Honeymee is such a unique concept for an ice cream shop! Fresh milk ice cream with local honey and honeycomb for a healthier indulgence. I've been here twice now and I really love the combination of milk and honey. I always order the milk ice cream on waffle cone with honey and honeycomb on top. The sweet honey balances out the plain milk ice cream to give it a nice texture that is slightly sweet. The honeycomb is such a treat! I love that it is sweet and crumbly, but not waxy like most of the honeycomb I eat. Also, ask them to swirl honey on the inside of the waffle cone if you want to sweeten up your ice cream! Only cons are the horrible parking since there are a couple of spots in front and by the 76 gas station and the hefty price for the ice cream. They do give you a stamp card if you plan on going on a regular basis. Overall, a cool concept and I will definitely be back to try their shakes and other combinations! read more

Really upset at this place. Placed my order and waited more than 15 minutes for ice cream. Why!? 1. Because there is only one guy working the entire shop. 2. When the clerk starts to work on the orders, a group of 8+ people walks in and he stops making the orders and begins to systematically take the orders back at the cash register. Meanwhile, the tiny front entry is jam packed with people. Owner should stop being cheap and hire more workers and train their employees better. Finish your outstanding tickets first before you go back and take more orders. If a 100 people walked him, are you supposed to stop what you're making and jump back to the register and take all 100 orders? read more

YESSS this place has awesome milk-based soft serve that is light and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the honey - I usually get it with the honeycomb as it's fun, but usually ends up being too sweet at the end. I like the brand and everything about it, I do NOT like this location. We typically go to the location on Main and Harvard and they have no problem splitting our milkshakes into two cups. I'm slightly lactose so I can't have a full one and my friend and I like to "split the calories" This location just told me, "we can give you an extra cup". I know that sounds really petty but I just don't understand why they can't split it for us. Otherwise, the product is good. The cookies and cream milkshake is perfectly creamy without being too sweet. The sea salt caramel is a bit too much caramel for my taste but who seriously complains about too much caramel? Strawberry is also really good. The ice cream with the honey is a tad too sweet for me so I usually order plain. The afogato is also a great option if you're looking for something to cut out the sweetness. Go to the one on Main/Harvard instead. I was so excited that Honeymee opened in Irvine! I've been wanting to go, but never really wanted to go too far out of my way to try it. We were able to find parking easily on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not too busy. Honeymee: Pretty good! Milk flavored with honeycomb. I would probably skip the honeycomb next time and get honey drizzle. Green Tea Milkshake: SO GOOD. Honeymee hits the spot when you want some indulgence but without all the guilt. The serving size is smaller than most ice cream/froyo places, but it really is the perfect amount. Essentially, the popular item here is the soft-serve with raw honey (either the honeymee with the honeycomb, or the Sweetie, with honey drizzle). I'm not sure how to describe the soft-serve...I know, its just soft serve, but it tastes really fresh, rich and creamy. They call it "true milk" because they do not add any artificial flavors or colors to the ice cream. I was worried that the ice cream would be too sweet with the honey, but that isn't the case at all, as the ice cream itself isn't that sweet. The smoothies are pretty good too. I get the original Milk smoothie. It's just like the Sweetie, but blended and much easier to consume on-the-go, which is helpful because this spot is SO tiny. After having gone to the Buena Park location, I was thrilled that they opened one in Irvine, in a strip mall I frequent, no less. Yay! SO now when we've just finished dinner at Yu's Garden or Kaju Soft Tofu, we stroll over to Honeymee and get our desserts. So far, my fave is their affogato product - "honey affogato". I've tried everything else and I think honey affogato and I were meant to be. The girls who work there are pleasant enough...young but pleasant. Oh where were you when I literally lived down the street from you? Location wise it's located right off the 5 freeway in the Harvard Place shopping center. I can't say coming here was always a blessing due to the difficulty of trying to fight to find an open parking spot and just god awful drivers, but driving defensively at least kept me in one food loving piece. Upon entering I was greeted warmly by the staff and that is always a plus. I had already searched the menu prior to my arrival so things were planned out, but to her credit the cashier did go into detail with my wife to break down the menu and differentiate between each items differences. Menu wise it's pretty basic to me (cupped ice cream or the standard cone) but does appear there is something there for everyone to indulge their sweet tooth. My wife selected the Sweetie and I was dead set on the Honeymee and from sampling both neither disappointed by any means. The ice cream itself is very rich and more on the soft serve side than what constitutes ice cream per say. The texture is more milky and actually was not overly sugary which was nice to be honest. I at least left not wondering if the tooth fairy would hijack my entire mouth. The honey here is no joke! I can attest that the honey swirl in the Sweetie gels perfectly with the ice cream and gets a bit sticky, but ooey gooey enjoyment to leave your stomach yelling kablooie! As for the honeycomb chip? Lets just say I would've loved a cigarette afterwards. Ha-ha! All in all it was a unique styling to eating soft serve and fit right into the craze of modern foodie fads. I love this place there used to be one down the street from me but it closed about a year ago, I saw one open up near me and it's the same great taste. The only thing that broke my heart is that they no longer sell honeycomb :( i've called twice asking the people at the front and they told me that they just offer as a topping now. Location: On Walnut in a sizable asian place, Honeymee is kind of small and easy to miss amongst all the restaurants. On the plus side, there is plenty of parking since its in a plaza with other places. But it can get crowded at night... Service: There was no one else inside when we went which was good because there is only ONE table inside. The girl taking orders was very friendly and explained the menu to us because a couple of us hadn't been there before. Our order was out in good time, but again, there was no one else there. Dont know what would happen when crowded in such a tiny place... Food: The ice cream was yummy! Very creamy, and not overly sweet which complemented the honey well for me. My friend ordered caramel with hers and she enjoyed it very much. I don't know that I would go out of my way to find this place to get the ice cream, but it was yummy! I really loved the affogato here, its one of the best affogatos I've had in the OC. Must try. The store itself is really small and has only two tables. I've been curious to try this place because several people raved to me about how good their soft serve is. Was happy to find out there was an irvine location that just opened up. Came in with the boyfriend after Disneyland late one night (apparently they are open til midnight). It's a small store with just one table and some bar seats. You order at the counter and they have a few simple toppings to go with their "true milk" soft serve. I got the Sweetie one (with honey swirled topping) and my boyfriend opted for just the plain Darling one (no toppings), both in a waffle cone. The soft serve truly tastes clean. We didn't know how else to describe it. Not overly sweet, almost like whipped cream without added sugar or flavorings, but with a nice creamy soft serve texture. It definitely tastes fresh. The issue I had with it was that I found it a bit bland and would've loved to see some fresh fruit toppings or something to add more texture to the ice cream. They have fruit shakes that they make with their soft serve so it wouldn't be difficult to make those fruits into toppings in my opinion. Overall, the ice cream did taste unique, but it's a bit pricey for the amount of ice cream they give you. Finally there is one honeymee opened in Irvine. The store is a bit tiny. It can contain like 7,8 people at same time. They have pure ice cream, ice cream with honey, ice cream with honeycomb and with chocolate drizzle. I had one with honeycomb. Cuz I don't wanna super sweet one. I've been here twice so far, and I have to say it's pretty darn good. I've never had honey with ice cream, let alone been much of a honey fan but this place seems to have changed both of those things. Both things I've tried were really good although if I had to choose I'd probably prefer the Sweetie. The ice cream they use is milk flavored. I've never had true milk flavored ice cream before coming here. That being said, the milk flavor isn't too strong, which I think is a good thing. The ice cream is nice and soft and when paired with the honey, it's amazing. It really is an amazing combination. It's not too sweet, which is a good thing because sometimes desserts can be overpowering in terms of sweetness. It has just the right amount of sweetness here. I'd definitely recommend this place. This place is just decadent. It's not quite frozen yogurt and not quite ice cream. It is truly unique! I have had the regular honeymee base with honey comb, and I also have had the Dear with the ghirardelli chocolate swirls. I find that two people with okay appetites can actually share a honeymee if they aren't starving. You can always add a honeycomb on the side. The employees are friendly but the space inside is small. The plaza it is located in has a lot of parking and they are open late. If you are being super healthy or not craving a honeymee (how dare you?!) then you can always get a green tea with honey added as well. I like to come here when I am craving something sweet! read more

