Delicious food and great service! We love this place but wish they did live bands or open mic nights, some more fun activities since we live closeby but somehow it's usually packed. I love being able to try their different sauces, their spicy one is my personal favorite. I usually get their pulled pork sandwich but they have so many delicious options to choose from. Try to save room for dessert because you're going to want to try their banana pudding!
My coworkers and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! What a hidden gem and right next to where we work! Our service was phenomenal. We really appreciated all of our servers recommendations. Everything that we had was delicious! The ambience was perfect. It was a great space to hang out and Have some delicious dinner and drinks after work! The brisket sandwich was amazing. They cook their meat to perfection. The Frito pie was so gooey and hit the spot! The loaded tater tots were also great, I highly recommend them. The mac & cheese was probably our favorite so if you could only pick one side, I think that would be the right choice. The wings were also very good, but in comparison to everything else, I think we would pass on them next time. The mango daiquiri was amazing and so were other drinks. I wouldn't have known that this place existed if it were not for my coworker. I'm very much looking forward to coming again!
I went to hometown barbecue for lunch as I heard that they run out of the popular items if you go later in the day. Unfortunately ordering food at the desk is quite slow. There's only one person working the tablet and they struggled to keep the line moving even though it was quite long. Seating is free for all so we got a table after ordering and waited for our food. My group wanted to try as many things as possible so we ordered the brisket, char siu pork ribs, rib tips, and the sausage to eat at the restaurant. The best item by far was the brisket. It was super tender and melted in my mouth even the lean. I thought the flavor on the rib tips and the pork ribs were similar. Unfortunately, the rib tips were cold and tough which was super disappointing since everything else was hot. The sausage was solid but nothing memorable. For the price, I was expecting all of the food to be juicier, warmer, and more tender.
Delicious BBQ with a twist! A little American some Asian and some Latin flavors all combined makes for a unique and so flavorful BBQ experience. The location is definitely out of the ordinary, but the rustic unrefined look of this warehouse bay -just works. The food is the star of the show here and it definitely does not disappoint! The BBQ lovers will love the selections of meats they have to offer. We ordered a little bit of everything - perfect way to try it all out. The portions are good and definitely shareable-except for the frito pie it's so good I don't think you want to share it after the first bite.
Omg... this place is such a hidden gem! Total hole-in-the-wall vibes, but amazing! The service was great, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance felt like hanging out in your own backyard--with a bar! Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. The brisket queso dip you could see and taste the brisket pieces and the smoke on the turkey was just perfect, can't wait to go back!
So lucky we found this place after a museum. It has a very cool vibe in a warehouse district, very industrial looking dining room, open, good tunes playing. Service isn't perfect as you order from the counter, then wait for your food, but that just gives it more takeout versatility. Beef ribs were excellent, the potato salad was delicious, I liked the unique texture they went with. The cornbread was top tier and the Mac and cheese was mid. But Overall, a wonderful place.
Three stars for a spot that gives the vibes but didn't really do much in terms of the food department. I checked out the spot for a late lunch on Sunday. The place was not really busy but the traffic was steady. I ordered the Frito pie and the Asian sticky ribs. This was my first time ordering the Frito pie. It wasn't bad but definitely not a standout. What was a standout was the pickled onions they topped the pie with. Some of the best onions I have ever had, I would put them on everything! The ribs were cooked ok, they had a very candied taste to the sauce but I still didn't care for the sauce on the ribs; it just didn't work well. Another person in my party had the chicken and they said it was dry. I tried a piece, it was ok and they were right. Both of the people in my party had the mac and cheese and they loved. It was a creamy, stovetop mac and cheese (not baked), which is not ideal for me. The restaurant is located in an industrial area and it definitely fits the area. It was a wide open warehouse space with park bench seating. The music selection was nice and added to the vibe. The service was very fast. I probably would not come back for the food. But if you want a spot that gives good vibes that are not contrary to the typical Miami vibe, you might like this spot.
