6 Piece Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, beef Scallion Pancake W. Sliced Beef, Beef Rice Roll
    Justine W.

Have been to their flushing location and love they opened another location in Long Island. Their food is affordable and delicious. I love getting their pork soup dumplings and beef scallion pancake. If u spend more than $20, u can get a free 6 pc soup dumpling or a Peking duck bun Service was quick and there are plenty of seatings around the supermarket.

The food here was pretty amazing! I was hungry, so I over-ordered and had plenty of leftovers for the next day. I ordered the yin & yang soup, and much to my surprise, I got 2 large sized containers! The assorted soup dumplings that I ordered was also a huge size. Since I ordered over $20, there was a special promotion of complimentary soup dumplings or duck buns. I opted for the soup dumplings and did not realize it was a full large order. Everything tasted amazing! While dining, I chatted with the owner who told me they have actual restaurants. The one that I visited inside the 99 Ranch Market was the same in flavor, but just not presented in fancy bowls and platters. I would visit this restaurant again next time I'm in town!

My daughter and I were super hungry after a play date at Empire Adventure Park upstairs in the mall. This food stall lured us in, with fresh buns on display, ducks hanging, photos of soup dumplings. The woman who took our order was helpful and we got two free Peking duck buns because we ordered three orders of soup dumplings. The soup dumplings were all flavorful and delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. The food court in the market was very open, lots of people walking by. There is a location in Bayside that we will be checking out. I'd like to dine in there.

I've been here twice thus far. The staff are great and the food is good, if not stellar. I'm primarily knocking off a star for the exorbitant prices especially in consideration to the portion sizes. This is a kiosk in the 99 Ranch Market food court and I feel like the prices are more commiserate to a sit down restaurant atmosphere with larger portions.

I ordered from here a few times for delivery & did pickup once. The food here has always been consistent, delivered hot & packaged well and everything tasted good. However, the portions are on the smaller side and not to mention, pretty pricey for some items like- 1 piece of spare rib for $5, $20 for a sesame chicken w/ rice & $60+ whole Peking duck. The service is very friendly & efficient, all the dishes I've tried were flavorful and this location is convenient without having to drive to Bayside or Flushing when I'm craving Shanghainese food. I really like their rice cake, cold appetizers & Peking duck. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area- located inside Ranch 99 Market and opens at 9 am daily, they serve breakfast too.

It always escapes my mind that Shanghai You Garden exists within 99Ranch, but thank goodness they do! I had a huge craving for soup dumplings, but we didn't want to make the trek to Flushing. Thankfully, I was able to satisfy my cravings here! Shanghai You Garden seems to be doing really well as a stall here, and the food quality hasn't been compromised at all. Orders are still churned out quickly, everything is perfectly seasoned, and it's piping hot. The only thing I would note is, I wish they would invest in better spoons for the soup dumplings; the tiny takeout spoons just don't work well. My fiance & I ordered the soup dumplings, shanghai pan fried udon, fried dumplings, and the spicy beef tendon/shank/tripe mix. Their soup dumplings always hit. Perfectly juicy, piping hot, and super savory. Shanghai pan fried udon was a bit on the saltier end since it was sitting in sauce, but still good. I looove spicy beef tendon but never really get it. Do yourself a favor & get it here! It's delish. Ambiance is what you would expect for a supermarket food court. Nothing fancy shmancy. But good double whammy - a quick meal & grocery shopping!

Great dim sum place that is very conveniently located inside 99 ranch market. The dishes are very traditional and taste great! Prices are also very reasonable and they have a great deal where if you order $20 or more, then they'll give you either a free Peking duck bun or a serving of soup dumpling. Definitely go with the soup dumplings! They're just as good if not better than those at din tai fung. So be strategic with your ordering to make sure you get it!

Note that there's a 4% surcharge for credit card transactions, so definitely bring cash when you come! My favorite is the scallion pancake with sliced beef - it's delicious. However, unlike some other establishments, they don't provide sauce on the side. Another standout dish is the beef pan fried udon noodle! Since we spent more than $10, we received a complimentary sample of the Peking duck bun. In addition to their menu offerings, they also have ready-to-eat options such as sesame balls, youtiao, rice cake, and cold dish appetizers, as well as frozen dim sum available for purchase to enjoy at home. I'm glad there's a location closer to home now, and while they do offer seating, it's primarily a grab-and-go establishment.

