Today I came in for 20 wings and a beer. Ordered both immediately.. Got the beer in seconds. After 45 minutes got the wings. After watching the cooks yell at the waitresses that their food was getting cold I started watching since I was in the closest booth to the kitchen. Horrible experience here. My family and I came here to eat at 11:30pm and they close at 1am on a Saturday night. We were told there was an hour wait, therefore we waited to be seated. At 12:30 we were told that we can only be seated if we were going to tip the servers....... This was said by the manager on shift named Latrell. I am a firm believer of tipping 20% or more EVERYTIME. Decided to stop in with my wife since she enjoys the boneless chicken. I enjoy the Buffalo shrimp and beer...how can this be a bad thing. Here is how... There was a short wait so our name was put on the list. The two couple in front of us got seated quickly. Two men came in and, a waitress came up and told them to follow her. I said excuse me but we were here first. The waitress did not acknowledge my statement and proceeded to seat the men. When the front hostess came back I explained what had happened and she apologized. Strike 1. When we got to the table our waitress showed up and took our drink order. Drinks arrived promptly. Next she took our food order. Food delivery not so prompt. 25 minutes later and me having to get her attention for a beer refill. Strike 2. The food was not hot...just barely warm. Hello, I visited this location over this past weekend Saturday @9:00 pm to be exact & the hostess working the door I believe her name was Josie a chick with a blonde blunt cut bob had a horrible attitude she argued with me about seating after she personally called & told me my table was ready! She displayed terrible customer service stormed off after being corrected! I believe she was upset that I came and interrupted her smoke break! Ok I give it three stars come on its Hooters. Staff extremely nice and the restaurant as a whole is impeccably clean. Bacon wrapped wings was a new one for me. It was pretty tasty but then again you could wrap bacon around a flip flop and I would eat it. Buffalo Shrimp was good. It's Hooters so you expect a couple things. What you don't expect is bartenders eating behind the bar, chewing while clearing the bar and in general, talking with food in their mouths when confirming orders. It's just kinda gross. The food was good. Place was packed and a little disheveled from what was clearly an onslaught of wing lovers. The Wednesday all you can eat boneless deal is worth it but make sure you order more when your current order arrives. Hard to get the attention of the bar staff probably because they were eating. We always use to get the traditional medium wings and they just aren't the same. I like the old salads much better too. I thought the wings were good but my husband doesn't like them anymore. Every time I come to this location it has went down down down. It used to be my favorite place for wings but I don't want to waste my gas to drive over here to be ignored and brought the wrong food. Then bringing it back to me it isn't cooked properly. Some of the ladies are nice enough, then you have the others that completely ignore you to talk to a table full of guys while ignoring families. I guess they are trying to make a bigger tip. But with acting in such a way, already wearing a degrading uniform, they may as well be doing other things. I go to enjoy wings and curly fries and the many different sauces. There are a few that have serious service with a smile and that's the only reason I have been back. I don't really need the girls laying their goods across my table for my children to see and their shorts are short enough. They could unlike them so their cheeks aren't hanging out. It says it's a family restaurant, but I think I'll leave this one for the guys. If I wanted that type of service, from the episodes of Married With Children, Al says they have great wings at the nudie bar, and I'm sure I can get some angry orchard there as well. It's one thing to be ignored and get great food. It's another to get bad service and less than average food. My daughter and I stopped here for lunch on our way home from Chicago. We had Chelsey as our server. She was very nice and friendly. Recommended the fried pickles, they were delicious!!!! We never had to ask for refills. Food came out nice and hot. She checked on us a few times asking how everything was or if we needed anything. Even the manager was visiting tables. Great Service!! One thing I would recommend, this is my third time to a Hooters. I love their chili cheese fries. My family and I visited this location of Hooters a couple of days ago. It was the worst experience I've had at this restaurant. It had been a few months since we had been to this restaurant, and I've never had a bad experience here prior to this most recent visit. First, our waitress was terrible. We waited forever for drink refills, and she barely came to check on us! Our food took FOREVER, and when it finally came, it wasn't good. The fries were hard and dry, and the wings were just okay. We ordered cheese sauce for the fries, and it was the thinnest "sauce" I've ever seen! My husband's first beer was warm and didn't taste right. The second one was fine. I would've told our waitress about our issues, if I could have found her! She was MIA for most of our dining experience. I couldn't even get a fork! I finally got up and went to find her because I was done waiting! When I turned the corner, she was standing there gossiping with another waitress. I understand that one waitress doesn't represent the entire staff, but between the bad service and the subpar food, I think it's time to take break from this location. My boyfriend is a Hooters fanatic. So if we're out doing some shopping and there's a Hooters near by (especially if we haven't been in awhile) that's his choice of eats. We usually go to the one in Schereville, but since we were in Merrillville, we decided to try this one. I have to say that we weren't disappointed. The serve was good and the food was good. I decided to try the new smoked wings with no sauce...all flats (OMG!!!). They were finger licking good! The wings, my salad and my half-pound shrimp added the final touch to the atmosphere....you can't go wrong with eating wings at a sports bar/restaurant when March Madness (Northwestern vs Gonzaga) is playing. Wow! What great service! And stupid me forgot to get the name of my bartender (for the record, I rambled in shortly before 10 p.m. on Thurs, Aug 28). Almost immediately after I plopped down on my barstool, she greeted me with a smile, asked for my beer selection (they have a boatload to choose from, by the way) and handed me a menu. When I told her I'd like some buffalo shrimp (Triple Dog Dare sauce, of course), she suggested I wait to order them at 10 p.m. when the half-priced appetizer special kicked in. To me, that's the kind of service that makes first-time customers become loyal customers. While I waited for my food (not long at all) and enjoyed the Crosstown Classic (go Cubs, GO!) on all the HUGE flat-screens, she made sure my Lagunitas IPA never ran dry. He was of absolutely no help.. I found the whole experience very unprofessional. I did not even get an apology for the whole mix up .. Although I did get my order.. It will be my last. We walk in and say hi table for two still no word out of her mouth. We follow her to sit down she didn't even know where to sit us and then she finally sat us at a DIRTY table. She just wiped it off and left the menus didn't even tell us our server will be right with us. Couldn't see her name since she had her hair covering her name tag!!!! The reason for the three stars just like last time the food was amazing and so was our waiter Jordann she was very friendly and attentive! Next time consider hiring people with a friendly personality not people who look like they don't want to be there!! read more

We ordered through doordash and it was a terrible experience. Doordash is pathetic. But Hooters was just as bad. They sent the wrong order and what did arrive was soggy and cold. We threw it out. Doordashbprovided horrible service but Hooters provided inedible food. We are crossing both off our list. The restaurant is currently remodeling, so it does look a little rough, but the food is still great. Our food took a little longer than we would have liked, but they had just seated a party of 50. Our waitress was very attentive. Our drinks were always refilled. When our food. Came, it was correct, hot and delicious. My only suggestion would be that they could have been saucier.
