I'm a big fan of the salad, but not the noodles at all. I get the appeal of the noodle options, so I'm not docking any stars for it and I'll explain why I don't enjoy it. I came here for the first time last week and shared the white bean tuna salad and the sesame garlic wheat noodles stir-fry with my boyfriend. The white bean tuna salad consists of red wine dijon vinaigrette, romaine, organic arugula, yellow fin tuna, hard-boiled egg, herbed white beans, grape tomatoes, pickled peppers and red onions. During the self-order process, I also added cashews as a garnish for free and herbed focaccia on the side. The dressing tied the salad together really well and the ingredients were a great mix. The salad was refreshing, filling and had the perfect acidity level. The whole wheat stir-fry noodles, on the other hand, was simply made with beef, mushrooms, broccoli, scallions and sesame seeds. Two big problems: (1) sauce to noodle ratio was essentially 1:1 aka DROWNING in this delicious-but-overkill-in-that-volume sauce, and (2) overcooked beef aka t o u g h to eat. The noodles honestly felt more like a college kid's meal cooked in the dorm. A very American Chinese flavor and styled dish. Both dishes were about $12 pre-tip and tax. The big surprise at Honeygrow is the Maine Root fountain soda! I used to go all the way to Maine to hunt down some tiny boutique shops to find the Blueberry Maine Root Soda. But here it is, on tap basically. I would say the flavor seems to taste better straight from the glass bottle, but this will do! Looking for something healthy nearby so this pop up on my navigation . Walked in and ordered through the automated screen monitor . Self service and you don't have to deal with a cashier that will take your order. I ordered the white bean tuna salad and it came out like two minutes later. The bowl looks pretty decent full of green, I added extra Siracha and soy sauce on top to give it a little kick to it. Salad was decent and fulfilling. Love their CYO Stir Fry! (CYO=create-your-own). This is guilt-free deliciousness--I got my veggies and the flavor was amazing. Truly the perfect crossroads. There's a list of options to choose from so you can personalize your stir fry to whatever combo suits you. I highly recommend this mix: roasted beef, freshly made whole wheat noodles, broccoli, curry kale, scallions, roasted garlic, parsley, toasted sesame seeds, and regular sesame garlic sauce. Got delivery from them last week and I got to say, I can't believe I haven't eaten here before!!!!!!!! We both got the stir fry and a side of bread. Absolutely delicious. Great serving size, perfectly cured my hunger, and it all tastes so fresh! The flavors were incredible. And they have la croix options, which personally I loved. I went fo Saturday lunch it was surprisingly not busy, which made it a nice space to sit and do work since all of the coffee shops were bursting. The interface is very tech forward--you order at a touch screen kiosk and they will text you when your order is finished. I decided to make my own salad. One thing to note about the salad is that all the vegetables are cold and uncooked. In hindsight I probably should have realized, but I was unprepared for the raw mushrooms that appeared in my salad. Furthermore, while they tout their homemade salad dressings, I was disappointed by them. Among my party, we tried three of them, but we luckily ordered them on the side because we didn't enjoy their tastes. The redeeming quality is that they have hoisin sauce, siracha, and soy sauce as add your own condiments by the drinks which served as a good substitute, unless your add-ins do not complement the Asian flavor profile. I have seen mixed reviews about them, but I actually really enjoyed the wheat noodles and would maybe like to try the stir fry next time. read more

This location is near Fenway park, so it is understandable that it would get this busy during game days; however, when I visited this location, the long wait time occurred on a non-game day. The food at Honeygrow is pretty good, but the wait for a fast casual place is just not reasonable. We waited for 20 minutes for two to-go stir-fries, which more like the wait time for food at a sit-down restaurant. I do like the iPad ordering, as others have mentioned, since it lets you really customize your meal without having to think about it. The space and seating is ample, so if you go there and plan to sit down, I think the experience would be pretty good. I work close-ish to here, but today I finally made the trip to try Honeygrow for the first time and it was exceptional. I got a shiso basil pesto bowl and removed all the veggies then added scallions, onions, along with chicken. I vacuumed that bowl in 10 mins. Everything was so delicious and I loved how hoisin sauce and temari are available as sides. The meat dipped in hoisin added a really nice punch of flavor. Great place to get tasty and quick noodles! You walk in, and the ambiance is clean, colorful but not over the top. A nice casual place to seat in and have lunch. You walk over to the kiosk and select what you want. If you're making your own stir fry bowl, you get to pick a protein (price varies per protein), a base, a sauce, three veggies, and two garnishes within the price of the bowl. You pay at the kiosk, get your order number and wait for them to call it out - usually 5-10 min. I think if you do takeout, it shows up on the cool billboard. The food is tasty and the sauces are delicious. My bowl usually is a veggie one with an egg (extra), we white noodles, mushrooms, bell peppers, edamame, roasted cashews and pickled cucumbers with the sesame garlic sauce. They also do seasonal bowls, which is a nice change if you want to try something new. Someone also stopped by during our lunch to see if everything was alright, and that's just great customer service unexpected at a fast, casual restaurant. Cons: 1. Since you select everything at the kiosk, you can't adjust the quantity. Say you want onions but just a little. Or you like mushrooms, so you would want more of it. 2. They're a little skimpy with the garnishes. I want more pickled cucumbers! 3. No steel forks even if you dine in. 4. I did enter my phone number but I'm not sure if I got any rewards for my order? 5. There's street parking but it can be tough on the weekends. 