It's not crowded, the ventilation system is better, the quality of the food seems to be better. My only complaint is that you have to pay for extra rice. A whole order of Kalbi only comes with one small individual bowl of rice. If I remember correctly, it's $2-$3 more per extra bowl of rice, which I think is ridiculous. One of the worst Korean BBQ restaurants I have EVER went to. I love eating Korean BBQ but this has to be one of the worst experiences ever. Walked in with my family at 2:00 and was sat down immediately which is a good thing, however the server didn't greet or speak to us at all and probably only said "table for how many." The price of food here is extremely expensive for its quality and especially its quantity. We ordered Kalibi beef, tofu soup, and beef rib. The kalibi beef was over seasoned and the portion was tiny for $27. Tofu soup was on the opposite side, extremely bland, however the soup did taste good just under-seasoned. The beef rib portion was tiny and extremely under-seasoned for $28, however it was supposed to be under seasoned because they are supposed to give you sauce, which they completely forgot to give us. The sides they give you are mediocre compared to other Korean bbq places in Houston, absolutely no variety and very little sides like you're being rationed. About the service, the waiters/waitresses are supposed to cook your meat, however they just didn't feel like cooking, especially our server. A waiter came to help cook our food a total of one time, we had to cook our own food and basically serve ourselves. If you are willing to spend a hefty amount of money at this place, I would recommend you turn around and leave and go to another places such as Bori (most expensive but most tasty), Handam BBQ (cheaper but much better service and good quality). read more

We always love Honey Pig on Bellaire and decided to try their new location tonight. The meats were good but the servers cooked our 2nd meat in another empty table which was very strange. The streamed egg was always our favorite but the streamed egg we had was mixed with the chipped black paint/finishing from the stone bowl. When we complained to the server she said it was just burnt. The "burnt" pieces was hard like egg shells. The worst part was when the servers were cooking our 2nd meat in another empty table, a sever walked up eating on a bag of chips while talking our servers. They cook your BBQ for you so it was almost like hibachi style but better. You get multiple servers. Yeon Jung and Kai were absolutely amazing and helped make the experience great. Against the odds of having several rude people come and bicker with the staff, they were very kind to us as we asked questions about what to expect during our meal. I been at this location in Katy for about 10 plus times. Every single time I have great food and service in that order. The food is what brings me back every time. Today I came to Honey Pig to celebrate Father's Day with my family. I walked in the restaurant at 9:23pm and I was told I had to order quick due to the kitchen closing. I was ok with that since we knew what we were going to order. I sat down, we order drinks, and placed our food order. We ordered 2 orders of Beed Brisket and 2 Soy Bean soups. They brought the water, salads, rice and other small item in that order. Then, another server brought the Beef Brisket. I notice the meat look a bit off, color wise. I made a comment to my wife if that's the meat that we usually order and she was confused about my question, but I was doing it so the server could hear me as well and notice the meat look off. Anyways, the server proceeded to hastily cook the meat and came back about 3 mins late and told us the meat was medium well and it was good to go. We started eating the brisket and notice it was extremely chewy...I have never had beef brisket that chewy before and I ate the same item multiple times. I almost choke twice attempting to eat the meat. Then the server brought the check and told us we had to pay. We had most of our food. We stopped eating and we barely ate like 10 pieces of brisket. My wife told the server our meat was extremely chewy and the server reply " next time just let me know and I will get you 10% off". I'm so disappointed at Honey Pig that I'm not sure if I will be back. No manager approached us to try to solve the issue or explain why the meat was so chewy. We packed the left overs and paid 77 dollars. I told my wife I'm not certain I will be coming back. It only takes 1 time to ruin a good reputation.
