Hong Kong Station is hands down a game changer for Chinese food in Colorado! This place is always packed--and for good reason. The food comes out in record time yet somehow it's always consistent, always delicious, and always hits the spot. My usual go-to lineup is the beef chow fun, shrimp wonton noodle soup, salted fish chicken fried rice, and sweet and spicy beef. These dishes are the real deal and have seriously unlocked some core childhood memories for me. It's like I'm back at my family's favorite spots at home from when I was growing up and you already know it's a banger finding that kind of authenticity here. This has been another winner in our exploration of restaurants outside our usual distance radius. We try something new each time we go, and we haven't been disappointed yet. We've explored both sides of the menu (one side is in English and the other side is primarily Chinese). My favorite dishes are the Singapore noodles, scallion beef, and ginger lamb. I was really disappointed this time. Only giving it a one star because of the extremely poor service!!! My sister and I came here extra early for dinner at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday night before the Cyndi Lauper show. We had plenty of time to not rush dinner and get to the show in good timing. We were seated in 10 mins which was fine. The place was clean. The place was packed which I found it unusual, but we were assuming because of the concert. Our waiter didn't even take our order until 20 mins. We had to ask about 30 mins in to see if they remembered our orders. We waited for 45 minutes until our orders finally came out! It was ridiculous!!! At this point, we just started to eat as fast as we could so we could have time to drive to concert, park, and walk over. The food was good. Our least favorite was the chicken and garlic. The dish just had too much vegetables going on. The other two dishes were great. Ugh, terrible service this time. We ordered the beef chow fun, the salt and pepper fish and the scrambled egg with shrimp. All 3 dishes were awesome. We have not had authentic Chinese dishes in years so this was really a treat!! We did have to return the mapo tofu that we ordered. It's like they dumped a whole cup of chili into the dish. You couldn't even appreciate the taste of the tofu because it was overwhelming hot from the chili. I only giving 2 stars because of the poor customer service. We had walked into the restaurant not realizing they weren't open yet, and one of the girls that works there said in the most snootiest voice"We're not open, we open at 11:30!!". If it was so upsetting to her for us to walk into the restaurant early, she should have left the door locked. The rest of the waitresses/servers weren't the friendliest either. They would just drop your dishes off with no smile or no "how is everything?" Just because your food is really good doesn't entirle you to be rude, snooty or indifferent to customers! We've been coming here since they opened and love all their dishes. My favorite dish is the seafood tofu clay pot. I LOVE how piping hot the dish comes out. The sauce is bubbling still with steam floating in the air. The tofu is soft and chewy on the outside and creamy, almost custard like consistency on the inside. It is delicious! We've tried their twice cooked pork and many other dishes. The last time we went the food did taste a little different. I'm not sure if there was a change in chefs,but the food was still good. One thing to keep in mind is that they are busy ALL the time. I'd recommend getting there early to get on the wait list. Between my last review and now nothing much has changed except one thing: We dined in tonight. Food is still awesome. Service is just as amazing. The hustle and bustle remind me Hong Kong and Taiwanese vibes but in America. This is exactly the atmosphere I chase but don't have to travel 16+ hours by plane. All the dishes remind me of growing up in Taiwan. Now if they ever decided to roll out with dim sum on the weekends that would be amazing! Everything from the hot and sour soup to scallion pancakes to the Szechuan boiled fish and even eggplant were OUTSTANDING! There is no option to give a 6th star but this one place who has deserve it from all our experiences. They cater to everyone and the waitstaff is quick. I can't wait for outdoor dining to be available because I'm sure that will give the atmosphere extra zing too! Standing outside in the parking already makes me hungry. We came on a weekday for lunch and were able to be seated immediately. The staff here were excellent. They were helpful and attentive. I love that the water cups are metal, it keeps the drinks so much colder! We got pork egg rolls as our appetizer. I ordered the Panang curry beef lunch special and my husband ordered the sesame chicken. Everything was excellent. It is a lot of the same items you would order from any Chinese restaurant but they have just perfected their recipes. All the ingredients were very fresh. We absolutely loved our food! I definitely recommend checking them out and knowing you can count on them to be your go to place for Chinese specifically takeout style. I have gone to Hong Kong Station many times now, and it is a good go to both for a lunch special (great prices) and take out for dinner. I got the orange chicken the other week and it was battered just perfectly, fried just right and the sauce was not too sweet. The other food for lunch I've tried there (beef and broccoli, lo main, sweet and sour chicken) never disappoints. The lunch comes out fast and hot, and comes with a egg roll and crab rangoon too. So I'm new to Colorado, (NY transplant where it's easy to find good Chinese) and I've been dying to find good Chinese food around here, and after speaking to my local barber, he told me about this place and let me tell you, it delivers!!! I've already ordered take out from here 3-4 times and the food is so fresh and it tastes delicious!! I've ordered their Mei fun, their fried rice, sesame chicken and happy family and all of these dishes deliver!! We