Let me start by saying our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The place was not super busy but the food took what felt like to be a long time since we only ordered sandwiches and a burger in the group. I ordered their French dip sandwich and upgraded to the sweet potato tots. The roll was good, hard outside shell with a soft inside. Both the meat and au jus sauce had little flavor. It was very underwhelming. The tots were perfect with just a little salt. When we cashed out, I noticed that my card was ran for a different bill. It was only a few dollars difference so I didn't make a fuss but was definitely not super thrilled about it. Overall it's not a place I would return to, despite the friendly wait staff. read more

I always order the veggie quesadilla and it is always packed with tons of vegetables and it's supposed to have bacon, tomato, and onion. Today there was barely enough cheese and a little red onion with a few tiny diced tomatoes. When I called to say something after tipping for take out as well I might add! The manager said I will pass that info along quote " I didn't see the food going out but I can tell you it was the same" and didn't try to refund. She wanted me to drive back after getting take out, which is crazy no one wants to be inconvenienced over one simple meal. Disappointed and I will not be ordering from there or going ever again. Food is pretty good, Their onion rings rock, but if you're looking for consistency this is not the place. My husband and daughter both ordered the same Maple Old-fashioned...mmmmm her' was fantastic, his not so much, tasted like straight up whiskey. And what are you supposed to say when they are standing there waiting...no drink is still crappy??? Let me just start by saying this: I don't know. A lot of funny as hell hatchet job reviews for this place. I think some people need to get their expectations a bit more in line with reality. At the end of the day this is basically a glorified dive bar that serves bar food. It's not fine dining, it's not a bistro and it's not a gastro pub. This place to me has always been about as old school as it gets. Before the ownership change a decade ago it was a hole in the wall where your grandparents and great-grandparents went to get their Friday night HIghballs and have some thin crust pizza. To me it's all about keeping it simple. Stick to some apps, chili, burgers, sandwiches and of course the original Paddock Pizza and you'll be fine. Eat in and don't do takeout and things will be even better. Overall I've never had an issue with anything going on here whether it was with the old owners 30+ years ago or coming in for lunch last week. Good food, fair prices and decent service. Weve been coming to the Paddock for 60 years. Always our favorite pizza. Last few times it was not at all like the original. We asked for extra sauce, got extra cheese that was very salty. The crust seems to be pretty much the same but the pizza, NO. So disappointed. Won't come there for pizza anymore. The stead sandwich was pretty good but the meat was dry and overdone. We're 77 and have dated there at 16 years old. SOOO DISAPPOINTED. Always have nice servers though. read more

4/15/2022 Blackened sea bass tacos should have been served with lemon because they were fishy. Cole slaw was pretty good, onion rings very good. Friend enjoyed medium rare cheeseburger with caramelized onions, swiss cheese and sweet potato tots. Restaurant looked different because they rearranged everything and cleaned. 6/8/2022 French Onion soup just out of oven was very hot and good. Let it cool for five minutes before eating. Crab cakes not served warm enough, were returned to kitchen for reheating. Main problem with crab cakes was they were too fishy, even squeezing fresh lemon in them didn't help. Sweet potato tots were okay, housemade cole slaw had too much sweet dressing added. Really struggled to get through this meal, should have returned it for something else. My table was cleared including unsigned receipt and leftover box when I got up to go to restroom. I understand people were waiting for tables, but you don't clear table until customer's credit/debit card transaction is processed and signed. Have been at least a dozen times and never ever disappointed! Love trivia on Tuesdays and seasonal cocktails! The garlic parm wings are to die for(although not your typical garlic parm so beware). I came here with a large group of people who live nearby and come fairly regularly. We all ordered a variety of things and we had a good time. I'm surprised the star rating for this place isn't higher. The only complaint I could make is that the people in the group were finishing their food as others were only just being served, but that's because this place is popular and busy. read more

Coming here on and off for years. Overall the service is good and the food is good for bar food, esp mozzarella moons and the wings and pizza. The problem is if you have a large party they get really annoyed if you try to move tables together. This is an issue in both dinning area and the bar. No other restaurant gives such a hard time about it. They just don't allow it. It's not hard to do and the servers can work out the section etc. Due to this issue we don't come here as often as we would. If they were more accommodating to their customers like other restaurants are it would be great. read more