The broccoli wasn't seasoned (I was given salt in a sauce cup it myself)! The smokey beans had an overpowering vinegar taste..YUCK! The rib tips had cashew nut dust particles on it. The pineapple refresher wasn't refreshing at all! It was tart and bitter! The service provided by Andre was terrible. There was a black girl employee sitting off to the side by the smoker eating and licking her fingers. She went right back to the food prep area and proceeded to get back to work. When it was noticed that we left with 80% of the food on the table, no one asked what they could do to make the food and service better. I had to make a reservation and when I arrived I was the only customer in the building! The ribs (very tender), I received 4 ribs that I was charged $38 for! I would sprint, and run from this restaurant! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Pictures are shown with this review! By far thee worst $120+ food experience!
Trash like omggg insulting. Besides the amazing staff the food is garbage and is served cold had to return it. It tasted like leftover from days ago they reheated and I was so disappointed after seeing the smokers out back. Ridiculously expensive for what you get honestly and would not go back or recommend.
Create for catering for large group, also very spacious for if you want to eat bbq with a large group. I have loved everything from the menu, the brisket the ribs the pulled pork the Mac and cheese and the corn bread are all a must. Service is fast! One of the best in Miami in my opinion.
Was leaving Miami today and wanted to grab some BBQ so I decided to try this place based off of reviews. Easy to find but not a lot of parking. I ended up having to park around the block and pay for street parking. The place is in an old industrial building. They have redid it find. but kinda weird. Staff was friendly. Food was served fast. The menu is somrwhat limited I feel. I got some pulled pork, a sausage, and the elote. but every ala carte. I wish they had a combo where you could try multiple meats and sides. I did not care for the chipolte creama on the corn. The pulled pork was fresh, good flavor. They had two Sauces on they table, one hot and one regular. Both were fine. The sausage was by far the best thing that I had. Very delicious. All in all, expensive for what is was in my opinion. Hard to recommend it or not, because I haven't been to any other BBQ in the area. Maybe I just didn't get their best stuff.
I don't know why BBQ isn't that popular in Southern Miami! Maybe it's because of a heat? Well, I just love BBQ! Smokey, charred, wood, low and slow! I had Brisket! It's sure was delicious! It's reminiscent of Texas (hometown bbq). Raise up about 4 feet high. Amazing outdoor picnic area with gravel, shrubs. When you look inside, you'll see a vast dinning hall, super clean, neat, and superb order in! The salad was divine! And the cornbread was amazingly tasty! INCREDIBLE BBQ! So scrumptious and so absolutely addictive it's impossible to stop once you get going! Sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Miami sunshine outside the back of the restaurant. The biggest surprises that were culinary standouts were the Oaxacan Chicken and Charsiu Baby Back Ribs...food was so good we wanted to include the chef in the will! Also not to be glossed over by any means, the brisket had a wonderful bark, a fantastic portion and a perfect cook. We loved the Pulled Pork and the Frito pie was a hitter and made me reconsider the meaning of life. Let's not forget about the sides: the Smoked Pit Beans with the Smoked Pork were succulent and the Hometown slaw had a nice spin on it by not being so mayo centric. If I lived in Miami, I'd happily give them all my money on a regular basis so wander down and see what I'm talking bout' if you don't know already.
