Loved it! There's a parking lot behind the cafe so was super easy to find a spot. The cafe is pretty big with lots of tables all around. There were people working on their laptops, catching up with friends, etc (I was there on a sunday). They also have an outdoors area in the back with benches and big sun umbrellas -- super nice for a good weather day! Lots of interesting coffee flavors, my friends and I ordered the blackberry fog, a strawberry pistachio latte and a cardamom rose latte. The flavor came through on all the drinks which is pretty rare especially with mixed flavors, so very happy with that! Overall good drink and fairly priced. My friend also ordered the nutella crepe which was delicious! read more

The service took a long time and the coffee taste burnt a bit. The breakfast burritos were not good it had what they call is greens it was cucumber and spinach I think.. I like cucumber but not in my breakfast burritos. I guess it's just personal preference. Always love a cozy cafe with such warmth and good coffee + food. I first came here for the Madras Filter coffee and then kept coming back for more. They have mastered the flavors without making beverages too sweet or too strong. Service is pretty quick here. read more

First time here with sweetheart and her high school classmate Jojo (1971). Friendly and warm welcome. Busy but lucky we're able to grab a table. Ambiance was quiet and comfortable. Good service. The Chaplin sandwich so delicious and so was the Monte Cristo. Chaplin's combo ingredients of scrambled eggs, basil, bacon on Ciabatta bread with chipotle dressing was exceptional. Simple yet satisfying and enjoyable. Monte Cristo was as good even without syrup (can't have it). Finishing up with hot smoking black coffee, didn't need anything else. Such a lively coffee shop! This spot is a perfect place for a catch up with friends and/or family. The interior is very cozy, welcoming and honestly quite aesthetically pleasing as well. The latte I got was huge and super delicious. The Nutella crepe was just alright! Nothing too special. The one huge downside is the seating and parking. Arrived on a weekend and it was pretty hectic. Because this place is located at the corner of an intersection, you can only rely on street parking or finding a spot in the nearby grocery store parking lot behind the store. Sunday was specifically busy because there was a farmers market happening next door so be mindful of that! The seating inside can be impossible if you have groups of people sitting and chatting around for too long. Be prepared to possibly take your order to go if that's the case. Another thing to be prepared for are the long lines.. it was almost out the door when I arrived. read more

Seen this place for years and always wanted to try it. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday here, and when I got here there was a long line, but went surprisingly fast. You can scan the menu and look over what you want so by the time you get to register your ready to order. The inside is nice and cozy with true café vibes, busy inside so we ate outside on patio. Nice employees, we were helped by Junior and he was super cool. Prices are good and food quality is great. The crepes are big! I got the Garden Fresh Crepe it came with side salad and loved it! The Strawberry Banana Nutella Crepe was good too just needed some whip cream. My husband loved his sandwich which was The Chaplin. Good craft beer selection. Nice place to come it has good vibes. read more

I've passed by this place a lot without ever stopping by. My partner was looking for a place to stop by to wait out the rain before his tennis match, and this was one of the few open places that early in the morning. I got the sunrise sandwich and a blackberry fog. The sour bread had a nice crisp and was very buttery, which complemented the egg, ham, sauce, and tomato very well. I think without the tomato it could be very heavy, but the acidity from the tomato cuts through the other flavors and adds a refreshing component to each bite. The blackberry fog had nice subtle notes of blackberry in each sip. The drink looked very aesthetic and tasted very good! They have a lot of nondairy options for milk, which was a plus for my lactose intolerant partner. Inside there is dim lighting that is added to by some Christmas lights. Ample seating, with both low and high table options as well as some cozy stools alongside the windows. I came in the early morning on a Sunday, so not sure noise levels during a busier time, but seems like would be a good place to get some work done while enjoying some brews (or hops if that scratches your itch). They have quite an extensive beer, cider, and kombucha menu. I think Hops & Beans is a good cafe to stop by, and conveniently located adjacent to where the Farmers Market is on Sundays. For parking I would park in the plaza behind the cafe. read more

This was my first time here and the coffee tasted nothing like coffee it was just straight milk not even any flavor and for an $8 drink i was expecting a lot more. The worker at the coffee bar had an AirPod in and was not friendly when I asked for the bathroom key she just pointed at it not saying anything. This is such a gem of a cafe! A variety of food and drink and open til 8pm! Ample seating and outlets and parking! I got the cappuccino; it was a touch of savory which was really nice and unique. Obviously didn't have salt but their beans and the froth were wonderful and made a nice savory aroma. I also got the grilled chicken pesto crepe. I usually never order crepes but this one was calling my name for some reason, and it definitely raised my opinion of crepes! The crepe itself was a touch of sweet which was really nice. The crepe was really full and all the ingredients came together and balanced so nicely. The side salad's dressing was deliciously creamy and tangy. The cappuccino and crepe were about $21. My order came out really quickly, right after I settled into my table. Service was very nice. read more