typically stick to the same kind of food, but whenever I go to pick up my food, it is always crowded, so clearly I'm not the only one that knows how good their food is. The food is good and the service is good. The music is too loud and battles and distracts over loud conversations, and TVs on. Mostly though, they really need to clean more. The carpet was filthy and the bathrooms **really** need a deep clean. All they did was put some sort of air freshener attachment in the toilet on the interior, but that is just a chemical coverup. Two of us had a late lunch here today. I was surprised that the place was full of people at 2 p.m. It's just a tiny joint in a strip mall, nothing at all fancy about it. Ambience is nonexistent, but the food more than makes up for that. Service was good, and it didn't take long at all to get served, despite the place being packed full of people. We ordered chicken lo mein and beef with mushrooms. Both were delicious and plentiful. The portions are large and served family style. Ive been hearing rave reviews about this place, so it was about time for me to check it out for myself. I came on a weekend evening and the place was packed! But that didnt stop the host from finding us a seat and the waitress from taking our order in a quick and timely manner. The service was fast and friendly and the food was fresh, hot, delicious and very generous portion sized ( I actually had to get a to-go box because of the overwhelming size). One thing that I found interesting is that instead of a fortune cookie that most Chinese places serve after the meal, this place serves you little hot glazed bite sized donuts. read more

I am very disappointed about the business. Their food is normal and worth the price that they charge. However, on my recent online order, I was charged 10%default tips for a Togo order. Yes, I have the option to change the tip amount if I dig around. In my opinion, this is right out dishonest, with the few minutes of me standing there, all the to go order was charged the 10% tips. The right way to do it is to keep the default tips as 0 unless the customer changes it. I let them know about this, and they did refund my tip. However I still believe they are a dishonest business and take advantage of people missing the tip option. I will never go back! Adding this after the owner responsed to my google response: My point is if I call in and place an togo order, is it acceptable to add a 10% tip without asking and say that it is the customer responsibility to review the receipt at the end? No, this is fraud. Same here that the default amount should be 0 unless the customer changed it voluntarily. Why is every togo order the exact 10% tip charge? If it is voluntary, the tip number should be different! So now when I go to a restaurant I will need to ask upfront what is the hidden fee, service fee, online order fee? read more

No lie, probably one of my favorite spots to eat in the Denver Metro area. Every time I eat here, I do a happy food dance (you know what I'm talking about) because everything is so friggin tasty. My husband and I checked out Hong Kong Station after hearing from multiple friends that it was reeeeeeal good. Spoiler: they weren't wrong. On weekends you should prepare for a little wait, but it's usually only 20-30 mins (there are a few businesses in the area you can check out after putting your number in). They will text when your table is ready, but you have to check in pretty quickly after getting the text. Their menu is unreal, it's huge! One side of the menu seems like a little more authentic Cantonese dishes (do it, order at least one dish from this side) and the other side seems like it has Chinese food that Americans are more used to seeing. Dishes on both sides of the menu are amazing. My husband grew up in Hong Kong is a fiend for the more traditional side (and I'm here for it). NOW ON TO THE FOOD! Going to talk about my favorite appetizer and two favorite entrees. Two words - shrimp toast. It's a large portion of shrimp deep fried onto toast with dipping sauces, and it's so good. Their clay pots are *chef's kiss*. If you're into seafood, try the seafood and tofu pot. The sauce, the variety of seafood (drool worthy scallops included), the tofu that falls apart - yum. I'm also a fan of black bean sauce, so I really love the beef brisket chao fun in black bean sauce. The noodles are pillowy and to die for, the brisket pieces are amazing, and the black bean sauce is so delicious. My wife has seen this place recommended on a neighborhood Facebook page and with a great rating in Yelp, we decided to try it for lunch. We got there at 11:30 on a Wednesday and there were a few tables open so we were seated right away. I got the pepper steak with steamed rice, wonton, egg roll and some mystery dough ball. (see lower right corner of attached picture). The sauces came looking like a Halloween happy-faced. I dipped the wonton and egg roll into the sauce and finished them. Then I grabbed the mystery dough ball and dipped it in the sauce. That's when I learned it was actually supposed to be dessert. It was like a little custard éclair. HAHA All of my food was very fresh and tasty. My wife got some fried rice and garlic shrimp. She is a great cook and thus very picky with restaurant food. She said this was the best Asian food she's eaten in our 3 years here in Denver. (And we eat a lot of Asian food around the Littleton area.) I didn't catch our server's name, I think was Indian, but he was very patient with our first-timer questions and very attentive. All the staff was friendly and helpful. All in all it was a wonderful experience to find this hidden gem and to find that the food and service is as good as people rave it is. We came right before the rush on a Thursday night, got there at 5:45. It's busy for a reason though! We were quickly attended to and were able to get our orders in quickly as well. Staff checked in on us often, and gave us our bill in a timely manner. Food came out hot and delicious! The sesame chicken was a little sweet, but still good.
