Ive come here often but recently it feels like it's getting more expensive for the smallest amount of food. I usually get a medium and that comes with three scoops of meat. It's more like three tablespoons of meat. They serve the least amount possible it seems. And if you ask for extra meat they say it's an extra charge. You're already paying 13 dollars for a bowl of rice and a few pieces of fish. On top of that they expect a 15% tip for not only the smallest amount of food but also not very friendly customer service. Deeply saddens by this but I'll have to take my business elsewhere, to get more bang for my buck. read more

I was really excited to find out that we were going to have our first poke restaurant in the Northern Colorado area. And it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was so good and tasty. I haven't had a poke bowl this fresh since I lived in Hawaii 25 years ago. It saved my life after dinner fell apart....the Wasabi soy was excellent and not hot at all. I tried them a couple of months ago. I love fresh food and gave this place a try. It was alright, I ordered everything vegetarian with tofu and even though all are healthy and fresh ingredients I simply couldn't finish my bowl only because everything smelled like seafood. Even my tofu tasted like fish, I ordered a takeout, didnt have it in the restaurant as it was smelling like fish. Once I stared eating I had to keep checking if I am eating tofu and not fish. Visiting from out of town and did not have a good experience from the start. I have a very severe nut allergy and when I asked about the options I had I was given a shrug and an "I don't know". No double checking the ingredients and saying all I know about it is what's posted on the sign which didn't refer to nuts so I had to double check. Food is really good, but this place has the worst service of anywhere I have ever been. We did a group order of almost $70. The order was made over 20 minuets late the the END of the time window and was wrong. They served EVERYONE in line before I got my order that had been placed ahead. I didn't look over everyone's orders until I was back in the office 15 minutes away. I called them and they wanted me to bring everything back. Let's start with the good first: The food was very good, the options for poke were plentiful and the location seemed clean from all outward appearances. The bad: This was one of the worst customer service experiences I think I have ever had. This was our first visit here (07/20/18) and we had never tried poke before. So it was really disappointing that the lady helping us was very very very rude. To everyone in the line. She made a lot of unnecessary snarky comments under her breath as she was plating up our food and was not very helpful in answering our questions about the food. I think our presence there was inconvenient to her. I hope her day today is better than that day. So excited to have Poke in Colorado! We love Poke and typically go to Hawaii once a year. We have been here at least a dozen times, and it is good. We will continue to go. Why 3 stars? While build your own Poke is great in some ways it lacks the flavor complexity of Poke that has marinated. Hawaiian Poke can be pretty amazing with great flavors that have marinated to bring out the complexity. I wish they offered combos that were marinated like Hawaii. Make 2-3 that rotate everyday. I was trying to decide between a 3 and 4 star. The tuna was obviously frozen before and not brought in fresh. Unfortunately this has become common product being inland and the price of fresh tuna is high. Also the rice was served very hot. The counter girl double bowled the container but by the time I got home the bowl was warped from the heat and the fish was pretty warm. I usually go for more traditional poke without rice. Maybe if they used sushi rice they can serve it at room temperature. A salad underneath is also an option they have, might be better for takeout. The good thing were the topping choices. They have many and only a couple things are extra charge. The house sauce was very good also. Prices were reasonable, I got the medium bowl and it filled me up with all the toppings. I wanted so bad to like this place. My family and I travel to Hawaii every year and I was so excited when I found out that a poke place was opening in Johnstown. My husband and I finally had a chance to stop here for lunch today and give it a try. As soon as we got to the counter and saw what the ahi looked like, my heart sank. A good quality poke consists of grade A ahi, which is a deep red color. What they had here was light pink, meaning low quality frozen tuna. The 'bowl' we ordered contained a bunch of rice, about 8 pieces of ahi, a mixture of veggies, and sauce that completely overpowered the taste of everything else. This is NOT what poke is. Customer service is poor due to the face that they don't add half lettuce and half rice to their small bowl option. They don't make soy sauce easily acceptable.
