Shrimp & pork wonton noodle soup ($20.88) and black pepper beef ($36.88) OPM: Over Priced and Mediocre
    Joe P.

Its Ninth island Time but its also OPM (Over Priced and Mediocre Mon)! We wanted to grab a light, quick meal to tide us over until dinner. HKC is in the Palazzo and sounded appealing. First of all, the wontons in the soup were too hard. Perhaps cooking them in the broth longer would have helped. Secondarily, the beef was tender and nicely seasoned. However, some of the pieces of meat were cool, indicating a lack of heat control with the wok. On top of being mediocre, both dishes were overpriced AF. The service fr Mayco was very good. She was attentive and nice. On the other hand, the ambiance was nothing special. I was surprised to see so many Chinese speaking customers in a mediocre restaurant. Lastly, the restrooms are a hike fr the restaurant in the casino. For the prices they charge, HKC should have their own restrooms. A very ho hum experience. Next time I'll take a rideshare to Spring Mountain and get some better Chinese food at lower prices.

    Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodles

I came for lunch after a night of drinks and chose the Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodles. The broth was nice and light, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the wonton had a nice flavor. This was a nice light meal and left me satisfied.

    Chow fun

Visited Hong Kong Cafe inside The Palazzo and had a really pleasant experience overall. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated inside, making it a comfortable place to dine, especially considering it's located in a casino. The atmosphere feels welcoming and well maintained. Service was a standout--our waiters were very friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The food was very delicious. The fried rice was cooked perfectly--not wet, not dry, just right. The chow fun was a little oily, but not overwhelming at all and not too salty, which I appreciated. Of course, it's not cheap, but the pricing is reasonable given the location inside a casino and the quality of food and service. There was a bit of a wait, but it was manageable and understandable for such a popular spot. Would definitely come back again.

    Vegetable Fried Rice $20.88

Helpful Tip: Palazzo 1st floor This hotel is super busy and all the quick restaurants are pretty consistent with people. I opted for this place and asked the server what veggies are in the vegetable fried rice. The waiter listed broccoli and carrots after a short pause (he totally guessed). After about fifteen minutes I received my order and there is no broccoli, theres a few carrot crumbs in my opinion (tiny, minced carrot pieces) and chopped pieces of snap peas. The container is a decent size but the portion was a little light for $20.88. No flavor and no time to get anything else. Venetian has way better quality food like Noodle Asia and Nomaki. The service is lackluster.

Hong Kong Cafe is located in The Palazzo Resort. If you are coming in from the restaurant row passageway, turn left as soon as you step onto The Palazzo casino floor. The menu items are essentially Cantonese. There are soup noodles, congee and dim sum, along with entree items. My family and I were guests at the Venetian Resort during the Thanksgiving weekend. During our five-day stay, we had two meals at Hong Kong Cafe--so I would say that we liked the food. The food preparation and taste were good. But I'm torn about the portions. Within the context of a Las Vegas casino resort, I'm fine with the serving sizes. I do not see myself bringing leftovers back to my hotel room. But, if this was an off Strip Chinese restaurant, the servings would be seen as "light".

Hot and sour soup with tofu

Actually the food was good, the service so so. They forgot to bring mamy items to our table, and we had to remind them a couple of times about it. They have several dishes that are indicated as vegetarian/vegan, and few which they can make vegan. Just make sure that there isn't any egg on the dish if you want it to be vegan. The hot and sour soup was very salty, I couldn't finish it, the green beans with garlic very good, and the braised eggplant was actually delicious. I asked to add tofu instead of pork. They were able to accommodate. If the service was better I'd probably give them 4 stars, but it was really lacking.

Hidden gem for tasty Hong Kong-style dishes inside the Casino. I bet the chef is from Hong Kong because the flavors tasted authentic and delicious. We normally drive to Chinatown when we want good Chinese food, but we happened to be in the area and decided to give this place a try without any expectations. Glad we did. The food was flavorful, fresh, and really hit the spot. Definitely worth trying if you are nearby!

    Cutting of the Peking Duck

Christmas Eve dinner before a show at the Sphere. Made reservations and got right in when we arrived. The restaurant is very subtly decorated but classy. We came for the Peking Duck with a few extra sides. Not quite as good as Taste on Rainbow blvd. But never the less very good. I love when they cut it up table side. Very good service on this night. If you're here on the strip or even more so staying at the Venetian you can't go wrong eating here.