Thank you BABY JESUS FOR THIS MEAL HERE! Holy sh*t it was banging. Worth the money and worth the calories. I swear every part of it was truly an experience in itself. The cornbread is Top 2 and Not 2. The ribs are super meaty and filling and the smoked wings with the cilantro dipping sauce added that extra protein kick. But the real star of the show was the Mac and Cheese. I could live off of it for the rest of my life, I kid you not. Cole slaw was 10/10 too. Look to be honest, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was amazing and our bartender had great conversation. Thankfully we came on a Monday because from what we heard, weekends get so packed the line wraps around the door. read more
Yeah this was good. Got the pork ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and the BRISKET QUESO. That queso was ittttt. Also got the guava cocktail which was good - spicy and not too sweet. The sandwich was lacking in meat quantity but it was good. There's better ribs out there. But the quesssooooo was fire. Staff is nice. High ceilings and chill vibes. read more

Help me! I thought I was hooked on the brisket with a little bit of fat, my cousin called from Houston (she was here last week and had lunch with a friend) and she could not stop talking about #Hometowns pulled pork taco! I was headed home and made a detour since I was really hungry; let me tell you that is the best damn flour tortilla I have ever had! Pulled pork, stuffed with their salsa verde and I always have to have extra onion, wasn't thinking pickled but they were and delish! The sauce was an AvoMayo (yes, their own avocado Mayo), topped with Fresno peppers and cilantro. I never heard of Fresno peppers they were yummy and just added the right amount of heat, but definitely not for the faint at heart. I haven't posted my #ScrumpterouReport in quite sometime and I have a lot of catching up to do but today was soooo damn good, I had to stop and write while sitting here. I know what you all are going to say. So because I am from Texas I am going be critical about the Brisket? Uh Yea I mean I am not from New Jersey. Lol Anyways brisket in Miami trust me when I tell you I was shocked! I would say the brisket was just a little dried to the taste which just makes it a little critical for me. Good plain taste but for the area it will do. I loved the beans and smoke pit wings they served Shiner Bock which I like. If they would of had Big Red then this place would of been awesome. Love the inside of the restaurant nice big open place with a bar. The service does well at serving you no complains there. As for the price they should throw in the banana pudding for free. That is all. Chief Always have a back plan or train yourself to love last minute chaos. read more

Decent barbecue but at a very high price for the quality we received, (nowadays everything is super expensive so it's expected). We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, mac & cheese, beans, cornbread, and rib tips. Out of everything we ordered I was only really a fan of the brisket and the rib tips. Everything else seemed like it was lacking something - not sure what. Beans needed extra seasoning, pulled pork needed seasoning and more crispiness (too wet), mac and cheese needed more cheese and to be cooked a touch longer. It was a good try and I'm not saying the food was horrible by any means but some adjustments definitely need to be made. The brisket though was phenomenal - it didn't even need BBQ sauce. The rib tips were also amazing, highly recommend getting these if you stop by. Ambience was amazing, I love the decorations. Full bar and many cocktail options in a rustic feeling environment. Staff was very friendly and helpful. That being said, I'll give it another chance soon to try out other items from the menu and update the review as I go. read more

In a remote location amongst warehouses, lives this barbecue joint jewel. They have spacious indoor seating as well as outdoor seating and a full liquor bar. Service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing!! We went on a rainy Saturday afternoon and just as we were leaving the downpour got worse. So we went back inside, sat at the bar and had another drink at which point, the bartender gave us a complementary taste shot of tequila, it was great! For food we had: the Korean rib tips, homemade coleslaw, cornbread, the brisket taco, and the pulled pork taco. Everything was amazing and there was food left over to go home. Recommend this place 100%. read more
Amazing BBQ place - winner in all categories! I have been meaning to go there ever since I saw David Grumman's post on instagram. It seemed much farther from Brickell. It's only 10 mins drive, super close and located in a real industrial park (don't be confused if your GPS takes you to a strange location). The food is to die for: we ordered brisket, slaw, cornbread and broccoli. I think we over-ordered for 2 people as it was plenty of food and I had to take a to-go box. In retrospect - broccoli was not needed. Meet plus 2 small sides would have been plenty. No regrets - delicious meal and outstanding service. read more