This ice cream shop is located in an Asian strip mall in Irvine, right across from the gas station. The staff (or worker bees) are friendly, but the venue is small with extremely finite seating. As for the menu, it is rather limited, with just one ice cream flavor (milk ice cream) served in different variations: Darling - milk ice cream Dear - milk ice cream with Ghirardelli chocolate sauce Honeymee - milk ice cream with honey swirl Sweetie - milk ice cream wit honeycomb chip Babee - choice of ice cream in a sweet bun We tried the Honeymee, which the staff members cited as the most popular item (and also the namesake). The ice cream was soft and creamy, yet light. It was difficult to discern the milk flavor; if they had told me it was vanilla, I wouldn't have known the difference. The honeycomb chip was interesting, adding a layer of flavor and texture to the soft serve. The space for this establishment is pretty dinky but fortunately it's a dessert place with a pretty limited menu. Here's a breakdown of the items we've tried so far: Sweetie (4/5): Who would have thought a simple combo of plain soft serve drizzled with some honey on top would be so surprisingly delicious! There's no fancy breakdown of flavors or stages that come out as the ice cream melts in your mouth, it just works! Honey Hot Tea (5/5): Out of the two honey teas, this one right here is THE one I'll go for 100% of the time, especially if you're feeling under the weather. The honey helps sooth your throat even if you're not coughing up a storm and the taste of honey isn't overwhelming. I'd usually opt for black tea anything but this time, at least for this place, I'll always get the green tea. Honey Iced Tea (4/5): Not sure what to say here... I can't tell if the ice ruined the goodness of what I described for the Hot Tea, or the whole cinnamon stick just ruined the whole experience for me.