About 2.5 stars for Ham Sui Gok and sesame ball I got. Both have too much dough over stuffing. Sesame ball: only about 1/6 was read bean. The out layer was nicely deep fried. Ham Sui Gok: missing very important ingredients such as krill, black fungi, Chinese dark mushrooms. Pricy and quite disappointed These Cantonese dim sum items may not be their strength. I will try some of traditional Shanghainese food next time and hope will make up the disappointment.

As our son lives in Bayside, we are well aware of Shanghai You Garden as the premiere location for Chinatown cooking in the neighborhood. A year ago we saw a sign at the newly opened 99 Ranch Market promising this restaurant in their food court - arriving soon. A month ago the sign went down, and we'd pretty well given up. Then yesterday, we were picking up a few things at 99 Ranch, and my wife told me "You won't believe this." Over time. we have found that the best things out of Shanghai are the appetizers - starting with their signature Peking duck sandwich. I consider that the finest duck on the island. I picked up a load of those and added a large sesame ball and pork dumplings. All of stellar quality. The staff told us that they'd only been open for a week, but it was beginning to get mobbed at opening time, so their reputation preceded them. Staff were plainly loving the attention and giddy with excitement. Will be back very soon.

I was very happy to see an outpost of Shanghai You Garden open up at the 99 Ranch supermarket; definitely a big win for the area. It seems that the main draw of this place might be for the dim sum items and soup dumplings. I've been here a few times now and the place can get pretty busy with churning out orders. This place is a stall inside of the supermarket so it is to-go only and there is a lot of seating in the food court area if you wish to dine in. The menu here is very extensive but I've just tried a few things. I've had the pork soup dumplings (6 for $10), the shrimp dumplings (4 for $6), and the braised beef noodle soup ($14). I enjoyed all of them to be honest and had no egregious experiences with the quality of the food. The pork soup dumplings were definitely tasty and it's nice to have a nearby spot where you can get them in a fast casual setting. The shrimp dumplings here are pretty amazing; they are plump and are stuffed pretty generously with shrimp. The wrappers for the dumplings are somewhat thick and translucent. The beef noodle soup was flavorful. The broth is very dark and rich. I was a little disappointed that you only get 3 pieces of beef, but they are pretty tasty and satisfying. Another piece or two of beef would've been appreciated. Weakest part is probably the noodles. I've grown accustomed to getting hand pulled noodles in places like Flushing which have a bouncier, chewier, more satisfying texture. So these noodles in comparison are a bit flat, but not terrible. I'd still rate this three stars, mostly due to pricing. I think the prices are higher than they should be considering that this is a grab and go establishment. I love dumplings, but I personally think prices of $1.50 and $1.67 per dumpling (without tax) are a bit obscene. And I think the beef noodle soup should be $11-12 max. Just my opinion. But overall, I'm happy that we have the option of dining at this place in Nassau County in 2024.

So glad that Shanghai You Garden opened in Long Island! It's located in the food court of 99 Ranch, very convenient considering there's a parking lot and it's all order to-go. There are seats inside the food court area if you want to dine there as well but I got my order to go. We ordered fairly quick and the staff was nice and as efficient as they could be considering it was peak lunch time. Since they just recently opened, it was also packed! There was a line of people who wanted to pay and order. Shanghai You Garden is one of my favorite spots for soup dumplings since the dine-in restaurants are always well decorated and service is always quick. Usually when you dine in, they offer free pecking duck buns per person or an order of soup dumplings. At this food court stand, they offer peking duck buns when you order $20+. We ended up getting a box of 6 with our order. I've tried so many things from their menu from the sit down restaurants and even though I ordered take out here, the quality of the food was the same. I was unsure if it would be as good at first but it was just as good and very convenient! They also had the exact same menu as their other locations, instead of shortening the menu, which I definitely appreciate. They also take both cash and card, but a credit card fee will be charged if using card. At least you aren't paying tip since it's take out! This will definitely be one of my top Chinese food spots for sure. The lack of authentic Chinese/Asian food in Long Island is slowly turning for the better!

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.

They had a pretty good assortment of Chinese food and sushi. Sushi was fine and although they were on the smaller side, the fish to rice ratio was actually great. They even had some specialty rolls. The selection isn't as good a Mizumi but it got the job done. Dumplings were good and I enjoyed the egg drop soup. Most of the Chinese food that I tried was pretty good but nothing fantastic.