Small, quaint cafe! It was a great place for teleworking and enjoying on a rainy day. Got the avocado toast, Mediterranean toast and the cucumber toast. Such a hidden gem in Fremont! The brick-style exterior gives it a really cozy vibe, and the coffee was absolutely delicious. We tried the white chocolate mocha and dark chocolate mocha--both were amazing. The spinach and artichoke dip with sourdough bread was also a hit. I noticed a lot of people working here until late in the evening, which makes it a great spot to hang out or get some work done. Can't believe I never knew this place existed, definitely worth a visit! read more

Place was busy so service to receive drinks was quite a wait. Surprised to find that our usual drinks tasted very different than our previous orders. Change from cocoa powder to current product and syrups used are noticeable. Latte tasted like it was drip coffee not espresso. Disappointed with the newer versions of our previously favored coffees. Late post!! Came for breakfast here after attending Mass at the Mission San Jose. Located in the Monument Shopping Center! A Cafe where you can eat and stay to do work or study!!! Limited seating. One of my go-tos in Fremont. Deliciously filling food and a great space to work at or for a chat! Their breakfast burrito is to die for. Whatever they put in that aioli sauce must be illegal - it's SO ADDICTING. And the twinkling lights make the cafe feel like a warm cozy Christmas hug. At the corner of 3-way intersection (Fremont Blvd/Washington Blvd/Bay St) is Hops and Beans Cafe. Nestled in Fremont's oldest commercial building, this building dates back to 1876. It used to be a place where community events and entertainment happened. And still, this cafe continues this spirit. The last two times I've gone, I've gotten one of their delicious specialty coffees (I think it's called Blackberry Fog) with their focaccia sandwich. Absolutely no regrets. The building is obviously old and you shouldn't judge it by modernity but they have changed some of the seating since the previous ownership and added more appealing patio furniture for better group seating. There is good wifi and some plugs but I do wish there were more so if needing to be plugged in, there would be more flexibility across tables. That said, I didn't feel pressured to be working in this space. It felt leisurely. The previous time I went, I was with a large group of friends. We surrounded a large table on the patio and had a great time spending time together. There is a large parking lot behind. They've locked the patio gate so you just need to walk around to get to the front entrance. No biggie! On Sunday's though, when the Farmer's Market is going on and the grocery store in the next door plaza is bustling, have patience with the parking. You can do street parking farther away and walk over. The only thing I would wish for here is air conditioning! On a warm day, it got a little stuffy inside. Otherwise, this cafe is a sweet nugget in Fremont! read more

Very bustling cafe with good drinks and food (mostly breakfast) items! Pros: lots of space, easy to park, prices are reasonable, portion sizes are decently large, and pretty good atmosphere to study/work in. (Think nice buzz without too many distractions) Cons: always packed, people don't always respect seats if you get up to order, and not a whole lot of drink selections if you don't drink coffee/caffeine. I ordered a breakfast crepe and hibiscus tea, both of which were tasty and decently sized. I sent a couple of emails and did some work but given how crowded it was and how many people were waiting for a table, I didn't feel like I could stay too long. Service was friendly and things came out relatively quickly. I'd like to try some of their seasonal drinks and other crepes next time. read more

One of the best cafes I have ever been to in Fremont. Their pulled pork sandwich was so juicy and flavorful. The portion was so huge my friend and I were able to comfortably share it alongside their spinach dip appetizer. The dip was a little salty but still great. Everyone working there was so nice and accommodating especially with my food allergies. We went on a weekday and it was still quite busy. There were lots of people working on laptops or catching up with friends. Will definitely be returning. read more

Put a pick up order and the app said time to pick up. I arrived to the place then 3 different people looked at my phone and went to the kitchen and came back with no response. When I asked at the end, someone told me they didn't put the order which basically means they're just about to start it. Then they started fighting together then one of them turned at me aggressively and said it will be 10 minutes you can sit until it's ready. At this point i was already waiting for 5-10 minutes. I think they need to solve their internal management problems and fix their relationships together before taken it out in the customer especially that the whole thing is their fault. I cancelled my order and left. Such a waste of time which ended up with me not having breakfast. I live across the street and love their food so, it's such a loss with such attitude. read more

Ordered a matcha with lavender syrup. Although it looked like it would pour over while walking it to the table, it didn't! The bartista shared that since the foam is so thick it won't spill. I enjoyed its frothiness. It had the perfect sweetness and fragrance as well. Lots of seating and good vibes for studying or chatting with friends. read more