6. My biggest peeve was that the stir fry was cold for my liking, even though I ate in. Tried this per recommendation of a friend and super glad I did! Perfect place to customize your salad or stir-fry bowl. I created my own stir-fry bowl with egg noodles, shrimp, beef, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, sesame seeds, chili flakes, and garlic sauce on the side. Those chili flakes are no joke! I am a fan of spicy foods, but there was definitely a lot more chili flakes than I expected. I also tried their green juice, which was good and would love to try out their other juices too. I love that you get to order through the screen, so I can decide exactly what I want without stumbling through my order if I were to say it. The place is very clean and has nice staff. Honeygrow has a good location right across from Fenway on Boylston. The restaurant features automated order taking. The format is assembly line, Subway or Chipotle-style, noodles, stir fry or salads, which they do in the back. All the meals feature wholesome healthy ingredients. You can choose from their suggest bowl combos (stir fry with noodles or rice, or salad bowl), or you can choose to build your own bowl. They have a good variety of topping options to choose from. You pick your carbs, protein, veggies, toppings, and a sauce. Then you can pay with card right on the screen or pay with cash at the cash register. And then you just wait for your number to be called. I got whole wheat noodles with chicken, some veggies and spicy garlic sauce. I absolutely LOVE their noodles! I really want to give this spot 4 stars. They have a great concept - quick and affordable healthy food. Really good quality healthy ingredients. When they get the order right, it's tasty and great. I have ordered from them five times thIs year as they are very close to my office and unfortunately, 3/5 times the order came with missing items. Once was the drink (ok, not a huge deal), but the other two times the meals came without the main ingredient, the meat. The order literally is called CYO/create your own Chicken or Beef, where you then add ingredients to it. On two separate occasions, the order came without the actual chicken or beef. This last time I even ordered extra meat, yet it arrived with none. So, all I received was rice with a few vegetables on it. I mean even just looking at it you can tell the order is incomplete. It filled a quarter of the container and the rest was empty. It's super frustrating when the reason I am ordering is because I am super busy at work and this is my one chance to eat anything during the work day, and the food arrives with just rice and veggies. It sucks going the rest of your day hungry. Twice in a row. I guess I learned my lesson here. I want to love this place. I was one of the lucky first 100 customers to get a free meal on opening day. Honeygrow is the real deal and lived up to all of my expectations. Their menu is unique and filled with so many healthy and diverse options- it was so hard choosing what to order! I ended up making my own stir-fry with the whole wheat noodles as my base. I added on the sesame sauce and a bunch of veggies. Great portion sizes, filling, and delicious. I'd recommend adding a sauce so that your stir-fry isn't too dry! I also added on a green tea from their amazing lineup of fountain drinks. All of the options are brewed up in Maine and super unique (e.g blueberry soda!!). The touch screen tablets are brilliant and make the line move fast. The staff were all friendly, patient, and happily answered all questions. I really like how they took the time to explain Honeygrow's mission and history, and gave excellent recommendations. I will definitely be back to try out more options from their menu! read more

Everyone is very friendly. Maine Lobster - this is unique to Boston so I had to try it. It was good but I wasn't blown away. Spicy garlic - YES. THIS ONE. It's pretty unanimous among my coworkers that this is the best one. The sauce is very tasty. I thought it was a perfect level of spicy, but stay away if you're very sensitive to spicy. I made some minor modifications based on my own preferences, but you can figure that out for yourself! (I don't like bell peppers and had to add scallions, cashews, and cilantro) Honey bar - This was surprisingly delicious and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh. Came here for a casual dinner on a Saturday night. You order using a large, sleek touch screen. My husband was super wow-ed by the "cinematography of the ordering menu." The interface was so well-designed and user-friendly. Call me old-fashioned but I kind of missed the personal interaction that you get when you order with an actual person and being able to ask for recommendations. Honeygrow's current super-sized iPad screens are a fun substitute, but it definitely felt impersonal here as you can spend your entire visit without interacting with a single employee (even your orders result ready for pick up on an automated board!). My husband got the sour cherry BBQ pork and I got the sesame garlic beef dish. We were able to make a few substitutions from the ordering screen. The BBQ pork dish had a surprising kick -- so make sure you're able to tolerate some degree of spicy when ordering this. We love all types of pan-fried noodles and these dishes were no exception. All of the sauces were flavorful. The only disappointment was the quality and execution of the protein. Both the pork and beef were dry. The meat is easily the favorite part of any dish for my husband and he was super UN-excited for the bites of meat. The interior is clean with lots of stainless steel and an industrial feel, including high ceilings. Overall, a fun spot for a casual lunch and high tech touches. I gave honeygrow another try and the stir fry did turn out to be much better than the salads (see original review for my thoughts on the salads). I got a veggie stir fry with egg noodles, various veggies, added egg (which comes scrambled/casserole egg), and had it with the sesame garlic sauce. I returned another time and got a similar order, but my boyfriend tried a stir fry with a rice base instead of noodle and with beef added and said it was very good. They did forget to include our focaccia (the best part), which I didn't notice until later when we went to eat it as it was a to-go online order.
