Used to go there for about two years (~once a month.) Food quality consistently decreased..then on one occasion... I found hair in my lo mein! Called the restaurant and the woman wouldn't believe me. I absolutely had no incentive to lie to her. When i brought back the food to prove it to, she was very rude. She started digging through it and would still not admit to it even though the hair was staring at her! All I wanted was for her to take responsibility so that she improves her food hygiene. The gross place screwed up my order. Ordered roast pork lo mein and they gave us roast pork fried rice. When i called they wanted to charge me the difference and wanted me to come back and pick it up. We had to return the roast pork fried rice. I hope they didn't resell it. Not sure what one reviewer meant about the bbq ribs. Subpar at best. They gain a star for including both soup and egg roll in their combination plates but all of the food I tried was exceedingly boring, wonton soup especially (i was hoping the homemade "table" noodles would save it but unfortunately they were at least a day old and very stale). Fried rice had something along the lines of eggbeaters scrambled eggs in them (and little else), and the chicken dumplings were dry and the sauce cloyingly sweet. I will say the woman behind the counter was very sweet and friendly, but alas the hunt continues! read more

The best consistent Chinese food in my area (worth trip back and fort). Pleasure to watch family work together.

I first tasted their Beef Chow Fun (with flat noodles) when a friend brought it home, and I was amazed that a Chinese takeout could perfect this dish. Not only was it very tasty and delicious, they also added a variety of vegetables that you usually don't find in this dish. So I came back again for take out and was a bit surprised at the high prices for the Special Combination Platters. After much deliberation, I ordered the Pepper Steak ($7.99). To justify the higher prices, I noticed that you can choose between White Rice, Pork Fried Rice, or Brown Rice. In addition, you also get soup (Wonton Soup, Egg Drop Soup, or Hout & Sour Soup) and an eggroll. I chose the brown rice and Hot & Sour Soup. Not too shabby for the higher price, where many take out restaurants tend to charge extra for brown rice or when substituting soup for an egg roll. Not here, you get all three!!! It took about 10 minutes to prepare, in largely because they were preparing a large order right before ours. On to the food.... The pepper steak is basically slices of beef, sauteed with sliced peppers and onions. The beef was tender and tasty, and the vegetables were fresh and still maintained a nice crunch. Portions were not filled to the brim of the white takeout container, as other take out restaurants may sometimes do, but I wasn't too disappointed since I also had the soup and egg roll. The brown rice was fairly standard and prepared just right, not too hard or too mushy. The hot & sour soup was subtle in flavors of soy sauce and vinegar, neither overpowering the other. It also packed a hint of heat (spice), though nothing overbearing. Ingredients were typical: black cloud ear fungus, tofu, dried lily buds, bamboo shoots, and chili flakes. The fried chips were a nice treat as they are not the typical thin generic strips, but rather large homemade deep-fried chips in all its deliciousness. The chips were ever so slightly stale but still very tasty. Probably the biggest disappointment was the egg roll which had a hint of cardboard taste, as if it were slightly old. In all, don't be too alarmed with the higher than norm prices for a decent Chinese takeout restaurant. I have experienced a couple of their other dishes before, which I was easily satisfied, so I'm hoping they just had an off-day on my most recent visit. read more

I ordered their food today, it smelled so bad, the rice had vegetables and they were old, the chicken was soggy and it smelled too, I got disgusted I just threw it out, I wouldn't even bother to call for refund or replacement of food. I can't believe they are allowed to sell food. The department of health should be visiting them. read more

