Food was so good!!! Everything was cooked perfect. We both ordered ours mild. My garlic asparagus amazing. The server was so awesome. She actually helped pick my order. So glad I did. She was super nice and helpful. It's a small strip mall spot. They have small and bigger tables. The only thing the get a point removed for is air quality. They could use some ventilation for sure. We used to love this place. I haven't eaten here since before covid. Lots has changed. The layout and ambience is terrible. Not so clean looking either. We ordered the Pad Kra Tiem (Garlic) it was swimming a terrible premade canned flavored garlic sauce. I've had this dish many times in the past and this one was far from what it should be. The Pad Thai Lemongrass Chicken was another miss. The pad Thai had a ketchup flavor and the lemon chicken was old and over cooked. A few pieces you couldn't even stable with your fork. read more

I agree with the bad reviews here. The food is not worth it. My wife wanted to try someplace new for Thai food so we came here. She asked for Pra Ram with NO spice (even says so on my receipt). Now the peanut sauce (that was sauce? Eww). No. It was greasy peanut soup. there was a lot of hot pepper in it and the tofu was cooked with black pepper which was not expected and there still was plenty of red peppers in the sauce so it was still spicy despite ordering with NO spice . As for the black pepper thing .. no other Thai place does this that I know of. WTF? I tried some of her dish. Now I like Thai food, but this stuff, NO. It tastes like it looks in the pictures. Gross. The peanut sauce left a bad aftertaste that would not go away until we went straight home and brushed & used Listerine, but I still taste it an hour later, and it's a slimy, oily sugar taste. Yuck. Service was no better than the food either. The woman who took our order did not come back to check on us or offer anything to drink except for the two glasses of water she brought out. I really thought she could care less if we were there or not. We both feel a bit queasy after eating here. Seriously. Go someplace else. Don't waste your time or money here. This place takes first place for the worst Thai food in Salem. I'm calling it as I see it - I'd rather eat McDonalds than this crap. The other guy who posted a one star review from 6/17/2022 is 100% right. They should change the name of the place to TOUGH LUCK THAI. I was bummed. I've always liked this place, but tonight I went in to grab my food and I don't know that I would have ordered food from there had I saw the inside of the restaurant. The Pad Thai was NOT GOOD. It had a sour taste that was very over powering and everything was saturated in sauce that didn't taste good. The salad rolls were just okay. The peanut sauce on the side was ON POINT! The Mango Stir Fry entree was also just not very good. All things we've ordered in the past and loved. The biggest upset was not getting the pot stickers I had ordered. Unfortunately, when I called back he hadn't heard me order them even though he repeated my order back to me on the phone and I ordered them for the second time because he had missed it. Chicken Phad Thai extra chicken Shrimp salad roll I picked up my order- place was empty, the person at the counter was busy on her phone. I told her I was there to pick up my order from online and I repeated what my order was. She told me it wasn't ready and then went back to her phone. A few minutes later a GrubHub person came in to pick up their order she grabbed the bag and said hey your order is ready and I said is it the chicken pad Thai and the salad rolls? She said yes I also need to get silverware Well I get back to my hotel to find out I have been given beef so I called to let them know and basically was told that well beef is two dollars more expensive than chicken so there's your extra meat charge and that they were so busy that they got the orders confused except I picked the order up myself and there was nobody in the restaurant they suggested I could get a two dollar credit the next time I come in but I don't think it's worth it to go back. So if you order takeout from them, double check your order as for the taste, the salad roll was good. Nothing spectacular and beef pad Thai. the food was only okay. I got medium spicy yellow curry and my boyfriend got the tom kha soup (hot). I don't really see the hype. i've had many curries, this one was orange in color and very sweet. may be fitting for someone who prefers sweet over savory. it was so sweet, I couldn't eat it. the soup was also orange, and was sweet as well. the service was pretty good, I got my food at the time estimated through yelp pick up. read more

The larb was sweet and nasty, no lime, no fish sauce, no basil. Inedible. The crab fried rice had hard shells in it, had no flavor other than fishy taste. It too was inedible. The Togo order took 20 minutes and the girl at the cash register was on her phone the entire time. She barely acknowledged us and we saw a group of people leave without ordering while she was on the phone. We tried eating it at home and ended up throwing it away and eating chili dogs instead. I recently was recommended this place by friends and was not disappointed at all. It's a locally owned restaurant that serves quite a variety. I noticed they're popular with delivery orders. Their Thai tea is really good as well as the boba. The server was kind and efficient, he even gave us extra potstickers. They have homemade peanut sauce that they make fresh every day. I ordered their orange chicken which also was made with their homemade orange sauce. So good, sweet & tangy. I definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back! read more

I don't know what went wrong. You can read my gushing reviews below but scanning through the reviews I can see I'm not the only person that used to like the place a lot but now does not. I just gave them my last chance today after being disappointed the last few times. It was perhaps the worst it has ever been. I ordered my usual massaman curry and begged them to make it stronger like they used to. What I got was a container of water that has a sort of vague massaman smell. It's so bad that I think maybe it's time for this place to close. It's now been consistently bad for too long. It looks like maybe it has new owners based on what other people are saying. I don't know for sure if that's true, but it would make sense. Corners have been cut. Prices have gone up. I would recommend you look elsewhere for Thai food, especially if it's massaman curry that you are looking for. read more