My favorite bbq! Quick service, and great ambiance. The mac n cheese has a unique flavor that makes it the best in town. You need to get the mac n cheese, pulled pork, and the off-menu tater tots and eat it all like i have pictured! And then either get a piece of cornbread or the banana pudding for dessert. read more
Ubereats delivered another wonderful meal!!! We wanted BBQ for a holiday feast and decided to order. I'm so glad we did because everything was delicious. We ordered 1lb of pork spare ribs (4 pieces) which was perfectly cooked with a dry rub on the outside that gave a nice crisp texture and flavor. They also provide BBQ sauce on the side but you really don't need it. We also had the wood fire grill Oaxacan chicken which basically 1/2 chicken seasoned and moist. You can taste the seasoning in the breast and it is so juicy. This also comes with additional BBQ sauce and onions. We then had some sides the small Mac n cheese with small potato salad (think pint size) both were hit. Then there was an order of the pulled pork sandwich that had coleslaw and fried onions. Also cornbread that usually comes with one piece but I ordered two because it so good and sweet. Then last but not least the yucca bowl that is loaded with peppers, onions, coleslaw and cilantro. You can order the yucca without the toppings. Overall the order was great and food was full of flavor and hit the spot for our BBQ craving. read more
Depending on the type of person you are, you will think the decor and location of this place is either cool or strange. This bar and restaurant is located in a Miami warehouse district amongst avocado and produce merchants. We found parking out front, off to the right, on a one way street. As you walk into the place you are presented with a field of tables and a bar off to the right. To the left, is where the big menu board is and the ordering window. We ordered two Tank Playita draft beers, 6 wings, 1/2 pound of pork ribs, and 1/2 pound of brisket. We found a table and sat with the provided number stand. Our Tank Playita beer came out right away; it was a bit too citrusy for me. Shortly thereafter the wings arrived, nicely smoked, but far too much seasoning on them making them taste too salty. The ribs then came out to the table, but you only get two pieces in a 1/2 pound. They were dry and not fall off the bone; we had to bite in pretty hard to get the meat off. The taste of the ribs was plain, not that Smokey, so we had to use their house BBQ sauce that was at the table. The 1/2 pound of brisket was just 3 limp pieces of meat, and comprised of one-third fat; just shocking. The taste was mostly greasy fat and totally unacceptable. Paying $63 (before tip) for these small portions of terrible BBQ food was a total ripoff. Needless to say, we weren't impressed with this oddly located place with premium pricing and poor quality BBQ food. Such a disappointment! read more

This is an extremely casual place with a lot of space and great music. The atmosphere is welcoming and the crowd is mixed including families and young people hanging out. You order and pay in the front then you get a number and sit wherever you like. We didn't have to wait more 5 minutes to get our order. It is served on individual metal trays. We only ordered two items today which is why I HAVE to return soon. The food was delicious!!!! Delicious! I will most definitely go back. I ordered the Korean Rib Tips- they were SPECTACULAR. My husband ordered the Brisket Sandwich- he loved it. read more

So a co-worker told me to try this place out if I wanted some good bbq. It did not let me down. We sat ourselves. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating but it's in between some warehouses. If you blink you can pass it. The guy who took my order was nice. I got 6 smoked wings, a brisket burger, Rib tips and macaroni and cheese! The meal was good but not bbq I hadn't tasted before. The thing that stole the show was the Mac and cheese. That in it self brought the five stars. The rib tips were good also but this Mac is different! If you go to hometown and don't have the Mac and cheese you've cheated yourself. I also had an old fashion, it was made well. Bravo, Hometown BBQ. read more
