Tried this place for brunch after seeing their super cute mimosas on an Instagram post and wasn't disappointed! Each flavor of mimosa was decorated differently, very aesthetically pleasing and tasted pretty good! The absolute winner for me was the lobster Benedict which was full of lobster & the eggs were perfect. Also tried the orange & raspberry pancake which I really enjoyed as well because it was such a unique flavor. Only thing that was a bit interesting is that you have to order at the counter before sitting, and have to go back to the counter at the front to get anything else and it's a new bill each time, which can get a little inconvenient if you're hoping to get a few drinks. Otherwise, I'd say it's a good spot for brunch in Encinitas. read more

Whoa, I think I found my new breakfast spot in Encinitas. Great menu ranging from a huge variety of omelettes, eggs Benny, south of the border themed creations, hearty country style options, lighter fare, and tons of sweet treats. I'm in love!!! Always good food here and always good service. My only complaint is their system where you order at the counter and then hunt for an open table. My nightmare scenario is ordering and receiving my food before I can find a table. Thankfully, that has never happened. They do just about everything well here. I always order the chilaquiles because I'm addicted to them but pretty much all of their food is done well. The menu is very long and interesting. They also offer about 15 different types of coffee (self-serve) so it's fun to try different varieties as you overdose on caffeine. Sometimes the staff can get overrun when they are busy but they are always friendly and work very hard. This is a great neighborhood spot. Free street parking. You might have to hunt a little or walk a block or two but no big deal. read more

Ambiance is cute on a busy street it's order at the front and then they bring you your food to your table. Micheladas were not great. They look amazing but all they taste like is tomato juice. Not going to lie, I go next door to taco stand constantly and didn't notice this place existed for literally years. It might not look like much on the outside but boy is the breakfast tasty! Highly recommended the açaí bowl and a gargantuan side of breakfast potatoes with cheese. They were both all I could hope for. I would give five starts but the waitress actually forgot about us, we were seated in a hard to spot area outside at the end, and we sat there for maybe 45 min before going to the stand and asking for our check. we planned out a day trip to san diego because we were visting carlsbad flowers field. we wanted to start off with a bang going to honey's bistro. I've seen that the reviews and photos were really good so we decided to come here. We came and ordered our food. I got a steak benedict and my friends got their omelettes. My food came out and i already noticed one of my egg was already popped. i know that it shouldn't have been a big deal but when people usually order a benedict they would like to pop their own eggs instead of one coming out popped already. That wasn't the only problem though, I was cutting into my steak when i realized that it was really tough already and that my first bite was literally so overcooked that i couldn't even chew it so i had to spit it out. Mind you i asked for my steak to be medium rare and the steak was over well done. The potatoes weren't good at all. It just felt like they cut a raw potato and put it on ur plate. The potato had no seasoning and was dry. Lastly one of my friends plate had multiple parts of eggshells in it that she couldn't even enjoy her food. The girl who took our ordered seemed like she didn't want to be there. She just had an attitude. But one of the kitchen guy helped bring us with all the sauces we needed and asks us if we needed anything. He was very sweet. read more

Honeys is doing dinner now. For some reason it seems that the marketing isn't that great cause the place was empty, but the food was great. Every bit as good as I would expect from the quality of their breakfast. Had the $15 taco and beer special. Perhaps the best compliment I can give is that this place is right next to The Taco Stand and I didn't regret coming to Honeys. Give it a try I don't think you'll regret it, and I'd like to see their dinner experiment succeed I think they'll be an addition to the neighborhood. read more

This was our first visit to Honey's after the remodel. It looks quite modern and has a nice vibe. Unfortunately our meals were disappointing. I had the avocado toast - it had a nice presentation but was missing a main ingredient, the quinoa. When I asked, they admitted they forgot to add it so brought me a small cold bowl as a side. My partner had an ABC omelette, but "B" for bacon must have been ham or some fatty chunky pieces of bacon, not so tasty. While looking for new places locally I came across Honey's Bistro and Bakery so decided to give it a try. Good location, very nicely decorated inside and plenty of seating for a small place. Staff working were very friendly and helpful. Quite a large variety of breakfast items, both in the menu and the "specials". I took a quick look at the lunch menu and also found a nice variety. I tried the basic Ham and Cheese Omelette with country potatoes (you also have an option of fruit instead of the potatoes). I will start out by saying I'm a very picky eater so it's my fault for not asking what they made the country potatoes with. I personally didn't care for them because they use a lot of bell peppers (green and red). I can't stand bell peppers and the flavor of them is absorbed by the potatoes so those were a bust for me. The omelette was pretty good, but I personally prefer chunks of ham vs what appeared to be thin sliced ham you might use on a sandwich. It was cut up and mixed throughout the omelette but again just a personal preference. I will definitely go back and will recommend it to family and friends. Just a suggestion if you are one who likes to go to breakfast early, depending on the weather, make sure you keep a sweater or jacket near by because they open the large front windows and door, which is nice, but it can really put a chill in the air. read more
