I like the coffee. Overpriced but I like the taste. Customer service has never been great but today's level of hipster angst was at an all new high. The guy in front of me couldn't make up his mind so the cashier told him she was going to place his order on hold so she could wait on the next customer. I had just arrived so I didn't see the need to rush him. He finished his order and I'm guessing he didn't tip her for her lovely attitude so she rolled her eyes in disgust. Then she snapped at the customers sitting at the counter they needed to pick up their drinks. I guess the walk was too much for her and the 6 others standing behind the counter. I asked if they could make a pumpkin spice latte and she actually sneered in disgust and laughed. Get over yourself Honest Coffee. You make something called a Roosevelt with cinnamon and honey. That's as hipster as you can get so don't think you're above a pumpkin spice. You're right there with all the other yoga pant wearing, pumpkin spice drinking, stay at home moms. The only thing that makes you different is your absolute disregard for customer service. If I got my customers to pay $20 for less than a lb of coffee and spend another $15 on drinks, I'd have rainbows and unicorns flowing out of my mouth. read more

Best coffee in town, the staff is very knowledgable as they both roast and brew. I would suggest one of the "cupping events" for the serious coffee aficionado. The roasting is done in small enough batches to manage quality while providing consistent flavor. The location in the factory is great paying homage to Honest Abe's penny with the copper counters and a writing table that mirrors one of Abe's passions. This is a nice coffee shop inside of The Factory in Franklin. There's plenty of seating and I saw many people in there on their laptop and working. So it seems like a good place to plug up and get things done. I'm rating them 4 out of 5 stars because their menu is very small and it looks like they cater to the die hard expresso *cough* snobs. There's a lack of flavors (white chocolate, hazelnut, etc.) Look people, there are people out here who enjoy being caffeinated just as much as everyone else, but prefer our lattes a bit sweeter and don't feel like being judged when asking for flavors, lol! But they are able to keep me as a returning customer because they made me a Cuban Latte (expresso, Cuban coffee, steamed milk and sweetened condensed milk) that was just a dream. It was nice and creamy and the sweetness was just right. Not too sweet, but just enough, and I could still taste and smell the sweet aroma of my expresso. I highly recommend! The new location in Berry Farms is such a downgrade from Coffee and Coconuts. That used to be my favorite spot, then Honest coffee came in and changed it for the worst. I found hair in my sandwich and asked if they could remake it and the manager said it's not their responsibility because they can't prove it was their employee's hair (even though it was smooshed in the middle of the sandwich). Bad experience. Of the several employees working behind the counter, the one not wearing a mask was the person coming in contact with the most people. The bearded guy had a bandanna type mask around his neck, and not anywhere on his face. It didn't seem that he cared at all, or would take a recommendation to wear a mask. We had to wait over 15-minutes for a simple cafe mocha. It was really uncomfortable waiting with no social distancing, and the the bearded employee not making any attempt to follow the Williamson County October 22, 2020, mask mandate. This is due to rising COVID-19 cases. It was a busy Saturday, and people were too close together as there was no way to social distance while waiting for an order. Honest Coffee Roasters clearly does not have a plan or adhere to a simple health requirement. read more

After traveling the country for a week sampling coffees from Colorado to Chicago and Nashville, I arrive, a weary traveler, to Honest Coffee Roasters. As we begin our journey home, I insist we make one more stop as many of the previous shops fell short of expectations. Maybe it was the fact that it was our last stop, maybe it was the fact that I needed caffeine so badly, anything would have been great. Or maybe it's the fact that Honest Coffee Roasters truly delivered the best shot of espresso I've ever tasted. A natural processed Ethiopian coffee, the espresso surpassed expectations. With a perfectly medium body and creamy mouthfeel, flavors of blueberry and cream tingled my tastebuds (I legitimately teared up because of it). For some reason the tasting notes of most coffees baffle me, but here at Honest, they were spot on and exciting! I took home a bag of their Las Marias for my own personal morning routine and my goodness, what an excellent coffee. I could go on and on about my experience and my only regret is that I wasn't able to buy their Ethiopian coffee that transported me to another level of coffee appreciation. You see plenty of tinkering millennials enjoying a mediocre cup of overpriced drip, falling for the sneaky move of turning the POS towards the customer to "complete" the transaction, aka the very undeserved tip line. You see, tips are earned not included, but millennial hipsters don't know that. Lastly, where's the health code violation notice? Dairy sitting out for undisclosed periods of time in a not so sanitary and yet artsy fartsy container. Disappointed. I really like frothy monkey though, great cup of coffee sans hipster vibe. One of my favorite coffee shops in the Nashville area! Always genuine, friendly baristas who care about their customers more than just taking/making their order. The small batch roasted beans are on point! Great flavor profiles. Always happy with the bag of beans I buy. Their latte with the homemade almond-coconut milk is delicious. Well, short and not so sweetly I will say this coffee shop was extremely disappointing. I ordered a Coffee Cherry Tea and a Chai. The cherry tea is the only reason I gave it a star. It wasn't too bad - pleasant for the first couple sips very leafy the more you drunk. On the other hand, the Chai can only be compared to swamp water. It came in a very small cup so I was expecting it to be quite strong - and strong it was. The stench was of stagnant water and when I took a sip the drink left a nasty burnt taste at the back of your throat. As for the staff the girl working the counter was extremely quiet and cold and when I asked about the drinks she hardly answered my questions. The atmosphere was very snobby and the prices were astronomical for the small drinks. read more

Just moved from Colorado, this is quite easily the best coffee I've found in Franklin so far. Nice mix of high and low tables, music not too loud etc. It's a proper coffee shop. I'd suggest if you want super fast service or super-gulp sizes go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. Please keep up the great roasting and coffee quality. read more

I simply asked for a half-caff latte. They said they only pull double shots of espresso. So I said ok what about pouring half of it out because I always get lattes with one shot of espresso. Yummy coffee! Excellent coffee house feel. Located in The Factory so even if it's packed then can find seating in The Factory's atrium. Bring some patience, it seems to take a while to get the fancy drinks. We have only ordered their regular drip coffee... which btw you can watch them roast the beans right there in the store while waiting on ur fancy drink. The Factory is a bit of a Franklin tourist trap, but us locals like it as well. Also The Factory is VERY family friendly... so grab a coffee from Honest and then a sweet treat for the kiddos at one of the many other options. read more

Having spent 8 years living in Seattle, the self-proclaimed coffee capital of the world, I was pretty sure I had tasted great coffee. I was wrong and didn't know what I was missing until I stopped in to Honest Coffee Roasters. In town for business and on the hunt for a decent (read not Starbucks) cup of coffee. One of my fellow travelers found HCR and we decided to meet up there the next morning. Charming space in an old factory that was clean, bright, and welcoming. Ordered a cold brew coffee and it was absolutely smooth and delicious. Usually one cup is enough but enjoyed the first one so much ordered an Americano to go. Excellent decision! Other person with me ordered the cubano and was thrilled. He ordered a drip to go and agreed this place had it going on. Went out of our way to come back the following day to get as much as we could before leaving town. Only downside is I now have to compare coffee in my travels to this one and am afraid the others will be lacking. Want an amazing cup? Go there now! read more