Went there at 8:45 on a Sunday night. We wanted to sit in a booth and were told that the dining room was closed and we had to sit at a high top table in front of the blaring music. I conveyed that to the server, manager whomever he was.( he didn't introduce himself ) he just walked away. We walked out never to return. I can see why this dump has so few good reviews. We are regulars. We go there twice a month, at least. We have noticed a decline in the food and service recently. Tonight I had a classic hamburger. A staple for me which has always been great. Tonight it was greasy and tasted like a cheap frozen hamburger. The "tater tots" that I ordered instead of chips were shaped like letters L and Z, not what I anticipated I would be getting. They were terrible. They didn't even taste like potatoes. The waitress deducted them from the bill. We had to wait for drinks and dinner took a long time to come out. Ok, so to start off with I am a big fan of Hops at the Paddock, but on my recent visit I was very disappointed! Met a friend and we sat out on the covered patio. Their governance of mask wearing has a lot to be desired, we had many persons walk by us at less than 6 feet with no masks! We had one yahoo who actually walked by us with a cigarette but no mask. And on that note are you allowed to smoke in an area that persons are dining? But to top it off one person who was at the table next to us got up and entered the restaurant (sans mask) and a waitress actually opened the door for him! And let him enter without a mask!!!! And there was a big sign on the door requiring a MASK! Actually I would recommend dining indoors at The Paddock, I think it is safer, from what I observed! We've gotten pizza takeout from here before and enjoyed it, so tonight's experience was exceptionally disappointing. We placed a takeout order over the phone, but upon arriving had difficulty finding a parking spot, despite it being a large parking lot. We had to wait inside by the bar, and it was as busy as it was pre-covid. The tables were set apart with the illusion of distancing, but everyone was standing around and not actually following guidelines. Very few masks to be seen. People were shouting and coughing. There were only a couple servers, and after taking our name we were left to wait among the crowd. No one returned with our food, and given the highly unsafe environment we chose to leave. If covid precautions are important to you, avoid this place. Extra star only awarded because the pizza was good in the past. read more

We were just pushed off our barstools by the bartenders who apparently wanted to get some lady a seat at the poker machine. This meant that her two friends had to have the adjoining stools so out we go with our half finished beers on the bar. Maybe that old woman is a regular there but I have never experienced anything like this before. I have no idea why she/they couldn't wait a few minutes for their "favorite" seats. The bartenders could have been more straight with us about how they were accommodating this woman but instead they just told us that we had to leave if we didn't have someone coming to take that seat. As has become the standard , we enjoyed another fun family night dining at this local favorite. The food ( quesadillas, beef tips over pasta , etc ) was excellent , but what made this otherwise routine dinner exceptional was the 5 star service we received from both RACHEL and SAMANTHA. They are both enthusiastic, fun rockstars posing as waitresses !!! We will continue to patronize HOPS at the PADDOCK and cross our fingers that these beautiful ladies tables are available. read more

I have been to The Paddock many times, it's one of my favorites. I live in Florida but I am originally from Bethlehem. While I was reading the reviews I couldn't believe no one mentions the Cheeseteaks! I go to The Paddock FOR the cheesesteaks! Beef or chicken, they are fantastic! The fresh cut fries are phenomanal but I have to get the piergoies! They are homemade from some talented Eastern Euopean women. The pizza looks soooo good. My brother-in-law always gets the pizza. I love this restaurant, I go often service is usually amazing! Most of the servers are great everytime. I recently had a server named Sam which was horrible, she never came to ask if I needed anything, I needed a drink refill and never came to me and it was not busy what so ever. After my food was done I had my plate on the side of the table clearly showing that I'm done and it took her over 45 minutes to take my food, after she did it took about 10 mins to get my check. We utilized the GRUBHUB app to order local food in the area and the Paddock was listed as a participating restaurant. It took 1h30m to get our order because the Manager was rude toward the patient GRUBHUB driver and refusing to make our order. I felt horrible that the driver had to deal with this jerk of a Manager and our driver was extremely apologetic for how late we received our order. Paddock you lost our business for life which sucks for you! GRUBHUB is a way to keep local businesses open. Take yourself off of the GRUBHUB listing if you don't want people ordering or if you think you are too good for our money. read more