Hong Kong Cafe is located inside Palazzo on the casino floor. Went there for lunch on my last day in Vegas. It was not busy with a couple of table occupied. Was a little hungry and ordered the Triple roasted meat combo - char siu, steamed chicken and roasted duck along with a bowl of rice and hot tea. Overall rating, the barbecue meats were pretty decent. All were juicy. Roasted duck has some fat but not too fatty. The sauces complimented the meats well. While I could have gone to Chinatown for better quality roasted meats, I would have had to go outside in 110F heat. Price wise is a bit expensive like everything on the strip. $30+.

This place is amazing! They've improved so much over the years. This used to be our "just-to-get-by" food spot, but over the past few months it's turned into something we actually crave. You can really tell they've been consistently improving--both the taste and the service. Big shout-out to Diodee, the manager, who is always kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Part of me wants to gatekeep this place so it doesn't get too busy , but they truly deserve the recognition. Our favorites: Siomai Fried chicken wings Squid calamari Hong Kong milk tea Seafood crispy pan-fried noodles Everything is so good--even my very picky son loves it, which says a lot! Definitely worth giving this place another try if you haven't been back in a while. Yum!

This restaurant is located right off the Palazzo Casino floor and is convenient if you're craving Chinese food and don't want to walk to the Venetian side. Be aware that they have casino pricing. I like coming here mainly for the Peking Duck. Sometimes you just want Duck. Comes with a nice table side cutting and then preparation of the individual servings. The rest of the duck is then taken to the kitchen for cutting and then served. Just add a starch and soup to complete the meal. Service is always great here.

Had dinner here after the 5pm showing of the Wizard of Oz. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The restaurant was not crowded, service was efficient, and we had a great experience overall. The food was delicious and we had: Salt & Pepper Squid, Honey-Glazed Walnut Prawns, Ginger Scallion US Angus Beef, Choy Sum, and side of Steamed rice.

The food was excellent. this place always has great Chinese food. The service was professional and fast. And the ambience was very nice as well. We definitely come here every time we come to Las Vegas.the beef lo mein was excellent, nice smoky taste, cooked in a hot wok.

The menu runs the full arc from classic dim sum executed with genuine care, to creative preparations that justify their own existence rather than just existing to be interesting, to live seafood presentations that remind us why we made the drive. The garlic sandstorm lobster is a personal obsession at this point. The Peking duck service is more than decent. That's not a small thing. Decent Peking duck in the hands of a kitchen that actually respects the bird is better than spectacular Peking duck somewhere that treats it like a menu checkbox. One warning, delivered in good faith to diners: we once held a 9:30pm reservation that Palette accepted without comment, then called us to request we move it because the kitchen closes around that time. The reservation system, as of our last check, still accepts 9:30 bookings. Whether the kitchen situation has evolved is unclear. What is clear is that the right move is to verify before you arrive, or simply book earlier. Vegas' Chinatown is vast. Not all of it deserves your time. This one does.

Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai (5/5): The absolute highlight of the meal and easily one of the best versions of this classic dish available. The order comes with four enormous pieces that taste incredibly fresh, with every single bite packed to the brim with juicy, distinct chunks of real shrimp and pork. Bean Curd Skin Roll (5/5): Another standout favorite of the visit. The dish includes three large rolls cut cleanly in half, packed with incredibly juicy meat filling. It's especially delicious when you ladle the savory sauce from the bottom of the plate over each bite. Cream Egg Yolk Bun (5/5): A dessert that tastes like a cross between an egg tart and a sweet pineapple bun. The sweet egg yolk cream center is warm and exceptionally gooey, so you'll want to take your first bite carefully to prevent the runny filling from splattering. Salt and Pepper Squid (4/5): A very clean, airy, and crispy appetizer that shows zero signs of being fried in old kitchen oil. While the batter leans a bit light on the expected salt and savory seasoning, the abundance of thinly sliced fresh jalapeno peppers added a spicy kick. Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf (4/5): A very solid, comforting option with excellent overall flavor throughout the rice, though the savory meat filling hidden inside the center felt a little sparse. Beef Tripe with Ginger and Scallion (4/5): A dim sum staple featuring an incredibly delicious, gingery sauce and great savory flavor. Beef Congee (4/5): We ordered the medium-sized bowl, which easily yielded at least 4 smaller bowls of congee, making it a perfect shared carb to round out the meal. It had a comforting consistency with a subtle note of ginger, though it personally sits just below a traditional preserved egg and pork style for me. Logistics Tip: Arriving around noon on the weekend means encountering a packed house, but the staff moves the crowd efficiently and gets tables turned over in short order. You place your order by marking your selections directly onto a paper slip, and the kitchen sends items out to your table as soon as they're ready, meaning dishes will arrive in a random, staggered flow throughout your dining experience.

