by the pound, there are sandwiches, and sides as well. Pro Tip- since the line is rather long - you can grab a drink at their bar and take it to the line as you wait! I have tried Hometown at events around town and their jerk bacon is amazing. We also ordered brisket, mac and cheese, sausage, cornbread, and ribs. Our platter of meats came to us rather quickly after we ordered. My most favorite was the brisket. I also loved that this order came with pickles and onions because your girl loves pickles. Gotta come back and try the sandwiches. PS - there is parking at the restaurant, but it's pretty limited so you will most likely need to find parking down the street (which is plentiful). read more

Found this place on Yelp randomly while searching for a place to have lunch. It's i a weird place but once you go inside everything is super cute. Service was really great, my friend didn't like something she ordered and they didn't hesitate in replacing it for something else. Now for the food: the brisket was melt in your mouth soft! And the broccoli is THE BEST I've ever had! It was so delicious .... Obviously I was too excited to start eating before taking pictures lol. If you're in the area definitely check this place out ... yes it's pricey but the food is worth it!!! read more

I had first tried Hometown BBQ during quarantine and fell in love with their Mac & Cheese, which can be a little expensive considering the size. The smoked wings are pretty good and the brisket sandwich has a nice taste but its a little too spicy for my liking. I had a recent dine in experience. We had ordered the special baby back ribs which has a hot n sweet sauce with semi seeds and scallions. I was extremely disappointed with how the ribs tasted. The meat was hard and not tasty at all. Everyone is friendly and attentive. I will def come back. read more
I've driven by a few times and had no idea this was a restaurant, until I saw a few people walking in and decided to look them up. I'm so glad I did. I placed a delivery order and everything came just perfect. If you are in the mood for some authentic barbque food this is your place. We order different items to try and wow EVERYTHING was so delicious. I can't say one was better than the other because they were all so delicious. I have to say I'm very impressed with not only their food taste but their delivery. Sustainable packaging, followed order notes, very fast and reliable. I actually wanted to order a little bit of what seemed the most delicious and it didn't disappoint. Next time I will definitely be going in to eat at the restaurant. The smoked turkey BLT Sandwich is easily for two very good portions. And my son loved it, I had a bite and wow it was so good. Queso mac and cheese my son loved it. Corn bread with honey butter was so delicious. I can't wait to order again so that I could have more. Potato salad was good as well. Pastrami Bacon was good as well. Frito Pie hands down is so delicious. The ribs were good as well and their bbq sauce it's really good too. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be ordering again soon. read more

My only regret is not coming here sooner!!! As a native GA gal, I have missed having a solid bbq place in Miami so much! This place has definitely filled that void for me. I ordered the brisket sandwich and shared the Mac & Cheese + cornbread - 10/10 for everything. The brisket sandwich was perfectly juicy and crispy. The cornbread was some of the best I've had in a while. The Mac and cheese creaminess cannot be compared. I basically needed to be rolled out because I was so full, but so worth it. There is limited parking on site. You order at the front and the waiter brings the food to your table. They had live music outside and it was so fun! read more
It's a must in Miami! My fiance brought me here and it was one of the best places she introduced me to. The brisket taco is worth the price as it is decadent in flavor and texture. The Elote was ok and the wings were amazing. The chef showed us around and even explain the slow cooking process the brisket goes through. read more

The outside doesnt look like much, but trust me stopping here will be the highlight of your trip! They have a wood fired menu that showcases a selection of dishes cooked over live fire. Do not be scared to try anything on the menu, it is all great! Best BBQ in South Florida! read more
Really really good bbq. This hole in the wall has an amazing atmosphere and better food. Service: 10/10, the lady upfront gave up recommendations of what to get, being our first time. The mac n cheese was my absolute favorite but the bbq was a close second! The price: 9/10 only because it is on the pricier side :/ super good food but for our total came out to $78 for 2 meals. Definitely one of the more expensive bbqs I've ever had! Atmosphere: 10/10 there was live music and the crowd was very cool! I was tired of eating Mexican food and was itching for some corn bread. I decided to order some food from Hometown BarBQue. My food arrived hot which was good. Let's start off with the brisket taco. The brisket was rather drying like super drying. Thank goodness for tne spicy queso on top that made it easy to eat. The mac and cheese i had high hopes for but was just ok. It needed some more seasoning and then I would give it an 8. Now we save the best for last. The cornbread. The cornbread. Whewww some of the best corn bread I have had in awhile. I wanted to eat my fingers. I didn't care for most of the food but baby I'll definitely be ordering more cornbread. read more