I have ordered from this place a few times in the past, decided to give it another try last night, was disappointed again. I ordered general Tso's chicken w/ pork fried rice, sesame chicken, fried chicken wings, and chicken w/ broccoli for dinner delivery. The meats were flavorless for the most part and the texture of the sesame & general tso was unpleasant. Food portions were skimped, was expecting them to fill up the white container like all places do. The pork fried rice was amazing and on point. The egg rolls were also delicious, but nothing special. It was probably drowned in MSG. The wonton soup was also good. The food took 45 minutes to arrive, however i was disappointed that they did not provide napkins, forks, hot sauce, fortune cookies, and the sodas were warmer than room temperature. They are very cheap when it comes to extras, and was disappointed they skimped me AGAIN. If you're going to order and want forks/napkins/etc, be sure to ask over the phone because they don't like to give it away. I even called again to remind them to include hot sauce, and they still forget, the lady who answers the phone isn't the brightest. Lastly, the food was overpriced in my opinion, considering the portions, taste, and quality. I remember ordering 3 dishes during lunch hours, and it still came out to $26 somehow. This is my favorite Chinese food place. I love their general tsos chicken and they use white meat for all their chicken without any extra charge unlike the other places. The service is amazing and they get my order right every time and the restaurant is the cleanest I've seen. read more

love the food but they can be beyond rude! my parents order their lunch in specials and we ordered it 5 minutes before the end time for the special and they were giving us a hard time that we better be there before the time frame ended. they even called our house back preventing us from leaving right away to get there before the time frame was over. very rude and beyond disgusting behavior. no other chinese place acts like that. extremely disappointed and probably won't go back here. it's worth avoiding if possible coming to this specific chinese take out place. read more

I have been ordering here for 40 years! My husband didn't check the order and we got a pint of soup instead of a quart- I called them and told them we always get a quart and the owner said, "I know" so I replied then you will give my husband more soup when he comes back and she said, "he will pay for more because we only charged for a pint" I'm outraged because going back means my husband spends at least 20 mins there and back and yes we paid for a pint but what would it cost them to give him a free pint of wonton soup since it was their error? To call them cheap and say they have poor customer service doesn't say the half of it- don't go here! read more

The food is okay, nothing wow about it. But omg does their service suck! Every time I order for pick up, they NEVER put utensils (like how am I suppose to eat this rice at work) and only put two sauces, even on bigger orders. Then if you ask for more you will only get one extra. read more

I've lived on long island, in new york city, boston, LA, and now SF. This is hands down the best chinese take out place I've ever eaten at. The beef with broccoli is the best b w/ b I've ever tasted and the hot and sour soup is great. Every time I come back to LI, I hit this place up. Agree with Michael S. I've been wanting to try this place for a quick bite and went with wife and kid in tow. The food received was actually not bad. Small portion on the lunch, however I was ok with it, and ordered another lunch to split with wife. Wife doesn't like broccoli, so I asked to substitute any vegetable, and asked for snow peas. The woman had a problem with that. They put 4 pea pods in the meal. I asked for a hot oil, to which, she asked me for the original cup from the initial ask - to fill at the cook's station. I still, had no problem with it - being that I worked at 3 Chinese Restaurants, and 1 pizzeria, I realize the need to save. I go to pay, (being that I'm honest) the woman charged me for 1 lunch, and I told her it was a total of 3 lunches. She rings me up, and I realize she over charges me. I explain to her the overage and she exclaims that she should have charged me for the hot oil, and the vegetable switch. I said that if she was going to charge me for hot oil (albeit bad practice) if she were to do so, that she should tell me there's a charge, prior to giving it to me. Then she says she never charged me for it. The woman clearly doesn't see a customer ever right - even though I proved to her that her math was wrong. And it was clear, that she tried to over-charge me without my knowledge. I was fine with all of the unpleasant nuances of my meal - except when she over-charged me and tried to blame me for it. Even trying to explain to her that she owed me money - she clearly was trying to make her point that she was right. I told her I would never charge anyone for a little extra if the roles were reverse, and she said to me that a pizzeria is entirely different. It's good business practice. There's nothing different about it. Service with a smile goes a long way. I will never return to this establishment, knowing that I may easily be over-charged at any point if I'm not minding my bill. If you're a regular, be mindful to check your bill. You might be surprised of what you discover. read more