The drinks here are a 10/10!! I ordered a honey lavender latte with oat milk and it was perfectly sweet. The lavender flavor was strong but that's how I like it :). My friend ordered the cafe borgia and it tasted exactly like those chocolate shaped oranges that used to be a thing. Both lattes were good! I also ordered the monte cristo which was 2 scrambled eggs with black forest ham between french toast. The french toast was yummy but the sandwich had some mayonnaise/sauce? that I wasn't expecting which ruined it for me. There was a lot of the sauce on the bread and the ham wasn't too thick so it really stood out. Would try some of their other options next time! read more

I tried the Avocado Toast, Nutella Crepe, Grilled Chicken Pesto Crepe, South Indian Filter Coffee, and Iced Madras Latte, and everything was delicious in its own way. The Avocado Toast was fresh, simple, and a great lighter option. The Nutella Crepe was perfect for something sweet, with the Nutella, bananas, and strawberries making it feel like a treat. The Grilled Chicken Pesto Crepe was savory, filling, and packed with flavor from the pesto, basil, tomato, red onion, melted cheese, and tender chicken. I also tried the South Indian Filter Coffee, which was rich and comforting, but I especially loved the Iced Madras Latte. Had a ladies brunch out to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time here so was pretty shocked to see every single table occupied at 11am on a Tuesday, by someone working or studying with a laptop. But outside tables were pretty empty, so w grabbed on there. Very nice ambience, pretty decor here and there, and a very interesting menu! We got a couple of caprese sandwiches, a artichoke-cucumber toast, a garden crepe and Nutella French toast bites. The cucumber toast with artichoke spread was pretty good! Great taste. Caprese sandwich could have had more pesto/basil taste, it was mainly just cheese and tomato. The garden crepe had a lot of pesto filling with vegetables and it tasted great! The best of everything we had. Staff were super friendly and sweet too. Food came out fairly quickly too! Overall, will definitely visit again it was a very pleasant experience. read more

Hops & beans is my favorite cafe in Fremont. Anything on the menu that I have tried so far seems to be amazing! Their sandwiches and lattes are the best in this area. Came back to try a sand-which and their crepe and I must say...sooo good. And how can I say no to a nice cold beer especially from my favorite SJ brewery narrative fermentation and a seasonal latte. This place did not disappoint when it comes to brews, coffee and breakfast treats. The barista was nice enough to let us try some samples of the different breweries they had on draft. It was nice to be able to enjoy the Sun in their outdoor seating with a tasty breakfast and drink. This place is added to my goto breakfast spot in Fremont. read more

A place with lively and happy people! It is a good sign that it is a good place otherwise there should be no traffic. Many people are ordering brunches with food and drink. Since it is my first time here, I wanted to check out one item first. I picked the Rose Latte. The latte pattern was made in front of me. It is a full cup of beauty. I held it carefully to get a seat. The first sip made me feel the difference. It's creamy with a slight sense of rose and light sweet. Coffee taste was there but becomes more dimensional with rose. I came in on Sunday around 12 and the first thing I noticed was the homely ambiance. Whoever created and designed the cafe knew what they were doing! I came in and I immediately noticed that the cashier had a broken wrist. I expected terrible service because of her broken wrist, but she surprised me. I came in not knowing what I wanted so I asked the barista for suggestions. I told her I wanted some caffeine and something nutty just because I was in the mood for it. The barista suggested a bunch of drinks and I ended up choosing the Iced Island Latte. After I ordered, she immediately went and started making the drink. I was impressed with how she was able to make a drink with a broken wrist. After waiting for a short moment, she handed me my drink. After taking a single sip, my world shook. It was the most flavorful and delicious drink I have ever had. I can tell the barista put a lot of care into making it. Had a wonderful evening at Hops and Beans Cafe! We visited on a Saturday evening, and the live jazz band created such an amazing vibe in this cozy little cafe. They have live band every few weeks on Saturdays. For drinks, we tried the ice Latte and the Rose Cardamom Latte... both were delicious and perfectly crafted. For food, we had the Caprese Grilled Cheese and Avocado Toast, which were fresh and flavorful. But the real star was the Spinach and Artichoke Dip ... absolutely finger-licking good! This is definitely a great spot for casual meetups with friends, good food, and relaxing music. They also offer beer on tap, which we'll definitely be coming back to try next time. I tried the rose cardamom latte with oat milk, and it was absolute perfection! The sweetness was spot on, and the latte art was beautiful. The cafe was packed when I went in the afternoon, with plenty of people studying. The small lot makes parking a bit tricky, so you'll likely have to rely on street parking. This coffee shop is so unique. It's built inside an historic building in Fremont. It's a perfect place to come study or meet up with friends. During my last visit, I ordered a chicken melt and my sister indulged in the French toast. Both items were SO good! They serve organic coffee, which is a big plus. There was a moment where it was someone's birthday at another table and I don't think I've ever heard a more unenthusiastic and monotone announcement for a birthday and a lame excuse for a birthday song.