Ordered the #10 lunch special, pad kee mao. I was asked how spicy a wanted it on a scale of 5. I like things pretty spicy so I went with 4. It was really spicy. Thai food is my favorite. Just moved to Salem and this is the first place I tried takeout from. It was delicious! Ordered something I've never had before, NAM KAW TOD advertised as a crispy rice dish with lettuce to make wraps (listed under the salad section). They had me at crispy rice. When I called in the order the gentleman on the phone let me know it comes with fermented pork, but offered to make it with chicken as well. I opted for chicken the first go-around. It was everythingggg. Crispy, acidic, strong lemongrass flavors. Simply, delicious. Also ordered the GREEN CURRY. Equally tasty, only personal disappointment was that it did not include eggplant but I'm sure that's a win for some people lol. I ordered everything at a medium heat level- they offer mild, medium, hot and Thai hot. I still found the medium pretty dang spicy, so just beware if this is an issue for you. Best Thai I've found in Oregon since moving here a few years ago!! I wish we lived closer! HUGE portions, accurate spice level for what you order (they do a 1-5 scale) and we even got little dumpling things upon arrival as a free appetizer (looked like the Chinese shu mai). Came here on our way home from Seattle to Albany. The place is cute and seems clean, it was our first time here and the gal was nice. The food came out pretty quick which was nice. The food was good and I eat all my food and was still a little hungry which is the reason for 4 stars. It the quality and flavour I would say is very good for not being in the big city. And this place is way better then anything in Albany or Corvallis that we have tried. So when in need of some Thai food hit this place up.. hope you like it. read more

Came across this restaurant while passing through Salem. Easy to find location in a shopping strip not far from I-5. The staff was friendly with quick service. Shared an order of their Lemongrass Chicken Pad Thai (definitely enough for 2 people to share!) The noodles were well dressed and you could really taste the lemon grass flavor on the grilled chicken. Also ordered an appetizer of the Chicken Satay, moist and flavorful. But even better when dipped in their gracious serving of Peanut Sauce. The side of Cucumber Salad really cuts through the saltiness giving way to a wonderful balance. Will definitely being adding this to my restaurant rotation when in the area. read more

Absolutely nothing but good things to say about this place! We had been here once before and while sitting here this time why in the world we haven't come back sooner! I ordered something new (Kua-ging - a ground meat dish served with rice and lettuce to make your own wraps) and hubby ordered the special Peanut Sauce Lovers dish with steamed veggies, white rice, and large chunks of pork. Both were outstanding! There is a customizable level of spice with seemingly every single dish and both of ours matched our requests. The server was sweet, kind and attentive, they had Thai pop music playing on the TV, and I was upset to not see more people in the restaurant! NEW OWNERS - NO LONGER GOOD! Based on my interaction with the guy on the phone, they should change the name of the place to TOUGH LUCK THAI. Well, I'm bummed. New ownership = CRAP FOOD and even worse attitude. It used to be free spring rolls for $35, so I intentionally ordered $35 worth of food and made the note on the order. NO ONE CALLED ME to tell me or I would've cancelled the order. I paid for extra shrimp and got 3 shrimp. The Tom Kha soup is normally creamy white. This was red and very spicy even though I said "mild." I can't even eat it with this much spice which means it goes into the garbage. I'm not made of money. Normally the Pad Thai is packed so tightly into the container that there are 4 meals. It was only half-full with barely any tofu. The soup has way too much spice for "mild," and the Pad Thai tastes like a bowl of slimy sugar. They used to have two very friendly younger women working the counter. They're gone. I'd been going here since they opened. After recovering from surgery, I was really psyched for this meal. It's inedible. I called. The new owner said tough luck, no refunds. Well, tough luck to him. I'll dispute the credit card charge and he'll have a chargeback on his record. He's lost my business and I guarantee he'll be out of business soon when more people see the quality is gone. If you're new to them, you have no basis for comparison so you'll assume they're good. Trust me, they used to be amazing in terms of food AND service. A smart owner would've done what was necessary to keep a long-time repeat customer. Obviously he's not smart. I've been here before and the food was just as good as the first time. Our order arrived quickly. The portions are plentiful. The menu is extensive. A lot of choices for everyone. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The location is a little tricky. The few times I've been here I've missed the driveway each time and ended up having to drive around and backtrack. Hard to give this a good or bad review because the server was super nice, the food was served hot and portions were quite large. However, I ordered pineapple fried rice and one of the standard ingredients was missing - raisins. When asked why they said the restaurant received so many complaints due to allergies, raisins were removed completely from the kitchen. I find this hard to believe when there are other much more common allergies to be found in the dishes to leave out such a staple ingredient. read more

Big Bang for the buck! Inviting and clean joint. Friendly and welcoming service. Cook time was a bit lagging. The restaurant was bustling with people, so that was a good sign. Did some visual reconnaissance on the food and the portions; this place provided a hefty portion of serving. The curry and rice portions were very generous. They serviced you with some homemade shrimp chips with a side dipping sauce. Excellent introduction to the palate for what was coming. This wasn't your traditional Pad Thai. This dish came with a not so traditional lemongrass chicken. Chicken portions were huge, meaty and juicy slices. This was all breast. The Pad Thai had a tiny morsel of bean sprouts, which was pushed off to the side. I would have liked more beans added. The green onion was minimal to none (one sliced piece). The noodles were cooked perfect; the right amount of spring and chewiness. The sauce had just the right amount of thickness, blend and tamarind paste. It lacked the fish sauce. What a gem I found on Yelp while traveling through the area & craving Thai. The owner was so incredibly hospitable, brought us ice cream too!