Hometown is our favorite! We have never actually been in person, but my husband and I have been ordering through ubereats for the past 3 years. It's one of our go tos! However the last few times we ordered we have had a few issues with food quality. We always get the queso Mac n cheese and the brisket sandwiches with no Fresno chilies and extra bbq sauce on side. Unfortunately last month the sandwiches were primarily burnt ends that were extremely spicy. Now tonight we ordered again and the Mac n cheese was really rancid. Some of the noodles were brown, they were hard and the panko crumbs on top were so stale. We ended up having to get a refund through Uber for both $11 large Mac n cheeses because they truly were inedible. It was our favorite weekend splurge meal and no other bbq place compared. I'm so sad to say hometown is not the same as it used to be and It's not consistent. read more
My experience was great. I got the watermelon salad which was delicious and refreshing and the broccoli. I want too hungry and both were delicious. The yuca was great and so was the slaw. The beans were pretty good and the corn bread was amazing. The pork was good but the pork sandwich was a little dry. The taco was good and the brisket was okay. The service was great and the food came out fast! The ambiance is relaxed and it was a beautiful day so it made it even better. read more

Laid back, authentic vibe bbq place. Then meat quality was exceptional. The sides were underwhelming to average. Overhyped broccoli. Average beans. Good cornbread, even though that's been historically hit or miss for me. The short rib tips and Turkey blt really shined though. You pay at the counter and self seat. Some people did come by to help clean up and present you with your tray. It's casual. The bbq sauce on the table was great. read more
Great spot for some BBQ in miami! Some of my favorites were the Beef Rib which I prefer to the brisket. It had so much flavor and was so soft and juicy. The max and cheese was so delicious and creamy. Now the corn bread was probably the best corn bread I have had!!!! Hometown BBQ has a sit down with waiter experience for dinner and it was such a nice vibe for a date night. Service was great and we though the wine selection and cocktails were also so yummy too! read more
I absolutely love it here! I just left Superblue with my boyfriend and we decided to stop here Sunday afternoon. It was crowded but the line went by pretty quick and our food delivered to table quickly as well. We ordered drinks and had a blast! I definitely recommend! They play World Cup games and play good music! read more
When BBQ comes to mind, this restaurant located in Allapattah has the best brisket in town. The staff working and attending customers were courteous. The restaurant has a very unique atmosphere. Masks are mandatory and there is sanitizer in every single table. Upon to our arrival we found the menu and designated ordering area. We ordered the 1/2 brisket and also the following sides: Mac & cheese (L), beans (S) and Cornbread with Honey Butter and the banana pudding ($6). The smoked meat was juicy and tender and perfectly seasoned with bbq sauce served on the side. Really enjoyed the flavor of the Mac & cheese and the corn bread. I didn't really fall for the beans because they were a little hard but the flavor was good. Five starts were stolen by the pudding, it was incredibly delicious with a nice texture and a sweet and creamy flavor. Cons: Limited parking and price. It was a little pricey and the side orders served are small ($6), large sides ($10). Most of the smoked meats including the brisket were priced at ($16). Pros. Unique flavor, great atmosphere and great customer service. read more

This is my second review and while all the tasty positives i mentioned still hold true, i'm doubling down on the fact that it's WAY OVERPRICED. I mean 1/2 pound of meat, just meat, is $15 i just spent 85 dollars and i'm still hungry. and to top it off you get ONE RAMEKIN OF BBQ - which is absurd. The pick up counter lady gave me a hard time about asking for more. She gave me a big sigh and a heavy eye roll... Did she not see the bill??? Also what happened to the untensils??? Here's what i got: 2 32oz growlers 2 pieces of corn bread - missing the honey butter 1 Brisket sandwich in a tiny ittty bitty box 0.5 pound of pulled pork mac & cheese - was supposed to be large? but it's basically the size of two ramekins if this place charged 80 percent, they would get my money ALL THE TIME. I had been wanting to try this spot because i heard so many good things and i didn't disappoint. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the Mac and cheese. I would definitely go back for that. The Mac and cheese was okay wasn't what i expected. But i really liked the smoke wings also. They had other items on the menu i wanted to try so i will have to make another trip but overall it's worth the money. read more
I was not expecting an Asian twist with ribs. They are good in their own way. The watermelon salad was phenomenal. The max and cheese was traditional and delicious. I could eat a gallon of the stuff. The ribs were good! I was looking more towards moist, fall off the bone, saucy ribs. These were although moist, a little drier than traditional ribs. read more
