This restaurant is pretty close to home so my sister and I decided to grab some dinner from here. The service was quick and the server was friendly. However our drinks stayed empty for a bit of time before they got refilled. We had to ask her to fill them for us one of the times we needed a refill. Over all I just wanted satisfied with the food. The oil on the fish and chips had a really different taste. The sliders were fairly dry. The lettuce in the bbq chicken wrap was a big brown and welted. This is one of my favorite bar and grill type places. They have great happy hour deals. I love the friend pickles. I used to love the fried zucchini too but they changed the way they cut the zucchini and I no longer like them. My husband usually gets a wrap and always is happy. I've tried a few things here. First time to this location. The service was really quick and very friendly. We went in for lunch. I was looking forward to having the fish tacos in the past they have always been one of my favorites, this time not so much. The flour tortillas were cold and bland really needed to grilled a bit. You get 3 and there was very little in them. You would better to serve same amount and only serve 2. They were really lacking in seasoning even a little salt would help and they needed some salsa or sauce over the cabbage. Not good at all and very disappointing. On a good note my friend had the fish and chips and it looked amazing. It had great color, crispy and hot. Definitely try that. read more

Group of three had happy hour. Super service. Comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Wonderful flavored lemonades in frosty mugs! 5 stars for them. I tried peach, huckleberry and raspberry. Ambience, service, variety; this place has pretty much everything you can ask for. I ate here twice in a week while visiting friends in the area and both lunch and dinner experiences were great. I love the drinks in the ice glasses. The hand muddled cocktails were my favorite. Also the strawberry lemonade was fantastic. The chicken noodle soup was full of flavor and a really delicious. The rib tips were tender and smokey. I also loved getting tater tots with my dinner entree! The servers were attentive and never rushed me when I had some time to kill. Hop Jack's is a chain however I much prefer it over the likes of Applebee's, TGIFriday's or Red Robin (not like I frequent them that often anyway). Just about five drop-ins so far since they opened: Drop in #1: Grand opening period - Happy Hour test. Fish tacos, tempura shrimp, buffalo wing flatbread. Average pricing, no complaints and overall an okay visit. #2: Chicken soup, meatloaf with onion n taters. Chicken soup was not hot so sent that back and they gave a new, piping hot one that boo really liked. My meatloaf, with the optional onions tasted a bit too sweet. Love the taters as I used to go to Sonic's all the time as a kid to buy that with the foot long chili cheese dogs! Can't ever go wrong with taters! #3 9:15pm. Need food late but don't want McD's or Rock Pizza so figured I revisit the meatloaf again with no onions on top. **BINGO, ding ding ding!!*** Meatloaf n taters now my "go to". I am tempted for the meatloaf burger now as I heard that's just as good. #4 Lunch time - discovered something NEW (new to me that is): Refreshingly chilled brews! Cold, frosty glass to keep the beverage at the right temperatures throughout the meal. Major bonus points for truly THE COLDEST BEER IN TOWN! #5 Late night munchies. Beer, soup, meatloaf plus dessert!! The mushroom topping on the meatloaf is a better choice and doesn't add too much of the sweetness the caramelized onions do. Absolutely love. The man who seated me was so kind and attentive and welcoming. The woman who served us, pretty one with the red hair, was working alone, but still never kept us waiting. She had great recommendations and made sure we got the most out of our dinner. The place was clean and comfy. We were there on a Tuesday around 2pm so there was probably just a handful of us. The menu, everything looked so inviting, it was hard to narrow it down. We ordered the garlic fries which were so good! We also ordered the tomato basil grilled cheese (delicious) and the carnitas tacos (a little dry, but still good). I must admit, the happy hour menu was a lot smaller than I though. I saw the photos of the menu on Yelp before going, but it wasn't the same when I got there. We had two items off the Happy Hour menu: pork rib tips and street tacos. Then a guacamole burger off the regular menu. My favorite part of my meal: the tater tots! Drinks were also standard.