Love a good BBQ Spot! Was attended fairly quickly and the menu is to the left to let you know what is available for the day. My pulled pork sandwich was so yummy!!! My SO got the brisket with Mac and cheese & cornbread....the corn bread was probably THE BEST I have ever had. 10/10 location Price 8/10- it is fairly pricey but I do think it's worth it! read more
After first having visited it's flagship location in Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood, I caught the news of them branching out to Miami and couldn't catch my breath from the excitement this addition would be to my life. Inhabiting a former produce warehouse, this rustic and open-spaced warehouse brings the attention to an industrial part of Alapattah which is the neighborhood directly west of Wynwood making its vicinity to the hotspot of Miami just an exit away. The line is the most daunting part of the dining experience but luckily it moves rather quick. The menu is simple but there's nothing basic about the juiciness of that pulled pork or the spicy notes in the Lamb Ban Mi. Truly, this is the finest barbecue spot I've ever been to. Tucked away in the rear of the dining area is the bar where hand-crafted cocktails and beers are poured with the same level of potency as their food menu boasts. The brisket is certainly tasty and cooked low and slow for the right texture. Smothered in their homemade barbecue sauces, these meats are decadent paired with either side or with a slab of bacon. The tacos are HUGE and basically the size of a burrito. The wings are perfectly charred with mole poblano served alongside a creamy sauce topped with queso fresco. Truly, a treat for a beefy yet refined appetite. Time to put some south in yo mouth with Hometown BBQ's saucy meats. I'm forever a fan. We tried the sausage, brisket & baby back ribs. All the meats were fantastic, overly salty but very tasty. The brisket stood out, in my opinion it was the best item we had. For sides we had the beans, coleslaw & potato salad which were all mediocre. If i was in the area I would certainly get the brisket again but everything else really didn't leave an impression. read more

Beautiful day for this trendy, yet welcoming open air bar. Located smack in the middle of the industrial part of downtown Miami. You most likely wouldn't find this place unless you live here or like myself, looked to Yelp. Came before the lunch rush and the food came out fast. We got a few things but our favorites by far were: queso mac n cheese and the lamb bahn mi. Wasn't a huge fan of the brisket which is usually my go-to at BBQ joints. The food is fresh, great bar and vibe with a friendly staff and even better food. Definitely wasn't expecting to find something like this in the area. We shall return :) read more

I've been to hometown barbecue on three different occasions, twice for lunch and once for dinner! The lunch and dinner vibes are very different as for lunch it is a very informal setting, you make a line at the register to order your food and can sit yourself, while for dinner you have a server. The restaurant appears to always be full, which is a good indication of how good the food is!! The brisket, corn bread and Mac and cheese are the best items on the menu in my opinion! I also recommend to try the banana pudding if you have any space left for desert Note it is located at a random location which may be off putting at first, however, don't let this stop you from going inside. The restaurant itself is very nice and has indoor/ outdoor seating options. read more
Gigantic place in Allapatah, right across the metrorail tracks, in an old warehouse complex along produce distributors. Ample indoor and outdoor seating, full bar and simple yet modern decor. You order at the counter, get a number banner, and your food is brought to your table on metal trays. Paper plates but real silverware. Tried the brisket, thick and perfectly smoked melt in your mouth goodness. You only get one type of barbecue sauce, which is very tasty. Also ordered the lamb belly bahn mi. The meat was delicious, but the pickled carrot and daikon, which should be the star of the dish was very forgettable. The bread is also not the right one for bahn mi, and comes slathered with a lot of butter. In summary, great meat but very poor execution. The slaw is simple. I hope it was not that simple. Great addition to the neighborhood, very unique barbecue place in South Florida. read more

Easily the best bbq in Miami. The brisket is tender and juicy. More of a jewish deli seasoning than Texas rub, and fattier cuts. It wasn't the best protein offered. Jerk sauce on the slab of bacon was dynamite! Best thing I had. The dry rub on the wings was amazing. Wish there was more chopped cilantro, because it worked so well with the sauce and lime. That jalapeño cheese sausage was spectacular. So much cheese oozing out and the crunch from the jalapeño made for a fantastic bite. The Mac was okay, very juicy, and standard. Wish there were burnt edges. Is it the best bbq? No, that title still reigns with Lewis BBQ in Charleston, South Carolina. Love the space, counter ordering and food brought to you. Odd that you have to go to the bar for all the drinks. Two checks, two lines. Doesn't work. I'm glad they are here in Miami, but they should have left the Brooklyn prices up north. Wow this place is a cool bbq joint! And we just came down from Memphis, Alabama and Texas! The brisket and pulled pork were both delicious as sandwiches and tacos, watch out for the red pepper slices as garnish unless you like it hot! The mac and queso cheese was yummy too. This is honestly the best BBQ joint I've found in Miami. Leaving the medical district after a long appointment with my mom who was unable to eat before the procedure, she wanted to get some food fast. It was also rush hour, so going anywhere far wasn't a good option. Wasn't expecting to find anything too great in the area, but I always open Yelp to check what's nearby and I saw this place with a great rating. As the GPS was leading me closer, I thought there was some kind of error because it didn't feel like there would be a restaurant where it was. But sure enough there was this cool, industrial type space with a neon sign. It was a nice cool night, a rarity in Miami, so we opted to sit outside--it's all an open-air style place anyway. We got a 1/2 lb of slow-cooked brisket that was the most tender and delicious brisket I've ever had. We also got a dozen of their smoked wings. The mole dusting was a just a tad bit too much, but they were still amazing. We also got a side of Mac and cheese--delicious and creamy. And 'Broccoli on the plancha' which was a charred with a poblano Crema. It was good, but quite pricey at 9 for a few pieces of broccoli. Overall it's definitely on the pricier side, and I'd probably just stick to the meats next time. But definitely a delicious dining experience. read more
pretty solid, good for delivery and in person. coleslaw was a good slaw, good balance of slaw to mayo, not too vinegary, just right. the goldilocks of slaws if you may. the brisket and beef rib is a must order. the watermelon salad is surprisingly great and refreshing, nice way to balance out the meal when you're ordering a bunch of items. music they played was also pretty great - old alternative, a nice change from the typical Miami nonsense read more
