Pretty close to the block in orange. The staff was nice, but wasnt as excited as I was about being a newbie lol.. I wasnt given suggestions.. There are a bunch of combos you can do and mix and match. They also have lattes, milkshakes and teas. I ended up with the soft serve with matcha and honey drizzle. They use real matcha powder and its the perfect compliment to the sweet and sticky honey. Another Honeymee and close to home at that. Willing to give them another chance, we ordered the sweetie and it was pretty bland. Not a fan of cheap vanilla soft serve, I don't think there is much that can spruce it up and some honey just was not enough. A small cup for I've $5 is steep, especially when it is not better than McDonald's soft serve which I would not even spend $1 on. Service was very nice, the space cute and the idea in general a good thing. I ordered the waffle with ice cream on top and I was trying to ask them if there's honey on they mistook my order and added a affogato to my bill. I tried the Sweetie which comes with a honey drizzle and the Honey Affogato which comes with both honey and coffee. Honestly, I just really liked the Sweetie. It was simple yet delicious. She offered me free tastings. Based on YELP reviews and her suggestion I ordered the Honey Mee and added honey drizzle. They only offer one size. Overall it was good, but not worth the almost $6.00. The ice cream was delicious, the honey good, and while I usually love honeycomb, I'd actually skip it next time. The inside is small with only one table and a couple of bar seats, so I'm glad it was empty. The only improvement I'd suggest is that they provide hand wipes. Honeymee is the perfect dessert after a heavy dinner. I always wondered what was so appealing about such a simple dessert-- plain soft serve with honey. But i understand now that I've finally had it. I got the Sweetie (soft serve with honey drizzle around the inside of the cup) and added a honeycomb as a topping just to try the texture. THE HONEYCOMB IS EXTREMELY SWEET. I would recommend getting one or the other- honey drizzle OR honeycomb if you're cautious about sweetness. I will say that it is somewhat difficult to eat the soft serve with the honey because the coldness of the soft serve will harden the honey a little bit. Unlike the Sweetie and the Honeymee, I found the matcha affogato to not be sickenly sweet (probably because the bitterness of the matcha tones down the sweetness of the honey). Get me some honey! This place is super expensive, it's $5 for a small cup of ice cream, drizzled with honey. In my eyes, you can DIY this with Ben and Jerry's and some of that sweet bear honey for half the price. But hey, this place is good. They only sell 40 honey combs a day due to weather. At 9PM, they gave us a honey comb, so it seems like a generous limitation. I got the matcha affogato. It was basically vanilla, honey, and matcha powder. The consistency of the ice cream is smooth and the burst of honey excited my sweet tooth. The matcha brought me back down, it was a bit bitter (there wasn't enough of it). I'd only tell you to get it if you're a true matcha believer. They offer free corn flakes with your order. You'd be a foolish fool to knowingly not take them up on this! The honey milk shake is hands down my favorite milk shake. There's no malt flavor but there's high quality milk and a silky smooth softness to the ice cream. It's a bit on the sweet side, but anyone that orders a milk shake shouldn't be expecting something half sweet. The honey ribbons add a sweet rich complexity and the drink wouldn't be complete without it. There's a froth texture to the drink that adds a bit to the lightness and texture. The last few sips usually end up being milk shape froth. I flew to SoCal for a Holliday visit and I had a choice between 7 leaves and honeyme and my brain did not hesitate to lead me here. Keep in mind I frequent getting boba at "T4" so that could have something to do with me getting the milkshake. Although I was drawn to give their Sweetie cup a try, I went for their green tea milkshake instead. For $4.50, It was pretty good. The green tea taste wasn't overwhelming. It was a little too sweet but not bad. It also had a good consistency, not too runny and not too thick. I did sample their Sweetie cup which contained soft serve and drizzled honey and I thought it was pretty good. For someone who isn't into this, I did enjoy it. The soft serve is made from supposedly true milk and honey is 100% natural. You can tell the quality of the honey I thought. Their cups and milkshakes are a good size for one individual and are all about $4.50 each. You can add additional toppings for 25 cents. Honestly, I thought everything was okay. I wouldn't say it was anything super special. Their menu was also basic. But I guess if you like basic then this is the place to be. The girls at the counter were really nice and they have a stamp card for you. The inside is of this place is TINY. I was annoyed that they had two tables and two bars but only literally 5 chairs. I asked for more and they said they didn't have anymore. So dumb. It's more of a pick up and go place which is more than irritating if you want to enjoy your treat that can easily melt with other people. FAVORITES: AFFOGATO & SWEETIE Pure milk ice cream soft serve and real honey (complete with the honey comb) has been rampant around Asia and SoCal and has finally made its way to Irvine. HONEYMEE ($4.25): True milk ice cream with a little drizzle of honey topped with a honey comb. The honey comb is super waxy and there is not enough honey throughout the soft serve! SWEETIE ($4.25): The honey is drizzled all throughout and is present in every single bite. I definitely preferred this over the honeymee! The liquid natural honey is a lot thicker than the honey you would buy in the grocery store but is a really great contrast in texture and consistency compared