The vast majority of the items we ordered were straight off of carts that were being pushed around. It felt like a blast from the past since a lot of dim sum places now are strictly checking items off a menu or mostly menu with a handful of carts. For a place called New Asian BBQ, we saw very few people ordering BBQ. The food: Zha liang - rice noodle roll wrapped around a you tiao (fried cruller). Probably the least healthy thing on the menu, but arguably the tastiest with different textures and a ton of flavor from the 3 dipping sauces (soy based, sesame based, oyster sauce based) Shrimp and Chive steamed dumpling - I'm always a sucker for this steamed version or the pan fried version. One of the few glimpses of vegetables you'll see at dim sum. Chang Fen (rice noodle roll) - we ordered a shrimp and a beef - both easily meeting our standards Dou Hua (tofu pudding) - served hot with ginger simple syrup. It's even softer than silken tofu. The dish is a bit polarizing, but I like a good Dou Hua. Taro Puffs - always a favorite of ours, they have a pretty good one here Steamed beef ribs - this was an interesting one we've never had at a dim sum restaurant. They're short ribs with a soy, sugar marinade. Pineapple Bun with Salted Egg Yolk - I don't even know what this was called on the menu, but it was the filling of a Liu Sha Bao inside a Pineapple Bun. All these met expectations - Bean Curd (tofu skin) Pork Roll, Ginger Tripe, Shrimp Dumplings, Beef Balls For Dim Sum, I typically expect at least $30 per person. We ate a ton and came in a smidge under that after tax and tip. Everything was good to great and we were very happy that we decided to eat here for brunch. Great place for dim sum in terms of food quality and if you want to order from carts!

We arrived around 7:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately, making for a smooth start to the evening. The restaurant has a modern, clean, and well-maintained interior that creates a comfortable dining atmosphere. Even during dinner service, the dining room felt organized, inviting, and relaxing. One of the highlights of the visit was the exceptional service. The staff and waitresses were attentive throughout our meal, frequently checking on our table without being intrusive. Their professionalism and efficiency added to the overall dining experience. As always, the Pork Siomai did not disappoint. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The texture was tender, and you could tell it was prepared with consistency and care. It's one of those dishes that keeps me coming back every time. 5/5 The Wonton Noodle Soup, however, was a bit underwhelming. While the wontons themselves were enjoyable, the noodles lacked the fresh, springy texture I was expecting, and the broth was served only lukewarm instead of piping hot. A hotter soup and fresher noodles would have elevated this dish significantly. 3/5 Overall, Tim Ho Wan continues to be one of the better places to enjoy quality dim sum. The excellent service, consistently delicious signature dishes, and modern, well-maintained restaurant make it worth visiting. While there's still room for improvement with some menu items, the overall experience remains satisfying. Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Recommendation: If it's your first visit, don't leave without trying the Pork Siomai. It's consistently one of the restaurant's standout dishes and a great example of why Tim Ho Wan has earned its reputation among dim sum lovers.

Finding the Real Deal: Dim Sumlicious is the Authentic Yum Cha Las Vegas Has Been Missing…read moreLas Vegas has no shortage of Chinese restaurants, but anyone who's grown up going to yum cha knows the difference between dim sum done right and dim sum done for tourists. I've been on a quiet, slightly obsessive hunt across this city for the genuine article -- the kind of Sunday morning experience that transports you straight to a bustling Hong Kong tea house. And friends, I found it. It's called Dim Sumlicious, and the name does not lie. The moment the first bamboo basket hit our table, I knew this was different. Dim Sumlicious has a chef with over 30 years of experience honing his craft in Hong Kong, and it shows in every single bite. This isn't the frozen-and-steamed shortcut situation you'll find at so many spots around town. These are handmade, skillfully executed classics that carry the weight of real tradition behind them. The har gow wrappers had that perfect translucent delicacy -- thin enough to see through, sturdy enough to hold. The siu mai were plump and properly seasoned. The char siu bao, both baked and steamed, hit every note I was hoping for. Cart after cart brought something worth ordering, and nothing disappointed. But beyond the food, what struck me about Dim Sumlicious was the atmosphere of care. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable -- a rarity in a city where restaurants can feel like they're processing customers on a conveyor belt. If you're a dim sum devotee who's been settling for "pretty good," your search is over. Dim Sumlicious is the real deal -- no asterisks, no caveats.