to the light and smooth soft serve. + AFFOGATO ($4.25): This was my absolute favorite! The soft serve is accompanied with honey and espresso. The honey taste here was not too strong, so I actually took a scoop from the Sweetie and dipped into the espresso of the affogato to get more of that honey taste. Everyone talks about the honey soft serves, but I think the affogato really wins here! The True Milk has a real taste of local milk from a certified Kosher dairy factory, which is probably why you see that this soft serve is more expensive than other soft serve places. I am slightly lactose intolerant and usually get upset stomach after eating ice cream, but surprisingly after eating three different kinds of soft serve in one sitting, I was completely fine! From the first time I heard of Honeymee I knew it was right up my alley! I've always loved vanilla soft serve (I never get chocolate) and I love honey! I've been wanting to try Honeymee for quite some time. Basically ever since I started seeing constant photo posts & check-ins on Yelp and Facebook. But until recently, there wasn't a location close by and I really hate driving into LA unless absolutely necessary. Finally they've started to expand the chain into south OC!!! This location is in the 99 Ranch plaza off Jeffrey and Walnut. And I just learned today from my sister that they now also have a 2nd location in Irvine, off Harvard and Main. The menu is small - there are only 7 items to choose from although among those items, you can add toppings for an additional charge. Since it was my first time, I decided to stick with something basic and chose the Honeymee which is simply true milk ice cream topped with a little honey and a honeycomb chip. I really loved munching on the honeycomb and the ice cream is quite good...creamy & milky. But I love honey and wish it had more of it, so next time I think I'll get the Sweetie which is similar to the Honeymee but has honey swirled into the soft serve. The trade off though is that it doesn't come with the honeycomb chip so I'll have to see if I can pay extra for that. Be forewarned that the cups are really small. But because honey can get rather rich if you eat too much, the petite size is actually perfect. The price is on the high side however at $4.25 for the Sweetie and $4.75 for the Honeymee. read more

I walked in here on a Tuesday night. This place was somewhat hard to find/hidden. It's located where a gas station is (76). I am so happy I don't have to go to Los Angeles for this anymore! Yay! I finally got to try honeymee! This one is super small and kind of tight. I went in at the same time with 9 other people so it was kind of squished. There are only a few things on the menu...smoothies and ice cream with different toppings. I went for the honeymee, which is ice cream with a piece of honey comb and honey drizzled on top and a little in the middle. It's a good size for the price. A lot of ice cream. The texture of the ice cream reminds me more of like yogurtland yogurt. It's not really creamy but it has a good flavor. I don't like the spoon that it comes with because when it starts melting, the spoon can't scoop up anything....it's like almost flat. Another thing is that there were a lot of add +.25 or +.50 for a special or something topping but I didn't see any list or sign that indicated what those toppings might be (or maybe I didn't notice it?). I've got one word for ya for this place: messy. I've seen this place all over my Instagram feed so I finally decided to stop by and grab some dessert after dinner. I was disappointed because the ice cream was a good level of sweet, but it tasted like soft serve I could've gotten at any other soft serve store. This place is unique because they use real honeycombs, but the honey drizzle was overbearingly sweet! I couldn't get over how sweet it was. The dessert itself was also messy! This location is pretty tiny, but all you have to do is grab your treat and enjoy it outside (standing) or in your car. The serving size is perfect for 1 person to enjoy as a sweet snack or dessert. Faves are the Sweetie and Affogato. The froyo is so good and creamy and the honey goes perfectly with it. The staff have always been very friendly and quick. I've even seen people order delivery and it seems like they package the items very well (wrapped in a bag with ice and into a freezer bag). Hive five! Woo hoo! They opened a honeymee in Irvine! Everything here is made with their standard signature yogurt, which flavored with a light honey aftertaste and is quite enjoyable on its own! Their standard serving comes in an absurdly tiny-looking cup topped with a generous rectangle-shaped serving of honeycomb, but is surprisingly filling for such a small portion. You have a choice between a Darling (no toppings), Sweetie (topped with a natural honey swirl), Dear (topped with chocolate sauce and sea salt sprinkles, or substitute caramel syrup), or a Honeymee (topped with a generous rectangle-shaped portion of honeycomb), and can add multi-grain granola for 50 cents. Just to be adventurous, I tried a Honeybee in a babee sweet bun (a bit lighter than Hawaiian bread). While it was an interesting experience, I think I'll stick to the standard cup or waffle cone in the future. Trying to juggle eating the babee gracefully without allowing the yogurt to slip out and get all over the place is beyond my abilities...apparently. The honeycomb itself is fresh and crispy, and feels absolutely healthy. I enjoyed taking small nibbles from the honeycomb as I finished the yogurt. The honeycomb isn't old and chewy like it can be in cheaper places that don't care about the quality of their honeycomb as much. All in all, I LOVE THIS YOGURT! Honeymee is easy to overlook if you're just passing through this plaza. It's located on the Ranch 99 side right next to the 76 gas station. Parking in this plaza sucks so plan ahead for that.
